Na. It either assumes the Democrats are dumb (and we may not like them, and Joey Choo-Choo may be really stupid, but they're not all dumb), or that their inevitable court-action would fail.

Because all it would take is one illegal-turned-legal who turned 18 and "wanted to do his civic duty to his new country" to get a court case and get that provision overturned on 14th A grounds.

I think I could get behind that.

The Methos Amnesty plan:
You can stay, but you pay tax on all income at the maximum rate for all categories of income.
You didn't follow the lawful rules for immigration so you face the following consequences:
You are ineligible for federal benefits for life.
You are ineligible to vote for life.
As you are not an American, no Constituional safeguards apply to you, so for example you may not bear arms, you may not assemble, and you may be subject to monitoring at any and all times.
In the event of grievances, take it up with the Mexican consulate.

Dude! That was like one, two weeks ago.

Posted by: Tommy Vietor at November 21, 2014 02:04 PM (jkeQO)

89 Well, with Ferguson apparently about to heat up, one promising target
for subpoenas would be the the Community Relations Service within DOJ. Which had operatives on the ground in Ferguson within a day of the Michael Brown shooting.

This secretive squad (so secretive that they have refused to divulge
their names when dealing with Ferguson officials other than to tersely
say "Federal officer") report directly to Holder himself.

CRS worked very hard behind the scenes to whip up tensions in the Martin-Zimmerman shooting case. They've behaved similarly here.

When CRS aren't interfering destructively in places like Sanford and
Ferguson, they're casually and repeatedly violating the Hatch Act. They were all over the country in 2012 pushing Obama's re-election with black voters. Including a presence at the Democratic convention itself.

So, um, from whence does this shadowy dirty tricks operation originate? Is it something Obama and Holder cooked up starting in '09?

No. It derives from the original 1965 LBJ era Civil Rights Act.

But wait! Didn't the Civil Rights Act expire? It had a built-in sunset date.

Yes. It certainly did expire. And then it was re-authorized at the express behest of President George W. Bush. Who signed it back into law in 2006 after a Republican-controlled House and Senate passed his request to reauthorize.

So really, the CRS under Holder is a case of the racially radical left
savagely wielding a weapon with which the Bushite establishment right knowingly
re-armed them.

And the country thanks to Bush is stuck with that crap for long years yet to come. But at least what the GOP could do now to atone is to get out a big
bright committee-investigation spotlight and shine it into the dark
corners where CRS quietly operates.

Use subpoenas to name these anonymous operatives. Solicit testimony about their inflammatory activities. Show everyone in the country what has been going on with CRS's abuses under color of authority.

Also included in that is the ability to speak English and have a fundamental knowledge of US civics.

The paying taxes crap is another red herring because it is likely none of these will ever pay a nickle of taxes. In fact, they will collect EIC and be another set of the FSA.

Also, a condition should be that the so-called anchor baby interpretation is hereby and forever forbidden. All babies born in the US should have at lest ONE parent who is a citizen before they can be considered a citizen. If not they should go through the same consitions as legal immigrants to get citizenship.

Also, all of the green cards issued shall have a photo ID on it and the warning that they are a non-citizen embossed on the card.

184 Obama's after the vote of the Anchor Babies, who he thinks will now vote as directed because he stood up for their illegal parents. Obama was coy last night about what he'll do other than not deport the illegal parents of Anchor Babies which was rarely going to happen anyway. I doubt many illegals will go through the trouble of getting Green Cards if they're offered. So this is all for show in Obama's Long Game. He's trying to take over the Democrat Party by owning the Black vote and the Green vote. He wants to add the Anchor Baby Brown vote which would give him a lock.

Not to mention that among immigrants who do notionally "pay taxes", or at least file taxes, corrupt abuse of the system is absolutely rampant. There are tens of millions of phantom "dependents" being claimed on individual tax returns, dependents who are wholly fictional.

Those filers end up with a fat EITC rebate. Which is why they lie when they file. And of course enforcement and verification are nonexistent.

So really, bringing more such persons into the tax system will be an utter fiscal disaster. It'll drive the federal finances even further out of balance.

I think hashtags and memes are reaching the LIV's whether they like it or not.

297 Jaw-Dropping Study Claims Large Numbers of Non-Citizens Vote in U.S. http://natl.re/1yvw5j5 via @NRO

How many non-citizens participate in U.S. elections? More than 14 percent of non-citizens in both the 2008 and 2010 samples indicated that they were registered to vote. Furthermore, some of these non-citizens voted. Our best guess, based upon extrapolations from the portion of the sample with a verified vote, is that 6.4 percent of non-citizens voted in 2008 and 2.2 percent of non-citizens voted in 2010.

Posted by: Costanza Defense at November 21, 2014 02:46 PM (ZPrif)

298 That 6.4% was based on a survey. And since most sane people don't admit to commit a felony crime, it's much, much higher than the 6.4% who admitted to voting illegally.

Then how do they know they are illegal? I'm not arguing with you CD, I agree that there are people voting illegally. But if someone is going to put out percentages, etc. then someone has recognized those ballots were falsely submitted and then they should be blocked out of voter rolls.

This is why, IMO, the Dems are so visceral about voter ID and wanting same day registration. Without being able to vote without ID, being able to cast a ballot the same day your register so that it cannot be verified, it makes illegal voting much harder.

311 Fiscal Times via HotAir link: It's mostly a piece on what a pos Gruber is, but this was interesting:

...This tendency toward selective disclosure has antecedents in Obamacare itself. In the second year of open enrollment for the insurance exchanges, top officials have recently urged customers to shop around for new insurance deals, rather than auto-renew their old policies. Obamacare subsidies are tied to a benchmark of the second-lowest plan available in the marketplace. If that benchmark changes, even if a customer's auto-renewed plan doesn't raise prices, they will lose some of their subsidy benefit, causing cost spikes from 30-100 percent in some cases, according to a study from consulting firm Milliman.

Auto and home insurance generally doesn't work this way, because of the lack of ties to federal benefits. For the consumer, this means digging through insurance options, figuring out if the new plan covers the same doctors as the old plan, having to weigh adapting to a new network over paying a higher price. This basically imposes a tax on people's time. (And let's hope that back-end difficulties don't cause people to be put into two plans at once, or get lost in the system.)

hehe

Voter ID gets all the attention but I think early voting is the real source of Dem fraud. Those ballots sit there for weeks and weeks just waiting to be fucked with.

And mail in ballots....ugh...might as well just add 2% to the Dem right off the bat.
