7 Two-dozen Republican politicians, nearly half of them at least considering a run for the White House, are descending on downtown Des Moines this weekend for the Iowa Freedom Summit, where they'll test their conservative chops before a sold-out crowd.

Hey Fox, if you are talking about "testing conservative chops" why did you put that Fat Shit on the top left.

Good for KY counties, but Fox; KY is not in the South. It is a border State.

12 Speaking of snow -- and we're getting a shitload right now here in eastern MA -- I see Choom Boy is changing his itinerary. He was going to go play in India for a few days, but now has to rush over to Saudi Arabia to express his condolences over the king's death.

Funny how the deaths of Americans (well, except for those belonging to Oppressed Minorities) and Frenchmen don't faze him, but let one of his fellow Muzzies die and he's off to bow and scrape.

13 Utilities are bailing on the $2.6B boondoggle known as the Cape Wind Project in MA. They got millions in federal subsidies and the project, like most all of Obama's green shit, is a massive failure. Wind power has a massive cost above everything else and no, the low price of gasoline is not what killed this project. Utilities do not use gasoline to generate power you dumb asses.

14 Good morning, Horde! Surgery yesterday was successful, although it took 4 hours instead of the estimated 1-2. The damage to the tibia was worse than they thought, so more bolts and rods were needed. I should be able to go home with Pooky today, and Pookette is currently being spoiled rotten by 4 sets of grandparents and great-grandparents. Now to see if I can get some rest before the orthopedic doctors start their evaluation....

15 The MD School for the Blind has halted a 10 year old program for bible studies for the blind citing church/State issues.

Note this from their home page:

Located in the northeast corner of Baltimore, The Maryland School for the Blind (MSB) is a private, statewide resource center providing outreach, school and residential programs to children and youth from infancy to age 21 who are blind or visually impaired including those with multiple disabilities.

Since they are a private school there are NO church/State issues.

89 Once again I just learned something that I believe I should have known before because it's not something that's could be considered trivial.

Every two years , a Congressman from Ohio submits a one line bill that provides that Mount McKinley will remain the name of the highest mountain in the United Staes. They have to do this because since the 70's Alaska has attempted to change the name to Denali, which is what Mt McKinley is commonly referred to in Alaska today. It means 'the great one' in some native language. Did not know that.

93 A commenter on a post at Weasel Zippers was saying that the American Communist Party decided awhile ago that it would be easier and smarter to just take over the democrat party rather than build a new party. I don't know if that is true, but if it is, it would explain how fiercely the Republican Party has fought off the Tea Party, and also why the RNC has decided to be the democrat lite party. They are no longer my party. and I have talked to lots of democrat voters who no longer think they will vote democrat.

IIRC, Thatcher did not attend Reagan's funeral in person, but rather sent a video tribute.
