President Snit-For-Brains Will Not Meet With Netanyahu When He Visits

I don't care if he does or he doesn't, but I am impressed once again at how Eighth Grade Mean Girls the "men" running this country are, with their never-ending snits and snubs and peeves and preenings.

They keep employing these Games of social aggression that boys stop playing at age ten. You know why boys stop playing them? Because at that age open violence, with consequences, becomes a legitimate issue.

As Conan the Barbarian observed: Barbarians tend to be polite people. The real possibility of having an axe buried in your head over a slight tends to make people act politely and respectfully.

But fighting is less common among girls, so they keep playing these Alpha Girl games.

So I'm just wondering: Precisely what sort of social environment did these Girlish Men grow up in where a corrective punch in the mouth was apparently never a worry?

80 Here's a weird thing. Former UFC fighter got tazed and arrested. He and his wife seem kinda paranoid. His car's lights were out or something, driving at night. Cops tried to pull them over. He drove an extra 3 miles till he found a gas station so the incident would be recorded.

Then, when he cops pulled him over he gets out of the car (cops don't like that in my experience) and demands the cops have to show him 3 forms of ID -- his wife makes the same demand -- to prove they are really cops and not fake cops.

They seem convinced there is some law where you can demand 3 forms of ID from a cop if he pulls you over, and otherwise you don't have to do what the cop says.

Never seen that claim before. No idea where it comes from.

99 School districts in Illinois are telling parents that a new law may require school officials to demand the social media passwords of students if they are suspected in cyberbullying cases or are otherwise suspected of breaking school rules.

The law, which went into effect on January 1, defines cyberbullying and makes harassment on Facebook, Twitter, or via other digital means a violation of the state's school code, even if the bullying happens outside of school hours.

A letter sent out to parents in the Triad Community Unit School District #2, a district located just over the Missouri-Illinois line near St. Louis, that was obtained by Motherboard says that school officials can demand students give them their passwords. The full letter is embedded below.

"If your child has an account on a social networking website, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, ask.fm, etc., please be aware that State law requires school authorities to notify you that your child may be asked to provide his or her password for these accounts to school officials in certain circumstances," the letter says.

174 I will make mere youths their officials; children will rule over them. People will oppress each other - man against man, neighbor against neighbor. The young will rise up against the old, the nobody against the honored. A man will seize one of his brothers in his father's house, and say, "You have a cloak, you be our leader; take charge of this heap of ruins!" But in that day he will cry out, "I have no remedy. I have no food or clothing in my house; do no make me the leader of the people." Jerusalem staggers, Judah is falling; their words and deeds are against the Lord, defying his glorious presence. The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves. Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds. Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them! They will be paid back for what their hands have done. Youths oppress my people, women rule over them. My people, your guides lead you astray; they turn you from the path.

180 Please, PLEASE, forgive me for this OT rant. (And please spare me from the barrel!)

I posted something similar to this last night on the Deflategate thread, and after watching a local sports show later in the night am more convinced this is what's going on.

So... I heard a former surpervisor of officials (Jim Daopoulos) speaking about this issue (NESN link - http://tinyurl.com/lpn5uyt). He's a big time "League guy" and seems to have a "always protect the shield first mentality". He said that he can't imagine how the balls would have gotten deflated along the sidelines, after the pregame inspection. For all 12 (remember all were low on pressure, 11 were about 2 PSI low) to be modified with all the cameras, NFL security people, League officials, etc, roaming the sidelines, he CAN'T IMAGINE HOW IT'D BE POSSIBLE.

Because it didn't happen that way. It's not subterfuge that happens on the sideline.

Everyone is saying the refs checked the balls before the game. Probably true. But they check like NASCAR monitors speeding down pit road (the speed limit, + or - 5 MPH). The NFL has an offical PSI standard on the books, but they still likely allow the QBs some room for comfort. So the refs check, maybe even with a pressure guage, but if a ball is "close" to the official standard and not, say, closer to half full, then it is ok'd.

Why do I feel this way? Because we've been hearing so many QBs and players and League people saying this is no big deal. That there are a lot of possibly dubious things done to the balls for a game. That it doesn't effect things enough. I believe that. The league must believe that, because even they are willing to let the home teams police the balls after the refs do their "inspection".

If it was so OMG!!! eleventy!!! important to the game integrity they would use one standard PSI for all teams, in all games, and keep the balls under lock and key so every one is assured of equal footing with no possible cheating.

But they don't. They like the QB to be happy. They like high scoring offenses. So if the balls pass the eyeball/squeeze test before the game (and are not squeezable like rolls of Charmin) then they are ok with it. Which is why Aaron Rodgers is comfortable passing an over inflated ball to officials and maybe they fix it, maybe they don't.

Because it's never been a big deal... until (...to be continued...)

181 The Colts game against the Pats in Nov.

Supposedly they felt after picking Brady off twice, that the Pats were underinflating the balls. They brought it to the league in a weekly grievance session the teams are allowed with the league. A behind the scenes kind of thing.

We're hearing chirping that the Ravens felt that some of their balls were messed with during their Playoff game in NE. That they may have alerted the Colts to be aware in their Playoff game against the Pats. They must've told the League right? (John Harbaugh was quick to come out against "deceptive formations")

But yet were only hearing about this now? And the NFL wasn't careful enough to keep a hawkeye on the Pats until half time of the Colts AFC Champ game?

No. It was never a big deal to the NFL because it's what everyone does. They don't have a rigorous inspection standard and everyone had been ok with that.

Until the Colts were tired of getting shellacked by the Pats.

I have a feeling that Bellichick/Brady/whoever on NE, likes to push their use of the inflation/deflation allowance to the limits. The Colts thought that it was a bridge too far in the Nov game, mentioned it to the League, it happened again in the Playoff game, so instead of dealing with it in unoffical League channels, they let it be known to their local sports reporter.

Why? Because it's easier to get action/retribution on an unsympathetic character like Teh Hoodie if it's thought he was cheating again. That's why Harbaugh was quick to take to the mic after his heartbreaking loss, crying about "cheating" and "illegal formations" (knowing they weren't). Toss accusations out there against the Pats with the Spygate history, and your loss looks more dubious. See, you weren't beaten. You were robbed by the fiendish Pats, pushing legality once again. (...continued...)

184 So NOW the NFL has to address this because the Colts let it go public.

The accaptable wink and nod inspection process, to help QBs and offense, will quietly be thrown under the bus.

The NFL will have to say the refs do all the right things before the game, as it is in the rule book, to try to maintain credibility (especially because they aren't the most trustworthy bunch already).

They'll say they can't exactly explain how this happened and are saddened that NE might do such a thing. The Pats will take fine/penalty.

Maybe the Pats did push even the acceptable tolerances too far, and a team that was butthurt from being crushed repeatedly wanted to extract their ounce of revenge. The Ravens jump on the bandwagon for the same reason. Because it's easy.

Belichick is an easy Scapegoat. The Pats are an easy target. It's like Dick Cheney and Haliburton. An "abrasive" leader, who isn't media friendly, with a powerful team, thought to be evil/corrupt already, and who will be hated even more. It'll make everyone feel better to pile on NE's "tarnished" reputation.

But this isn't an issue. That's why QBs are admitting how they feel free to doctor the ball. That's why players are saying it doesn't change an outcome. That's why an uber League rump-swab like Jim Daopoulos is saying this is no big deal. It does not affect the integrity of the game, or the balls would have one set PSI for everyone to follow, and the balls would be kept more secure after pregame inspection.

This is about, what is typically, inside the League politcs. It's about teams/coaches with grudges (much like Eric Mangina unleashing Spygate after going to the Jets). It's about trying to explain away horrible blowouts, and close Playoff losses. It's really just kabuki.

Telling the truth? Not being Petty? Keeping your word? Penalizing those who transgress? RIGHTEOUS Anger?

Rewarding those who ARE honorable?

Not allowing Cheaters to prosper?

All these things are necessary to the cooperation needed in Society.... and in modern society we depend on others MORE than at any other time.

But lies, and cheating, and stealing, and more importantly.... DOUBLE STANDARDS OF THE LAW... destroy the trust needed...

When a standard can no longer be enforced through punishment... it is no longer a standard...

If you had told me just a few short years ago that a sitting President
of the United States, running for re-election, would appear on a shock
jock radio show called "The Pimp With A Limp" -- and then be
successfully re-elected -- I would have said, nah, not buying it, too
far a reach, totally implausible. Americans want a certain degree of
gravitas in their leaders. Well, they used to want that. Not any longer.
The pop-culturization of the Presidency is yet another indicator that
21st century America is a failed state. Time to think about what comes
next, because the USA is over.

In fairness, Nixon appeared on "Laugh-In" in the early 70s. But that

Egad, I'm old.

Nixon appeared on Laugh-In as electoral outreach and try to come across as a guy who could take a joke. After all, Laugh-In could hardly be considered Conservative in its sympathies. He didn't go on the show so they could kiss his butt and tell him how awesome he was. That is pretty much the difference between Nixon and Obummer.

265 In fairness, Nixon appeared on "Laugh-In" in the early 70s.

I actually saw that! (yes, I'm old). The bit lasted about 5 seconds, and just consisted of a full-screen closeup of Nixon looking into the camera and saying "Sock it to ME?????".

It was funny, because the whole look-into-the-camera-and-say-sock-it-to-me was a running gag, and they just sprang Dick Nixon on us with no warning. Literally the last person you expected to do it, which made it a howl.

Because we've been hearing so many QBs and players and League people saying this is no big deal. That there are a lot of possibly dubious things done to the balls for a game.

I have learned a lot more about football handling the last few days than I ever thought I'd need to know.

Fresh out of the box footballs have some sort of plastic residue on them that QBs hate. The ballboys scruff up the balls to the particular taste of the quarterback. There's a whole subculture of ballboys and QBs that we'll probably learn more about in Brady's 4:00 presser.

People love to hate Bellichick. This issue is weak beer.

274 I have long held to the position that this is why women seem to be more mouthy and confrontational than men. But, nowadays, everything about our society is raising men to be women. Schools are designed for girls, and if boys don't behave like girls, they are drugged up or sent home. Also, there is a crusade against fighting amongst kids. Pretty soon almost all of the men raised by affluent or even middle class parents will be like this, with only the bottom rungs of society actually understanding how the real world works.

Every team is given the balls during the week to break in to their liking. The difference here is the balls were being tampered with after they were signed off on by the refs. That is a clear violation of the rules, and this is on Brady, not Belichick. He got caught doctoring the balls. I equate it with Gaylord Perry. He was famous for doctoring balls, and that didn't keep him out of the Hall of Fame. So let's just start calling him Gaylord Brady.

Does anyone know of a free app/program that allows one to design a room, floorplan, building (just basic graphics, not spec or anything)? All that stuff. A pro will eventually design it, but I'm required to come up with a basic model. So, any ideas? If need be, I'll pay for a program, but I don't need state of the art, so I figured there might be a good freebie out there. Not my area of expertise, so simplicity of use is paramount.

There's only one thing you need to know:

Wheelchair ramps.

Put them everywhere.

Wheelchair elevators too.

And every aisle must be extra-super wide to accomodate wheelchairs.

Also, disabled parking spaces in front.

And a dedicated wheelchair "driveway" from the street up the curb to the sidewalk.

And then throw in some more wheelchair ramps for good measure.

Seriously -- from experience, if you do not follow the most stringent ADA guidelines in any new business or structure in the Bay Area, you will be sued into oblivion.

Posted by: TheGhostOfSimonaHalep'sDDs at January 22, 2015 02:25 PM (S9rS1)<<<
Absolutely. I understand that. And that is taking the League and refs' (who are not necessarily the most confidence inspiring entities) word saying they were checked according to the rule book.

So... then they were doctored on the sidelines during the first half. With all the cameras and officials and security, etc, by someone. It had to have been observed. Right?

It's hard to imagine someone getting to ALL 12 balls (11 of which were "reportedly" uniformly 2 PSI under). At least without being seen, and being so accurate with 11 of the 12?

It could happen. I put no man/team on a pedestal. I don't trust the League, for many reasons. I don't really trust the refs (who constantly have to justify their worth after bad calls, this would be crushing). I can't say I trust Belichick/the team (past actions).
This just all seems too weird.

Posted by: Achilles at January 22, 2015 02:17 PM (TpeIH)"

There is an interesting history to that. In Europe, dueling was a privilege of the aristocracy. They carried swords and used them to defend their honor. Failure to defend one's honor resulted in social ostracism. Failure to duel successfully lead to death.

In America we were democratic so that everybody got to duel. As a practical matter, people at the bottom of society did not have to be responded to but middle class people did. Pistols were used because people with jobs did not have the time to stay proficient with swords. Dueling was not really legal anywhere but juries pretty much always voted to acquit if it had been a fairly conducted duel.

433 NGU there was a WSJ article that said the adminitration had deliberatly held up the munitions because they were upset about Israels operations in Gaza and wanted to stop it
Posted by: ThunderB, ShapeShifter at January 22, 2015 02:40 PM (zOTsN)

White House and State Department officials who were leading U.S. efforts to rein in Israels military campaign in the Gaza Strip were caught off guard last month when they learned that the Israeli military had been quietly securing supplies of ammunition from the Pentagon without their approval.
Since then the Obama administration has tightened its control on arms transfers to Israel. But Israeli and U.S. officials say that the adroit bureaucratic maneuvering made it plain how little influence the White House and State Department have with the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that both sides know it.

You mean this One?

A US military official said on Thursday that the stockpile, which consists of missiles, armored vehicles and artillery ammunition, was given last week.

The emergency arms depot is located at a classified site inside Israel.

The munitions are part of a program managed by the US military and called War Reserves Stock Allies Israel

They didnt ask for it from there but we gave it to them so we could rotate our stocks, the official said.

Bottom line: The US and Israel Military are very tight. And in the end, no matter what the Fredo Admin postured, no arms were withheld

I can totally believe a similar scenario occurs on the sidelines. Very lax oversight, and the craftier players/teams know how to get around it.

At the end of a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
where his comments were webcast, he was asked for his prediction on the
future of the Web. "I will answer very simply that the Internet will
disappear," Schmidt said.

"There will be so many IP addresses...so many devices, sensors,
things that you are wearing, things that you are interacting with that
you won't even sense it," he explained. "It will be part of your

inspiring entities) word saying they were checked according to the rule
book.

So... then they were doctored on the sidelines during the
first half. With all the cameras and officials and security, etc, by
someone. It had to have been observed. Right?

It's hard to
imagine someone getting to ALL 12 balls (11 of which were "reportedly"
uniformly 2 PSI under). At least without being seen, and being so
accurate with 11 of the 12?

Posted by: a Cowboy fan in NE at January 22, 2015 02:42 PM (LKBn6)

Praire dogging here again, but I did a quick calculation. If the volume of the ball is taken as a constant (because I have no idea how much the ball distends/contracts with pressure), then the internal pressure in a ball filled to 1 atm (chosen for simplicity, equivalent to 14 psi) at room temperature (25 C) would decrease about 8%, or roughly 1 psi, at equilibrium at 0 C (i.e., freezing). This would explain why the effect was more apparent in the second half, because the balls presumably would have equilibrated to ambient temperature by then.
I have no dog in this fight, and would go Islamic on the Patriots if they were caught cheating, but after doing this calculation another scenario can be imagined.

Supposedly... they used the set of 12 back up balls for the 2nd half, and they were really, REALLY, kept at the right specs.

Again. I think this is something that is normally a behind the scenes League issue, with a typically lax set of PSI/football prep guidelines. And maybe the Pats even took those loose boundaries and pushed them further too much for the Colts.

Look who's saying, meh, no biggie -- ther QBs, players, officials. Look who's NOW making the noise -- teams/coaches with an axe to grind. Not after the Colts Nov. loss. Not after the Ravens playoff loss. When they suspected foul play.

About that:

The army has all but melted away but the Sunni tribes, encouraged by al-Qaeda,

And A Certain Party tried to bullshit them that he knew All About Shooting, and practiced regularly with Secret Service at Quantico on M-16's.

I don't think there's really been any real investigation into whether NE cheated or not. If they were serious, it would have been done without the intervention of the press.

Investigate and if NE cheated, then throw them out of the super bowl and whatever other sanctions against them. Until that happens, I will look at this as just hype for the super bowl.

There's a guy who maintains the vehicle. Oil changes, checking tire pressure, other routine maintenance.

Honestly, when the "Your tires are low" warning comes on, I ignore it. Not because I don't care, because I do not wish to drive an unsafe vehicle, but because the warning comes on ALL THE TIME. Every time the wind blows, it says the tires are low.

And there's a guy who takes care of that. So why should I care?

Exact same thing here. Brady throws the balls, but there's a guy who takes care of the air pressure. That's his job.

Hawkins, it looks like he is going on a tear on the verbal distinctions our society uses in speaking of both born and unborn children. I think to justify his pro choice position? Yeah, might be good to stay away from that at the moment. Hopefully he'll get back here soon.

My mom miscarried in our front hallway when was I was a tweenager, surprise pregnancy, and I had to help take her to the bathroom, strip off her clothes, and wash off the blood in the tub. I thought she was dying, her eyes went completely dead for a while. Was one of the most frightening moments of my life.

No, it's not losing a baby, but it's no walk in the park either. I don't think Ace is trying to diminish the trauma of miscarriages, and the devestation that families feel, but I think the more nuanced point he is trying to make is getting lost in the translation that takes place in limiting your thoughts to 140 characters. The blessing and curse of Twitter.

Well, it has happened figuratively - by Bryan Sikes, green beret sniper:

"It's typical of 'men' like you to criticize the intestinal fortitude,

inferiority complex or something. But hey, it's okay cupcake. We snipers
are thick skinned and the efforts of world class turds such as yourself

Eli is like an idiot savant when it comes to throwing footballs. Give him a play, teach him the routes the receivers will run, and he can deliver the ball there.

What he can't do is adjust to a receiver who adjusts his routes, or handle any sort of situation where he must scramble and find an open man.

He throws so many interceptions, and passes that are nowhere near a receiver precisely because that pea brain of his cannot comprehend that the play might NOT unfold the way it was drawn up in the training room.

But other than that, yeah. I'd take Cutler over Eli.

615 Ace,

On the topic at hand....not sure how much punches in the mouth are thrown around any more in school. I had one fight I can remember and it was in the 5th grade. And it lasted about 10 seconds before it was broken up. And I was warned as was the other kid that if we did this again we'd be suspended.

In high school, I really don't remember seeing any fights. I assume they must have happened, I just never saw any.

It was funny because all the shit I saw in high school movies about the cool football players beating up the nerds didn't exist in my high school. The nerds were friends with the football players. Hell the nerds WERE the football players in many cases, ie the football players were smart guys with good grades who were taller and bigger than the smart guys who got good grades and were small/short. Nobody really gave a fuck either way.

I guess Obama's peeps went to the same type of schools.

The uncertainty of whether we can have a successful one.

There are health issues on my wife's side of the family that could sink the whole project. And with those in mind, my wife has been wary of approaching trying it again.

I have done my best to convince her that few things are ever set in stone, and pointed out cases when we see or hear of them of other miscarried couples succeeding.

Nevertheless, the fear is there, and I have to be delicate about pushing too hard, because I understand fully the fear of being hurt again by losing another.

So, it's not losing the first few in and of itself that lingers. It's the awful thought that this is Nature's final intent.

649 Since wife and I had that happen to us, and we're still hurt by it (to put it mildly), I'll pass on reading whatever cents Ace cares to add about it. Posted by: Hawkins1701 at January 22, 2015 03:19 PM (9T05o)I don't want to pry if you don't want to go there, but if you will why is it still so hard? My wife had one, followed by two healthy babies, and I know several women who had one on their first pregnancy. I think of it as the way a woman's body warms up for what it's going to have to do. Especially with 30+ first time mothers.
Posted by: Bandersnatch

There is significant loss. Who would this person been, had they lived? There is also risk to the mother. And the farther along the pregnancy, or the harder it was to conceive, the harder the loss.

I've heard that one third of all pregnancies fail; many fail very early, before much formation occurs.

he wants the balls deflated below the league standard, and neither did
Bellycheck. Posted by: BurtTC at January 22, 2015 03:50 PM (TOk1P)

Rush today said that in the Belichek press conf it almost sounded like he was putting the blame on Brady, which coaches never ever do for the sake of team morale, but that he thinks this is part of a longer con by both Brady and Belichek as far as playing the media game. Any thoughts on that?

Also, I will point out that Brady HAS to underinflate his balls; how else will they fit into his wife's purse where they belong?

Posted by: LizLem at January 22, 2015 03:55 PM (yRwC8)

653 I think all QB tell the equipment manager how they like their balls. And the league obviously does not care. I don't think it should DO them from the super bowl. But I don't pretend it was just a coincidence

One man can't win any superbowl. It is a team sport. Without a good offensive line, no QB will be worth a shit. And without a defense, the offense will seldom see the ball.

Dallas' defense came up wanting. (Something I've been saying about the OU team for the last few years.)

_____________________________________________________Not necessarily only single mothers. When I was a young mother I believed a lot of the crap that various literature/studies said was a good idea as far as helping my 4th grade son deal with bullies at school, I didn't want him to get in trouble for fighting. My husband went along with me, although he said that wasn't how boys resolved things on the playground when he was little. One particular boy who was bigger than my boy had been teasing him relentlessly and tp'ing our house etc., etc. One day my son had had enough and despite my encouraging him to work it out nonviolently kneed the bully in the groin in the hall at school. That kid never bothered my son again and my son didn't get in trouble at school. My husband was right, I was surprised and realized that parental help literature is no substitute for common sense and real life experience.

An environment where nothing bad could ever happen to Mommy's Little Boy and where he was never wrong - so if someone punched Mommy's Little Boy in the mouth Daddy (or Big Brother, if he had one) wouldn't teach him how to throw a right cross, Mommy would call a lawyer and sue the school.
