Hate Speech From A Religious Fanatic [OregonMuse]

121613cth4.jpg
How About A Little Cthurkey?

Reich-wing fascist tea-bagger George Washington is spewing dangerous religious propaganda:

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and - Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness":

Has he never heard of the separation of church and state? This is nothing but hate speech.

But wait, it gets worse:

Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

The totalizing meta-narrative of white hegemony being asserted here is absolutely suffocating. There's nothing here about women, black slaves, or transgendered native Americans. They must be content with the crumbs dropped from the white man's table of privilege.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

Go. Washington

This is a declaration of war against non-white, non-male, non-heterosexual minorities. Obviously, the white European institutions of bigotry, intolerance and greed must be upheld at the expense of the oppressed and disadvantaged.

What a h8r.

Um, no. The First Amendment was part of the Bill of Rights, written by Madison and Mason. The movement for religious freedom had a long tradition, and was being championed by Jefferson, who had gotten a similar law passed in VA, and considered it a more important accomplishment than being elected President. The Amendment was ratified by 3/4 of the states. It was hardly the work of one anti-Christian Founder somehow playing dictator. Shame on you!

Separation of Church and State was (and is) about PROTECTING Christianity from the government, as much as anything else. Ironically, the same people who readily recognize the incompetent and corrupt nature of the government are quick to have it push their religion for them.

47 I'm bored, so suffer me this. That meal might actually be a somewhat realistic first Thanksgiving feast. Wild Turkeys were everywhere, the Pilgrims had accumulated about fifty pigs by 1623, though I don't know how many they brought, or captured or traded for. There are tons of squid at Cape Cod, but Octopi are much rarer, and I doubt they caught them in any significant numbers, the crab legs are totally realistic, but they would have been normal sized blue crabs or something, not those gigantic things.

Separation of Church and State was the notion that there would not be a "Church of America" where there would be fusion between the govt and clergy as is essentially codifed in Jolly Ole'...

Jefferson was a complex fella and he is the founder the Atheist assault by the commie symps focus on.

Jefferson would never have dreamed of openly assaulting the faith in the way the current crop of Politicos and Judges do, BUT his assinine personal correspondence was the basis for the notion that ANYTHING on the public government square cannot be tied to "the faith."

Of course the men and women in black have creatively interpreted even that miscarriage of the interpretation of the 1st amendment into applying only to CHRISTIAN faith given they actually allow open evangelism by Islam under the auspices of "cultural enrichment" on the public school dime....

I must have missed the reciprocal "Catholic for a fortnight" or "Shinto for a half month" classes...

The 1st amendment codifies protection of faith from encroachment BY government, NOWHERE in the Constitution or Bill of Rights is "separation of Church and State" mentioned....

You know ODDLY this is an example wherein SCotUS was willing to do backflips to try to "contextualize" what the Founders meant by using period literature...

ironically using the guy they were thrilled to have off wanking to the French Revolution's having the groundwork laid....

You can't convince liberals to accept the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers for context b/c "those weren't ratified" but like Roe v Wade they will unashamedly reach for ANYTHING to get their way.

I look forward to whatever comes next....because THIS shit sucks.

84 May as well give a Progressive a little air-time. FDR, 1942:

A Proclamation
“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.” Across the uncertain ways of space and time our hearts echo those words, for the days are with us again when, at the gathering of the harvest, we solemnly express our dependence upon Almighty God.
The final months of this year, now almost spent, find our Republic and the Nations joined with it waging a battle on many fronts for the preservation of liberty.
In giving thanks for the greatest harvest in the history of our Nation, we who plant and reap can well resolve that in the year to come we will do all in our power to pass that milestone; for by our labors in the fields we can share some part of the sacrifice with our brothers and sons who wear the uniform of the United States.
It is fitting that we recall now the reverent words of George Washington, “Almighty God, we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy Protection,” and that every American in his own way lift his voice to heaven.

Some of the time, when some of them get upset, there is an undercurrent of anti-white racism or anti-American talk from leftists there and non-whites. If the opposite happens, all hell breaks loose, but leftist haters can say what they want. Minor stuff, but it is obvious to me. I said I thought it not right, I get lectured by two people who are trolling. Said people (implication being like me) are afraid to address racism, make it worse etc. Eek.

There are bad people out there who want to kill and be killed, and will kill ANYONE, for the flimsiest of reasons. All too often the people who are trained to detect these people -- by, I don't know, responding to a burglary call and seeing two people walking down THE MIDDLE OF THE F*ING STREET for instance -- put their lives on the line to weed these shitbirds out of society. Before someone without a baton, without a can of mace, without a service revolver becomes a victim.

99 Faced with potential starvation in the spring of 1623, the colony decided to implement a new economic system. Every family was assigned a private parcel of land. They could then keep all they grew for themselves...

This change, Bradford wrote, had very good success, for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been. Giving people economic incentives changed their behavior...

Once the Pilgrims in the Plymouth Plantation abandoned their communal economic system and adopted one with greater individual property rights, they never again faced the starvation and food shortages of the first three years. It was only after allowing greater property rights that they could feast without worrying that famine was just around the corner.

108 For many, many, many years, anyone using the term "racism" in any assertion about socio-economic or law enforcement matters has been automatically dismissed as stupid, or racist themselves.

In analytical terms, racism is not a material factor in any - any - social phenomena in the US today, nor has it been for a long time. Except for the very toxic and prevalent form of racism seen in the black community, some of the Hispanic community, and (though decreasingly) in the upside-down insane social engineering policies of the state (affirmative action).

Oh - and the weird cousin of racism, illiterate white guilt, which has helped bring the country to its degraded state (absurd and disastrous "president", histrionically lawless, racist, idiotic attorney general, unbelievably degraded corrupt race-based set-aside congressional districts and cities, etc).

There are so many identifiers for ignorant, not very intelligent, not very familiar with history or logic, etc., these days, but believing "racism" is of any importance is a screaming one.

I understand that to a point. I have experience with a cop who tackled a friend and me off of our bicycles because he wanted to check to see if they were stolen. I guess I was 13 or 14 at the time. Totally unnecessary. I told my Dad and he filed a complaint but nothing ever came of it. Hindsight tells me that this fella was a bad cop.

112 Cop shootings, meh. That is, I am not aware of any effort to disaggregate the incidents enough and study the details to make any intelligent generalizations.

There are, always have been, always will be, obvious excessive force or reckless incompetent cop shootings. There are, always have been, always will be, obvious righteous shoots against idiotic attackers (Brown case is as clear as it gets, for example, not something that probably should have even gone before a GJ).

Impossible to draw intelligent conclusions from the readily available examples of both phenomena we see anecdotally all the time. However it is easy to use the topic to vent one's bigotry/pet peeve/pet theory.

115 Hah! Just talked to my family, and apparently the topic Dad can't shut up about this year is my new job. He's perfectly healthy for a 72 year old guy, but he had a stroke in his fifties, and ever since his recovery, he's had this habit of lapsing into saying the same thing over, and over, when he's in a crowded/family setting, like it's new information. Not Rain Man like, but just enough that you sort of have to look around at everyone, and kind of be "pretend he didn't say the same thing an hour ago". Seriously, it seems new to him every time he says it. Most years it's about my nephews Sports experiences, occasionally it's about some weird crime story my cop brother told him. I am vicariously enjoying their being subjected to my name twenty times over the course of the meal.

Posted by: Lincolntf at November 27, 2014 03:38 PM (2cS/G)

116 One thing I know: there may be bad shootings by cops, but that is not a concerted, nationwide effort to increase them, or celebrate them. There is a celebration of the opposite though. They get mentioned at the UN, speak at universities, and have songs written about them. This country has had a slow-mo leftist somewhat (mostly) non-violent civil war going on for decades. We are nearly done when we have a President actively supporting cop-killers and racist mobs.

Before someone without a baton, without a can of mace, without a service revolver becomes a victim.

You failed to address the issue. Sure, they have a dangerous job. Not as dangerous as logging, or farming, or commercial fishing . . . it's not even in the top ten. But it's more dangerous than accounting. The point was, the cops kill too many innocent people, not that they don't kill enough bad guys.

That wasn't the sign of the cross, he's picking at himself due to the cocaine or meth.

160 God bless George Washington!

Has TFG (again) declared it a 'national day of service' for us to 'be our brother's keeper' yet - or is he finally done with all of that cleaning inner-city playgrounds and painting homeless shelter b.s. now that there are no more elections of consequence for him?

165 The point was, the cops kill too many innocent people, not that they don't kill enough bad guys.

My point is that some people transition from good guy to bad guy -- from mild sociopath to full blown psychotic -- and usually the first one to notice or have the 'problem child' brought to their attention is a cop. That's not a job anyone should envy.

166 Chavez.
Shoulder has been burning and I went to pain doctor and had injection in neck Monday.

It is worse than usual from injection and I stayed home for Thanksgiving with my brother downstairs instead of going out to with my friend

168 Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword....wait there's even more Now what if i told you there was a simple Wordpress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That's right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
