College Football Thread

The most important thing about a blog post here at the HQ is the title, according to the AoSHQ style guide which is mostly written on the bathroom wall. It should be informative and pithy.

Check.

Today's top ten games all times Eastern:

Charleston Southern (who?) at Georgia (10), noon
Indiana at Ohio State (6), noon
Ole Miss ( at Arkansas, 3:30pm
Boston College at Florida State (3), 3:30pm
West Carolina at Alabama (1), 4pm
Colorado at Oregon (2), 4:30pm
Oklahoma State at Baylor (7), 7:30pm
Vanderbilt at Mississippi State (4), 7:30pm
USC (19) at UCLA (9), 8pm

TCU (5) idle

If you're making picks or placing bets always remember - if you don't think too good, don't think too long.

Later morons.

22 I'll be listening to the Wake game on the radio. They're my adopted hometown team, and they've had one good year since I've lived here, back when Riley Skinner was the QB, 2008 or 09. They have great, loyal fans who show up to watch and tailgate every week, but it's not much fun when you're always leaving as a loser. For their sake, I'm hoping Wake can squeak out a win.

108 Nebraska - Minnesota game is good.
You seldom see a field goal attempt from the 6 yard line blocked and returned for a touchdown.

Instead of 14-10 Nebraska, it's now 21-7 Nebraska. That's HUGE. GBR!!!

They get a million bucks to play hard but fair and not injury anybody. It's the role of the D1AA schools and builds their program.

----------
Iran gets the bomb and it's not just a playing field they're going to try to level. I would hazard to guess that there will be a lot of level ground. All of it radioactive.

126 Some of the docu-dump Holder emails from Judicial Watch.

Docs: Adviser Tells Attorney General Holder How to Manipulate Press on Fast & Furious
http://tinyurl.com/nj7thu9

Matthew Miller to Attorney General Holder:

1. Send a letter to the Hill explaining what happened. Put in context the amount of information you get every week, say that you don't recall reading those bullets or being aware of Fast and Furious at any time before early this year, but in any event, you certainly weren't aware of the gun walking aspect of it until the news broke earlier this year (at which point you took immediate steps to have the IG investigate, etc.).

...

2. Find a way for you to get in front of a reporter or two about this. You don't want to call a press conference on this because it will blow things out perspective, but if you have any events in the next few days (preferably tomorrow), you could find a way to take two or three questions on it afterwards. Or if that's not easily doable, you could find a way to "run into" a couple of reporters on your way to something. Maybe Pete Williams, Carrie, Pete Yost -- that
part can be managed. Most important is that you're in front of a camera in a relaxed manner giving a response you have rehearsed ... It would be ideal if those two things happened in the same day so you didn't have two news cycles of responding -- you want to do it all at once. There may be things you need to do to go on offense as well, but I think most important right now is that you answer the charge about covering this up. Then you can move to offense.
