I guess so. The operative word there being "voice", not guitar. Got nothing against Cobain. He was ok, and did fine on guitar. But he didn't stand out in any department, apart from perhaps "particular sound". I'm not a big Eddie fan, but FFS the guy was inhuman on technique, influential squared and had a defining sound... etc etc. I'd rather listen to Johnny Ramone... but I wouldn't try to rate JR ahead of EVH... that's just retarded.

This is what galls me about this whole RS BS, it's just more prof that the journalism I was once taught is gone. I studied journalism at a small college, and became the Editor in Chief of its student newspaper.

I was taught haughty principles like fact-finding, objectivity, and how to develop a finely-tuned bullshit detector. And to what end?

To give the public enough information so as to permit intelligent people to form opinions based on facts.

But that ship has sailed...into the middle of the Indian Ocean, and sank. Deep.
