So Boehner has a 2-day CR prepared, just in case. Hot Air has more details. One of the most disgusting details is how the media is praising Elizabeth Warren for attempting to shut down the government. As George Will put it on Bret Baier: When Republicans flirted with a shutdown, they were depicted as hostage-takers and suicide bombers; when ultra-liberal Elizabeth Warren does it, she's hailed as the second coming of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Kevin Glass wrote about this incredible reversal:This year, Sen. Elizabeth Warren wants to reject the bipartisan spending compromise to get rid of business-friendly deregulatory provisions. But this year, it's not about "Elizabeth Warren's plan to shut down the government." No, the media can't bring themselves to go there. Instead of "Why Democrats Want to Shut Down the Government," we get "Warren tells House Dems not to support omnibus." Instead of "Elizabeth Warren and the shutdown caucus," we get "Spending bill teeters amid Democratic discontent." Instead of "Elizabeth Warren Is Protesting the Shutdown She Asked For" we have "Elizabeth Warren Joinse Revolt Against Wall Street Deal In Government Shutdown Talks. Last year, Ted Cruz's push against the government spending deal was all about how Ted Cruz wants a shutdown. But when Elizabeth Warren threatens to torpedo a spending deal that will result in a shutdown, it's all about her courage in standing up to Wall Street and her populist movement against fat cats.Unbelievable. Added [rdbrewer]: Sean Davis, The Federalist: Remember That Time Elizabeth Warren Said A Shutdown Was “Anarchy”? Last year, she railed against Republicans and said they wanted to shut down the government in order to prevent food inspections, allow lead into children’s toys manufactured in China, and deform babies through their mothers’ use of unsafe morning sickness pills.Video at the link. I'm just gonna punch this up from where it got willowed on an earlier thread: 237 I think it was AllenG earlier this week who said something like "Communism, Socialism, all just euphemisms for Monarchy". As the worthy Jonah Goldberg points out, Nazism is just one more flavor of the same !#@$^*% poison. And they are trying like bloody hell to rivet it around our necks any way they can. And by "they", just to be clear, I mean both ostensible "parties" in this country today. I don't think we have the time to fix the R's, we need a new party now. Someone earlier today called it the Reality party. They are all lying to you, we are telling you the truth. Lieawatha has that political gift of being able to spew complete horseshit with an absolutely straight face and perfectly sincere voice.
She was interviewed on NPR at some length last year, and one of the things she talked about was her own childhood primary education, and how kids today don't enjoy an education of comparable quality because "this country isn't investing in children's futures any longer" compared to the good old days. Except that her point simply is not true. This country *is* and *has been* investing in children quite extensively. The USA today spends roughly _four times as much money_ per K-12 pupil, in constant dollars, than was spent per K-12 pupil in 1970. The problem isn't a lack of "investment" in education. The problem is that the unionized public educrats have wasted the flood of money which has been lavished upon them. Hiring and protecting lousy teachers, and pushing flawed pedagogical models. Not a word of which you would have heard from Warren's ever so sincere and ever so deeply concerned soliloquy about kids and schools. Posted by: torquewrench at December 11, 2014 08:28 PM (noWW6) 43

Good outcome here would be a short-term (Feb/March) CR.
Good media strategy, er, political strategy would be hammering home - every interview, first thing you say - how most of this is entirely avoidable false drama, as the GOP House has (how many, 8?) approps bills done and on Reid's desk since whenever. And that regular order in appropriations, infamously abandoned since 2009, is the real problem, and entirely the WH and Dems' fault (wrong, but close enough for polemical work). But - note well - as in all other big brouhahas, the GOP never expends one erg of effort to actually do politics - change the framework of discussion, demolish false assumptions of their press/Dem opponents, debunk specific lies and myths. Never one syllable beyond the most vapid talking point, never one action beyond (heretofore, disastrous) acceding to the demand of the day, kicking cans down roads, etc etc. Posted by: rhomboid at December 11, 2014 08:30 PM (afQnV) 51

Also, reviving an earlier line of discussion, what is clear by now is that this habit of omnibus spending bills and "continuing resolutions" is a horribly damaging one and needs to be done away with.
There is no reason why appropriations have to be done in one colossal bolus. Break it into smaller chunks. That way, budget arguments don't turn into giant dramas about shutting down the entirety of Fedzilla at once. Of course, doing it this way, with CRs and omnibuses, makes it easier (a) to prevent Fedzilla from being reduced in size, and (b) to stuff copious pork into the dark back corners of monster spending bills, as just happened with the latest Defense outlays. Retiring Representative Patrick Moran (D., Va.) said that Democrats got "virtually everything" they wanted in the cromnibus package, as he praised the bill in terms that could double as the conservative critique of the legislation. "In 20 years of being on the appropriations [committee], I havent seen a better compromise in terms of Democratic priorities. Implementing the Affordable Care Act, theres a lot more money for early childhood development the only priority that got cut was the EPA but we gave them more money than the administration asked for," Moran told reporters Thursday evening after exiting a Democratic caucus meeting. Rio de Janeiro (AFP) - A Brazilian man accused of stabbing a woman to death in a Rio suburb has confessed to have murdered 41 people, almost all of them women, "for the fun of it," police said Thursday. "He wanted to kill women -- white women, not black ones. He followed the victims, studying them closely before committing the crimes," said police commissioner Pedro Henrique Medina from the northern suburb of Nova Iguacu. The man was identified as Sailson Jose das Gracas, a 26-year-old whom police describe as a psychopath.

The MSM is not an excuse, just a factor. The GOP (and others) either do the (fairly easy) work of using the MSM to their own ends, or they have no purpose or utility.
You challenge every false premise, every time. Then THAT becomes the subject. You don't go along, you challenge every single lie and myth and distortion, at the first articulation thereof. Every time. Yes, those interviews become rather chaotic. And guess what? If you all do it, every time, that is all they have, and they must use it, and you start to dispel the clouds of distortion, bit by bit. I have counseled this and seen it done. It's easy (well, does require some verbal intelligence, at a level probably beyond many in Congress). A very very small, and limited, example of this was Rumsfeld's approach to questions. He frequently dismissed and corrected false premises in "questions". The press is, for practical purposes, a monolithic, hostile, unprofessional, adversary, increasingly staffed by people of limited intelligence. Treat them this way, manipulate them, challenge them, vilify them, as needed. But stop trying to rationalize incompetence, laziness, or unacknowledged sympathy with destructive and stupid policies by pointing to "the press". torquewrench: "There is no reason why appropriations have to be done in one colossal bolus. Break it into smaller chunks.
" Of course there's a reason. It's the only reason. BOTH parties want it. If they split it up, they'd have to justify spending Other People's Money and letting you know just how much more debt they want to pile onto you for every conceivable and inconceivable expenditure across the planet. I know you know this. The Federales know you know this. They. Don't. Care. It's now a Yuletide Dance. Don't do anything to expose endless corruption, fraud, waste, and expanse for the whole year and then "panic" at the last moment before vacation declaring "urgency." Failed. Government. So the other not well remarked aspect of the cromnibus is the huge panoply of "faith" groups which are in there lobbying like blazes to get amnesty spending included.
Some of that is due to genuine if misguided humanitarian impulses. Some of it is due to various churches hoping to increase the ranks of their own flocks via the new arrivals. The Catholics and the Mormons are increasingly notorious for just this view. And some of it is down to simple classic good old fashioned greed. These "faith" outfits are, many of them, lined up to trouser absurdly large amounts of money to provide social support services to the flood of people coming over the southern border. Hundred-million-dollar sized contracts are being let, and aggressively chased by church charities. For that we can thank George W. Bush and his idiotic concept of "faith-based initiatives". It was easily predictable, from elementary human nature, that this scheme would promptly degenerate into churches loudly whoring after Fedzilla bucks to provide paid "support" for Fedzilla actions, and that is indeed exactly what has occurred. Obama's a lame duck. Pelosi and Warren are in safe seats and will be on Capitol Hill for as long as they wish to stay; Obama is gone, history, vanished, poof, out of D.C. in just two years and one month. So his ability to rein in his putative allies on the Hill would be very weak today due to the clock, even if he had expended effort and political capital on building that ability in the first place. One benefit to all of this is the publicity given to Liz "Princess Running Joke" Warren. It looks like she's going to run in '16, partly because Hillary! is probably seen internally as too damaged. I see Warren as at least as bad as Hillary!. She has less experience, and is ever less in touch with reality. It's time to start carefully investigating her work history and publications. Warren needs to fail, fail often and fail badly; 30 points or more. My guess is that at least one of her jobs will be proven (i.e., documentation on a job won only on her ethnic status, as otherwise ...) to be fraudulently obtained. Her publication(s) is(are) suspect, bit no one has done conclusive research ... Can we get her degree recalled? In the meantime, which is worse; the CRomnibus as it stands, or a 2-day bill that gets us into January, where a new and very different Congress will have power? If Warren can get us a second chance in January, ... ok. If Boehner looks bad in the meantime ... perhaps the Speaker and Majority Leader in January will be Not-Boehner, as enough R's see that B. is clearly not up to the job ... or not an R ... or both. "When we have a criminal trial, we actually interview the witnesses, the people who were there, and often the people involved. We don't rely entirely on documents, because you need to know the context, you need to know what was in the mind of the person referred to."
That did not happen in the Senate Intelligence Committee's report: "When Feinstein is asked about this, her answer is, there was a concurrent investigation by the Department of Justice and, thus, we were not able to interview them. Well, that is total rubbish, because the investigation ended in 2012. It's now the end of 2014. Problem it is probably already too late to organize a viable third party. The fixers in both parties have jiggered the candidate selection process with multiple blocks to running against the "Uber-Party". Add to that thousands of newly gifted illegals voting in every precinct within driving distance in 2016 and I think we can hang it up right now and go home in defeat. What we have here though is proof positive that a third party was long overdue. Posted by: Hrothgar at December 11, 2014 09:40 PM (fL/7/) 367

That's the claim. Reality: It's another Reid-Schumer-GOPe lard-fest, with nary a conservative idea in it (other than lowering IRS budget, that's kinda cool)... and giving some knick-knacks to K Street lobbyists is *NOT* 'pleasing your base' unless you've been in DC so long you screwed up what the meaning of your base is. I despise the Republican Party.
They have sold our country down the river at every single turn. I am very close at this point to committing to not vote for another Republican of any sort. That is the next stage for me and millions more like me -- not refusing to vote for establishment/non-conservative Republicans, but refusing to vote for any Republicans at all. To earn my vote, conservatives would have to be a part of another party entirely. That's what I'm considering at this point -- six years ago, I took the first step in refusing to vote for another non-conservative, and I've been confirmed in that choice at every single turn over a six-year period -- best decision I ever made. The Republican Party -- through its economic, foreign, military, domestic, and every other segment of policies -- is actively damaging the country. Every single day. Now that bills can move from the House to the Senate and then get voted on, 2015 will be truly interesting. I expect no one will be truly happy with any budget bill of any kind; I am certain that any will have things I want, things I do not care about, and things I hate. But to have the Democrats screaming and squabbling in their caucus about a budget bill (however it is termed, set up, or described) is so much enjoyment.
Welcome to the wonderful world of compromise progDemocrats; welcome to the world of "you get this, and we get that". Welcome to the world of realpolitick, Washington-style. The fighting will go on in skirmishes around everything you progDemocrats hold dear, and you will see them eroded away or altered beyond what you ever thought possible as part of a deal to get something else or keep that other thing going. Their tears will rain down like some sort of liquid from vaporous masses above the ground - and I shall rejoice in that even if I lose battles; I will still rejoice in the wails from the worshipers of Baal. *Charles Bronson voice* It ain't over yet. *Charles Bronson voice* Posted by: Mikey NTH - Check Out Our Humbugs at the Outrage Outlet! Moe Lane's "Practical Things to Do" post sums up what I think should be done.
I would add "Stay focused, do not indulge in any histrionics, and set up each thing for the remaining House and Senate Democrats to look over and vote on." In short, act like adults confronted with a mass of spoiled children. Stay calm, state what you have and what is open for compromise, and just do that. (I have no polling data to support this other than my own observations, but adults seem to like calm and quiet so they can get on with the rest of their lives; screaming and carrying on in Washington or their state capitols tends to bring out the irritation-reaction from them; think of it as the 'dad-turning-around-in-the station-wagon' reaction. Dad doesn't know who started it, but if the crap doesn't stop he will reach back and start swatting randomly, and mom has already folded her arms and is not open as a Court of Appeal. Describing politicians as unruly children set off to cut the grass and rake the leaves is actually generous to the politicians - describing them as squabbling siblings in the backseat on that five hour drive to the grandparents' to see the cousins is far more accurate in how most view them.) As someone firmly in the "Let It Burn" camp I welcome Cromnibus. The removal of the Dodd-Frank prohibition on federally-insured institutions trading derivatives without any capital behind them is literally the seed bed of a financial apocalypse.
Basically the taxpayer is now on the hook for untold trillions in derivative losses. This sensible provision required any institution that wanted to trade derivatives had to trade them in non-insured subsidiaries. Those subsidiaries could fail without government consequence. Well now those failures will have dire government consequences. And all this to placate Wall Street weasels who crashed the global economy, fleeced the American taxpayer for hundreds of billions and who don't even vote Republican or support conservative principles. Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
