What IS Wants, And How Obama Lies You Down The River About It

The time for euphemism and evasion has well passed. Even the archliberal Atlantic is now offering clarity.

Our ignorance of the Islamic State is in some ways understandable: It is a hermit kingdom; few have gone there and returned. Baghdadi has spoken on camera only once. But his address, and the Islamic State’s countless other propaganda videos and encyclicals, are online, and the caliphate’s supporters have toiled mightily to make their project knowable. We can gather that their state rejects peace as a matter of principle; that it hungers for genocide; that its religious views make it constitutionally incapable of certain types of change, even if that change might ensure its survival; and that it considers itself a harbinger of--and headline player in--the imminent end of the world.

The actual Biblical apocalypse, they mean. Not only are they eager fans of the apocalypse-- they hope to be the horsemen of the apocalypse.

The Islamic State, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), follows a distinctive variety of Islam whose beliefs about the path to the Day of Judgment matter to its strategy, and can help the West know its enemy and predict its behavior. Its rise to power is less like the triumph of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt (a group whose leaders the Islamic State considers apostates) than like the realization of a dystopian alternate reality in which David Koresh or Jim Jones survived to wield absolute power over not just a few hundred people, but some 8 million.

We have misunderstood the nature of the Islamic State in at least two ways....

We are misled in a second way, by a well-intentioned but dishonest campaign to deny the Islamic State's medieval religious nature....

The most-articulate spokesmen for that position are the Islamic State's officials and supporters themselves. They refer derisively to "moderns." In conversation, they insist that they will not--cannot--waver from governing precepts that were embedded in Islam by the Prophet Muhammad and his earliest followers. They often speak in codes and allusions that sound odd or old-fashioned to non-Muslims, but refer to specific traditions and texts of early Islam....

The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic. Very Islamic. Yes, it has attracted psychopaths and adventure seekers, drawn largely from the disaffected populations of the Middle East and Europe. But the religion preached by its most ardent followers derives from coherent and even learned interpretations of Islam.

Virtually every major decision and law promulgated by the Islamic State adheres to what it calls, in its press and pronouncements, and on its billboards, license plates, stationery, and coins, "the Prophetic methodology," which means following the prophecy and example of Muhammad, in punctilious detail. Muslims can reject the Islamic State; nearly all do. But pretending that it isn't actually a religious, millenarian group, with theology that must be understood to be combatted, has already led the United States to underestimate it and back foolish schemes to counter it.

Long piece, and very good. Thanks to @bfwebster.

Meanwhile, our pathetically decadent and cowardly media proclaims the past week to have been a hellish one for the reputation of not Islam but religion generally.

The one grotesquerie they cite that isn't Islamist in origin is the shooting of the three Islamic students in Chapel Hill over a parking space. But even CNN confesses that the shooter there was a militant atheist.

How is this a bad week for religion, CNN? Seems it's a bad week for Islamists, or rather, those unfortunate to live within murdering distance of Islamists.

Meanwhile, our White House, which essentially now serves as a Public Relations firm for murderous, fascist Islamism --constantly spinning on Al Qaeda's or IS' behalf, telling us that what they've done isn't so bad (in the scheme of things) and reminding us "But the Crusades" -- declares that the Coptic Christians beheaded by IS were selected... randomly, I guess.

The United States condemns the despicable and cowardly murder of twenty-one Egyptian citizens in Libya by ISIL-affiliated terrorists. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and our support to the Egyptian government and people as they grieve for their fellow citizens. ISIL's barbarity knows no bounds. It is unconstrained by faith, sect, or ethnicity. This wanton killing of innocents is just the most recent of the many vicious acts perpetrated by ISIL-affiliated terrorists against the people of the region, including the murders of dozens of Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai, which only further galvanizes the international community to unite against ISIL.

This heinous act once again underscores the urgent need for a political resolution to the conflict in Libya, the continuation of which only benefits terrorist groups, including ISIL. We call on all Libyans to strongly reject this and all acts of terrorism and to unite in the face of this shared and growing threat. We continue to strongly support the efforts of the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary-General Bernardino Leon to facilitate formation of a national unity government and help foster a political solution in Libya.

Note that when the President urges "political solutions" to the problem of IS, he means specifically that the people being slaughtered and sold into rape slavery by IS aren't doing a good enough job welcoming IS in the "peace process" or offering enough power-sharing with these psychopathic rapists.

Also note that, consistent with the President's worldview, which is radical, leftwing, and sympathetic to third-world revolutionary and terrorist movements, no people but third-worlders and non-Christians can have the exalted title of "Victim," so once again the victims of Islamist terrorism are not identified by the faith that got them murdered.

Don't bother; it's irrelevant. If the Islamic State is calling the shots, then that's what matters, not how many Muslims support them or otherwise. 39 The most important thing to know about ISIL is that it was formed as a reaction to imperialist ambitions by Tea Party extremists.

The Koch Brothers and Ted Cruz have been exploiting loopholes in the Equal Rights Amendment to ship nuclear arms to Israeli settlers in the Mojave Desert. Because of this, more than 10 million Palestinian children have died from either atomic bomb attacks or radiation poisoning in just the past two months.

If Republican obstructionists in Congress don't pass legislation providing for a free college education for all, then ISIL will resort to more drastic displays of violence.

I wonder if that one will eventually be literal. A mark in the hand and forehead that you cannot do business without. Something like an RFID chip that you'd have to scan to make a purchase or run a business.

I know here in the US to some extent it's literal now. You can't have a job (unless you're Obama's dreamers) without paperwork.

The IRS has started seizing bank accounts of people who bank lots of cash transactions and then forcing them to go to court to claw it back. A farmer named Randy Sowers was recently hit by this. The IRS didn't prove anything in court before seizure, they just did it.

Horrific.

Drive by shootings and a mass execution where they herded a line of men to a blood caked dock, shot them in the head one by one, and pushed the bodies into the river.

This is nihilism on a level the world hasn't witnessed for a few decades.

oh for god's sakes the Yazidis aren't "Satanists" -- that's a silly slur invented by the Mohammadans.

They worship, among other gods, a Peacock Angel who has a some simillar backstory to satan, involving turning on the rest of the gods due to pride/vanity. But that peacock ultimately saw the wickedness of its ways and repeented and thus was ordered by God (the top god, the real one)to watch over creation as his sentry.

If you want to repeat Islamic nonsense like "The Yazidis worship Satan" that's your own business, but I personally think it's weird.

100 ISIS called the Coptic Christians "the crusaders" before beheading them.
***
When Islam raised the flag of Jihad and attacked the Byzantines, the predecessors of the Copts were, obviously, already in Egypt - which was Christian.

They had religious disagreements with the Byzantine Emperor though, and generally didn't spend much effort fighting against the attacking Muslims.

When the Christian powers finally responded and launched the Crusades in response, the Copts, as far as I am aware, didn't do much of anything.

So the notion of Copts as crusaders is about as far removed from history as one could imagine.

101 This 2013 Blaze piece takes an in depth look at Pew Research findings on muslims worldwide and their views on sharia law. Some key results are that majorities think:

1. sharia law should be the law of the land.
2. sharia law is the revealed word of God/Allah
3. Nonbelievers should be subject to sharia law as well.
4. There is a high level of support for stonings, amputations, etc.

So I call TOTAL BULLSHIT that the views of ISIS and Al Queada and so on are a small minority view. It's mainstream thought, dammit.

It's easier to wrap one's head around the madness when you reflect on the bulk of history in which peace was the aberration and chaos the norm.

The ascendant West big-footed the world colonizing and breaking up tribes, but it put an end to a lot of conflict.

It's inevitable now that the West has been chiseled hollow by the oikophobic Left, that the humanity is returning to its natural state.

I already explained that its Obama. When he was spawned the dark lord sat him in the chair, grabbed a hammer and a #6 punch. He placed the punch on his head and said ok listen carefully, "you will play *bang* 6 rounds of golf per week, so that's *bang* 6 hours a day for *bang* 6 days. Got it?"

167 As for Sally Kohn's idiotic comment, this piece does a great job exposing her as a lightweight, as if we needed evidence. They don't behead and rape to trigger any kind of response. They do it because it is the purest re-enactment for their prophet that they can do. In so far as it is tactical, as the article alluded to, it is because they believe that brutality is mercy. Because it gets people's attention. Obama calling them the JV team, and Sally Kohn's latest bullshit just send the message that we still don't even know who they are.

Their end goal is to be decimated, and they will keep doing what they are doing until it happens. I don't know what the answers are and what the response needs to be, but I know this softminded leftist rhetorical garbage only serves to convince these guys that their message isn't sinking in.

Don't bother; it's irrelevant. If the Islamic State is calling the shots, then that's what matters, not how many Muslims support them or otherwise. That whole package, he said, would include free housing, food, and clothing for all, though of course anyone who wished to enrich himself with work could do so."

209 I absolutely love the equivalence made between Catholicism and Islam. Catholicism wants you to be Catholic so you can get into heaven. To convince you to be Catholic, we are told to live good lives, follow the Big 10, love our neighbors as ourselves, and generally provide good example.

Islam wants you to be Islamic. To convince you to become a Muslim, they will threaten you, your family, and your neighbors, and then, when you still don't do it, they will cut off your head.

Great equivalence there.

If you are girl, you might get to enter a temporary marriage, which will allow you time to live so that you can be raped by some stinking filthy sodomite, but then, you got it, off with her head.

The left literally can not admit evil incarnate exists in this world. So when it shows up they are not only ill prepared to fight from Gramscian rot, but utterly unable to admit there's even an enemy at the gates!

TLDR version: Leftists undermined existing society to make it easier for a Marxist takeover and now Islamists are taking advantage of a weak society which is now so feeble it can't see evil licking lips in front of it.

Pharonic Egypt had perennial problems with "Lybia" in that the tribesmen would raid over the border, and at one period they had major incursions. Their solution was to destroy the invaders and lay waste to the borderlands to make the tribes go away.
There is an explanation that "in the end, after every other innovation has been tried, we go back to the traditional solutions". I suspect Egypt will be trying that one next.

They believe it because they believe they are the bully, and we are the bullied. They will dance around and call us names, while believing we are cowards for not taking their bait. They mistake a desire to not hurt, with the incapacity to. However, they also know (in the back of their minds if nowhere else) that if the shit came down, we would fight, bleed, and die to protect them.

I think the left can better be understood if you think of them as children. Seriously disturbed children, certainly, but children all the same. They have a lot of the same superficial understanding of ideas, coupled with a lack of understanding of consequence and cost.

They were both in their late years (70s) so Sarah did not believe and gave Hagar to Abraham. After Hagar became pregnant she showed contempt to Sarah. Sarah and Abraham then had Isaac. Ishmael mocked Isaac and Sarah had both Hagar and Ishmael sent away. God saved them in the desert and said he would make agreat nation from Ishmael. Jewish tradition is that Ishmael is the father of the Arabs.

Genesis 16:12 had this to say about Ishmael - "he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him"

Actually, the U.S. has never been up for longterm fights. The War of 1812 had little popular support. The Mexican War and the Spanish-American War were pretty quick affairs. Our involvement in WWI was only about a year or so. When the going got tough in the Civil War, there were plenty of people in the North that wanted an armistice with the South.

In WWII, it was only about 3 1/2 years from Pearl Harbor to Hiroshima. Iwo Jima and Okinawa were among the bloodiest battles in the Pacific, despite the fact that we were pushing the Japanese back on all fronts. I personally believe that without the atomic bomb, the casualties from an invasion of Japan would have been so horrific that a movement for a negotiated settlement would have arisen. After all, the Japanese military was no longer a threat to U.S. possessions by that time.

Then we had Korea and Vietnam, which were open-ended conflicts where our military wasn't allowed to win.

The lesson is that when we go to war, we need to go all in and fight to a decisive conclusion. Otherwise public support will waver and decline.

After a couple of decades of research, I came to the unpopular (at the time) conclusion that the Antichrist would be from the Muslim world, specifically the area that now includes Turkey, Syria, and northern Iraq. It's an old view and one that predates Islam.

Author and speaker Joel Richardson has popularized this view and backs it up with some serious research.
