Predictions

What US Intellegence thought the world would look like in 2015.

The future depicted in the National Intelligence Council's "Global Trends 2015" report, published in December 2000, contains numerous contemporary echoes, as my colleagues at Defense One have pointed out. There's financial volatility; anonymous cyberattacks; widening economic divisions; an increasingly assertive China; a WMD-wielding North Korea; growing illegal migration to the U.S. from Central America; a mercurial, authoritarian Russia that "remains internally weak and institutionally linked to the international system primarily through its permanent seat on the UN Security Council"; a Middle East tormented by "demographic pressures, social unrest, religious and ideological extremism, and terrorism," and shaped by the destabilizing impact of new technology and the allure of political Islam.

It seems like they did a fairly decent job predicting the trends but had quite a few noticeable misses.

What are your predictions for 2015?

5 I also predicted I would be first, and I was right. So far, 100% accuracy.

6 Other than that I'll probably backslide on my resolutions?

I think we can safely predict more EOs from Barky and no response at all from the gutless fucks in Congress.

16 I predict continuing lawlessness and laziness from Choom Boy. He will be busy complaining that Congress is doing the wrong things/nothing, forcing him to continue his executive actions.

Or maybe he'll just ignore Congress completely.

I also predict that the general public and media will continue to suck President Historic First'sİ toes, and no questions will be asked about his current and former felonies.

The "conservative" media will continue to take after Poppin' Fresh, whimpering mild criticisms as a counterpoint to their regular admonitions that, in fairness, things aren't so bad and we should be nice to the Democrats.

Marco Rubio and Teh Jebster will gain traction, as will Lieawatha Warren.

Oh, and the Mocha Messiah will set a new record for golfing and vacation days in 2015, all of which he will richly deserve for working tirelessly on our behalf.

Obama sends Putin a harshly worded letter, and says that he will "symbolically" enforce Article 5 of the NATO treaty requiring all NATO member states to defend another NATO member state under attack.

Yes and No. They have the best meat anywhere at fair prices. Sam's usually has a wider selection of goods. Costco will only give you two or three choices of an item by design. Costco's brand products, Kirkland, are as good or better than the top end brands. Grey Goose bottles their vodka.

Costco is sort of a cult. They sell stuff cheap and make money off your membership dues. Milk here is a dollar less per gallon than in grocery stores.

125 I can predict a few things with some security.

1. Screw all the movie hype! Mad Max IV, Avengers II, and Star Wars VII will rule the box office when they are in the cinemas, whiny critics and Oscar snobs be damned. Good guys versus bad guys, a linear plot that doesn't play gotcha games, stunts and action galore, and a little humor while the heroes catch their breath. That is what the masses want, not films about gay cowboys eating pudding.

2. Putin, ISIS, and PRC will get grabby with territory acquisition. Obummer will go golfing, Kerry will continue to be dismayed at 19th century behavior, and Biden will babble. In short, nothing will be done.

3. A major disease-maybe ebola, maybe something different-will be transmitted to the USA by illegal immigrants or improperly screened air travelers and threaten an epidemic.

4. Obummer will challenge the Republican Congress, meet some modest opposition to his demands, and then prance off in a huff to golf for a week and whine to the LSM.

5. The LSM will work itself in a tizzy to find a Democrat presidential candidate who is not named "Clinton", and the most RINO Republican candidate possible.

For example, over the holidays, BJs had Steelhead fillets 1-2lbs (no color addded) for their regular price of 7.99/lb, thats about $3 cheaper than I can get at other stores; but their turkeys and hams were about a dollar to a dollar fifty more than the supermarkets. 191 1. Republican establishment and a complicit media build up hype and try to force JEB, Christie, or Rubio on a voter base that doesn't want them. Republican internal splits heighten, 50/50 chance of new party. Tea Party label too damaged by media smear campaign to gain traction, new generic-sounding (perhaps Freedom) or mission-stating (as with UKIP) name adopted.

2. Situation with North Korea continues to deteriorate. Defectors attempt to put pressure on the international community to do something about the Kim regime, but it's Un himself that will force a confrontation.

3. Islamic State's whorehouses come back to bite them, and the emerging cases of Ebola in Mosul are the tip of a viral iceberg of STDs and other fluid-communicable diseases. Effectiveness of fighting force drops markedly, allowing Iraqi forces to regroup and regain some territory. Feckless Obama administration continues ignoring the biggest international crisis of the day.

4. Russia continues to show Obama for the fool he is. Exact nature of their mockery and trickery is hard to plot, but Putin's an ambitious bastard with a lot of tricks up his sleeves.

5. Monetary policy keeps getting weirder and weirder as the Federal Reserve exhausts its supply of tricks, in a vain effort to keep reality from catching up with the dollar. Severe financial shocks almost inevitable, but may wait until '16 or '17 to fully arrive.

6. Media will keep blaming Republicans for everything. If a third party is formed, the third party will be blamed for everything and the Republicans praised as a party of deep thinkers and statesmen almost on par with the Democratic Party in the media in an effort to keep the adverse bipartisanship of the current era alive.

7. The Left's war on the Middle Class will continue, threatening my new status as I've just barely established it. I will continue wishing that the government would just leave me alone and let me get on with my life.

8. Health insurance fuckery. It has not yet begun to screw everyone yet.

9. Christians will keep getting blamed for doing things 300 years ago that Islam is doing right now. Islam will continue to be praised and lauded as it's doing the very things that its useful idiots condemn Christianity for.

10. The word Fascism will absolutely not be used, despite the fact that the unholy alliance between the political class, their media cronies, and crony business has only ever been a feature of that system and no other.

And also, a shortage of greedy doctors who must be forced to take on more patients because of some memo, EO, or an obscure HHS regulation that threatens to pull their licenses if they don't.

I will add to that prediction by saying the riot will take place in a blue-state city that has lots of gun control, but the crime that gets the "activists" involved will involve an illegally owned and used handgun.

204 It was the end of the school year, and a kindergarten teacher was receiving gifts from her pupils. The florist's son handed her a gift. She shook it, held it overhead, and said, "I bet I know what it is. Flowers." "That's right!" the boy said, "But, how did you know?" "Oh, just a wild guess," she said. The next pupil was the sweet shop owner's daughter. The teacher held her gift overhead, shook it, and said, "I bet I can guess what it is. A box of sweets." "That's right, but how did you know?" asked the girl. "Oh, just a wild guess," said the teacher. The next gift was from the son of the liquor storeowner. The teacher held he package overhead, but it was leaking. She touched a drop off the leakage with her finger and put it to her tongue. "Is it wine?" she asked. "No," the boy replied, with some excitement. The teacher repeated the process, tasting a larger drop of the leakage. "Is it champagne?" she asked.. "No," the boy replied, with more excitement. The teacher took one more big taste before declaring, "I give up, what is it?" With great glee, the boy replied, "It's a puppy!" SURPRISE!

One or more major events [read: unignorable] will come to pass that will further discredit the "narrative as shaping tool" approach among more of those who were formerly not paying attention;

You don't have to have it for long and they measure deacceleration on stopping as they say that if someone is stopping too quickly, they're not paying attention and/or driving too fast.

Plus they measure how many miles you drive on average.

I drive very few miles and during the process was very careful about deceleration. took $12 a month off my bill so I can't complain.

Now if they put a gps tracker AND a vehicle monitor in the car, that's a different story.

353 Without reading any of the previous comments, here are my predictions for 2015:

1. The progressive agenda will be advanced, either by a little or by a lot
2. The GOP leadership will decide that the current progressive push is not the hill to die on and retreat
3. The GOP leadership will expend more energy and resources fighting conservatives than fighting Democrats.

Of course, these are my predictions every year, and every year I've gone 3 for 3.

Wahoo.

It is just too perfect for them. Three QB busts in a row might finally drive the Johnsons to sell (but probably not).

Spoiler alert - Scott Walker.
Harry Reid is caught with a 12 year old, Pelosi wants age of consent dropped to 12.
Tom Hanks is in movie you will love.
