I sometimes wonder if people who put on venues like this shouldn't just ban any atheists from coming in at all.

And I have actually seen that Nutcracker done by the SF ballet. I didn't think it was religious at all. But they didn't have a Christmas tree on stage either. And Christmas trees are not Christian either. They have their roots in German Pagan festivals. In the US religious orders initially banned them.

The ONT bits about the '92 riots brought back memories...I lived in L.A. then, and got to watch it all happen. The police are searching for a man who entered a Citibank ATM vestibule at 1 Court Square Long Island City Monday and demanded money from a patron.

When the victim refused, the perp evidently swung a sock with a brick inside, striking him in the head. The miscreant fled without money and the man was evidently okay, refusing medical attention.

As we well know, the media was pretty quick to put out plenty of suppositions in the case, and they reported these suppositions, based upon half known facts or unverified personal accounts, with an obvious vested interest in the outcome of this case. Why? Why THIS case? Honestly, people need to chill out, analyze the data themselves - i.e., primary sources - as opposed to falling for yet another media distorted crusade.
