Quasi-willowed on the last thread:
Here's an interesting blog post from John C. Wright. He's a science fiction writer often mentioned in the Sunday Book Thread: http://www.scifiwright.com/2015/01/word-fetishes Well worth reading both the article(it's not long) and the comments. It's about the progtard's tendency toward non-logic and the undefining of the easily definable so that they can get to do what they want to do. The whole undefining thing is a bit of a bugaboo of mine as it makes it impossible to have rational arguments and move forward. Wright explains that as well. Give it a look. Are Libertarians Looking For Results Or Congratulations? From the comments: Fist of Etiquette So I'm supposed to compromise my views and how I express them because the slavers and rent-seekers are too stupid to understand that they're slaving and rent-seeking ways are an affront to the very nature of liberty itself? Hyperion This issue is not that the unintelligent hordes do not understand the message, it's that it's not the message they want to hear. No amount of reexplaining to the 'statist' sheep will change that. The only thing that can change it is that one day they have their own moment of 'enlightenment' when they finally get it that they are immoral scum and that they can't live with that guilt any longer. *adjusts Guy Fawks mask to a jaunty angle* Posted by: Laurie David's Cervix at January 26, 2015 08:12 AM (kdS6q) 13

It's already been pointless to save since nothing is paying any returns unless you want to put it in the market. I have no problems with investing but I don't want to put my tiny little savings account that is there is some emergency comes up at risk like that. It's like Our Betters heard the story of the ants and the grasshopper and thought the ants were the bad guys. Huh. I haven't hauled this rant out in awhile. Lemme dust off. Okay. *clambers up on soapbox* I studied hard in elementary school to be ready for middle school because I had to be valedictorian in high school so that I could get into a good college where I studied very hard to get into law school where I studied very hard so that I could get a good job when I graduated. Then for many years I worked very hard at a job I hated with every fiber of my being so that I could pay my bills and put money away for retirement. Tell you what. You give me back every party I didn't attend, every drink I didn't drink, every drug I didn't do, every person I didn't screw, every pair of shoes I didn't buy, every book I didn't read, every meal I didn't eat, every hour I didn't sleep, every single bit of my life that I sacrificed in order to be able to take care of myself. ....and the previous part, where Hyperion was saying the 'immoral scum' had to have their individual 'enlightenment' to realise the guilt and etc.
That's prolly the only marked difference between the Liberals and Libertarians as currently defined, and notably what keeps them as individually quasi-Right. The Liberals want to force a collective 'enlightenment' for the same purposes while the Libertarians leave it to the individual. That also explains why the Liberal is the stronger version, of course. Other EU countries are now worried that these countries won't pay their debts. This is socialism laid bare, pure and simple. 'Tis true 'tis pity. Apparently, 'twas ever thus, too. The great blizzard of 1888 swept the West, and caught out a couple of dozen unfortunate souls. The NYC papers were right in the middle of an editorial campaign calling for the frontier to be closed, because it was too dangerous for people to try to live there, when the very same damn storm swept over New York and part of New England. Sixteen-foot drifts, hundreds died. New York's no better in the summer, either. The 1896 heat wave killed thousands, plus the horses oh god. Kipling was there, and sat on a rooftop under a parasol, wearing silks and a dampened pith helmet, sadly shaking his head at why men would go out in the noonday wearing thick wool suits. The San Francisco Zoo is offering the burned and spurned masses the chance to "adopt" a hissing cockroach or giant scorpion in honor of their special ex-someone for Valentine's Day. The zoo is highlighting two of its less-desirable inhabitants through the adopt-an-animal program that is usually used to raise money for the care of more cuddly or attractive creatures, such as penguins, lions and pandas. For $50 and up, donors can adopt a scorpion and have the zoo send a certificate and stuffed stinger to the person who inspired the adoption. The cockroach valentine that the zoo says represents the detritus of your love life costs $25 www.sacbee.com/news/nation-world/article8114904.html In San Francisco, everyone is a catty bitch, even the zoo directors. Honestly, if you take a metro region of what, 6-8 million, and just tell them to all run out and get bread and milk, you've essentially started a riot. As emergency advice it has to be right up there with the speaker-trucks yelling "Do Not Panic. Stay...in Your Homes!" which is always followed by screams, and Godzilla's foot.

Posted by: Don't worry, be Happy! at January 26, 2015 08:59 AM (+me+d) I think you misunderstand. This online bubble is owned and operated by an individual who has the authority (as owner/operator) to set the rules. You've broken them, repeatedly, unashamedly and blatantly. That's reality. That's truth. For someone who claims to seek reality and truth, you certainly go out of your way to ignore both.
