My Dad owned 2 Liquor Stores. The business is changing. People drink less and it is less socially acceptable to be drunk now a days and sneak a but grab or a kiss than it used to be. Not to mention drunk driving ( not that, that is a bad thing, jsut saying).

Upchuck Hagel, on his way out the door, has announced that the US will not renew its leases on bases in the UK at Mildenhall, Alconbury and Molesworth. Only Lakenheath escapes the ax.
If you want to fight expeditionary fights in the rest of the world, one key insight is that a lot of the rest of the world is constituted of places that are difficult to reach effectively and in a timely way without intermediate basing locations.
Of course, since a key unvoiced Obama goal is to cripple the American military's ability to engage in expeditionary battle abroad, shutting down as many of those intermediate bases as possible before 2017 plays right into the overall plan.

The French can easily arrest anybody who is on their watch list, fly them to Djbouti and escort them at gun point across the border into Somalia. Make these announcements that are aimed to the remains of his base, snip around the edges with memoranda that do not actually change a statute or make something actually legal when it isn't.** Do you think his majesty would lower himself to dickering and dealing like a filthy lesser? No - hence the meaningless decrees.
*Foreign policy is the one area a president can really move around in. Too bad obama isn't interested. (Or maybe good.)
**Saying "I will not prosecute now" in no way removes the threat of future prosecution because hey - promises and expiration dates. And if I were an employer I would keep that well in mind.

The big difference is where we believe Rights come from (Nature and/or Nature's God), and where *they* believe they come from (the end of a gun).
My right to free association is given by the simple fact I am a human being with self determination. That's what makes it a "right." No one "gave" it to me, and no one can take it away.
Their "right to a remunerative job" is granted by the power (read: monopoly on violence) of the United States government. It was given- it can therefore be taken away.

Actually, I suspect it gets a little to close to the real history (that the Left would like ignored) and points out that what people like Al & JJ want is almost 180 degrees off what MKL, Jr. was saying.

Everyone in Europe was buying Swiss Francs because they are scared of the Euro. This had the effect of making the Swiss Franc very expensive, which was killing Swiss companies and tourism. The Swiss tried to artificiality peg the Swiss Franc to a fixed Euro price - it failed.
Maybe they should have pegged it to gold, the dollar, or oil.

Actually, the British guns at Singapore could fire in 360 degrees and they could have fired on the Japanese attacking from the landward side. The problem is that all of the ammunition for the big guns was armor piercing for use against capital ships. It would penetrate a few dozen feet into the ground before the delayed fuze would set off the relatively small explosive charge.
The Japanese arrived at the outskirts of Singapore nearly out of food and ammunition but they promised that unless the city was surrendered immediately they would pull another Rape of Nanking on Singapore. General Percival bought the story and surrendered. He could have definitely held out longer but the British had no air forces and Japanese aircraft sank the Prince of Wales and Repulse suggesting that Singapore would be cut off and not receiving any relief by sea.
