I had a professor who's was telling me that his son got married to a Mexican, and they were having trouble getting her green card to get into the US.
(The how of this story is a bit disjointed, I think he was a solider stationed in Mexico? Do we have bases there? Unimportant.)
Anyway, he was really pissed off. At one point said he seriously considered either hiring a coyote to get her across the boarder or just doing it himself (he's actually probably capable of doing it, he's one of those "outdoor survivalist" types.)
IIRC the time it took to get her to the US was measured in months after the wedding (and they started before that.)

(that's probably the biggest lie of all. He will insult us with a lot of bullshit about how illegal aliens will be required to submit "proof" of the many years they have lived in the U.S. What he won't say is that nobody in the government will ever verify that "proof" and that it will mainly consist of checking a box on a form -- a box that all the illegals know in advance will never be verified. It's a total scam, just like when Obama promised that there would be "background checks" done for all the DACA amnesty recipients -- to ensure we weren't giving amnesty to a bunch of criminals and gang-bangers. DHS has already admitted that they did NO background checks -- just stamped "approved" on the amnesty applications and took the illegal aliens' word for whatever they put in their application -- because illegal alien criminals and gang-bangers would never LIE just to get amnesty, right?)

I have a brother who lives in Portland, Oregon where armies of government bureaucrats justify their existence every day by harassing the ever shrinking number of businesses trying to survive in that hostile environment. The only defense against this seems to be for the foreign born business owners who suddenly forget how to speak English when in the presence of a government worker. My brother related an entertaining vignette where he had been talking to the Chinese owner of some store when a city inspector came in. Instantly, the fellow dropped into barely comprehensible pidgin, telling the government guy, "You talk my brother. He speak good English." Finding the brother, of course took quite a while and, of course, the brother pulled the same, "No speak good English. You talk my brother. He speak good English." Eventually the government minion left to go harass some native born business owner.

Unlike the executive order granting amnesty to people who have moved to the United States in violation of immigration laws passed by Congress and signed by the President, Letters of Marque are authorized by the Constitution.
Besides, Letters of Marque are an instrument of foreign policy and I don't see how they would relate to reigning in a lawless President. In fact I am not sure how Letters of Marque would be useful against any governments except Liberia or Panama who seem to provide flags of convenience for pretty much all the cargo ships in the world.
Bills of Attainder, on the other hand, can condemn anybody to death or prison without trial if you can get a majority in both houses of Congress. After Lois Lerner is subpoenaed before Congress and pleads the 5th, Congress passes a Bill of Attainder condemning her to death. The Congressional police take her outside in handcuffs and stand her in front of a hastily built wall of sandbags and she is shot by firing squad. Congress then issues a subpoena to the head of the IRS IT department asking for Lois Lerner's emails.

Once Barack Obama declared that he is assuming dictatorial powers, he ceased to be president, in any meaningful sense of the word. He still wields power, of course; but he no longer is the freely elected chief executive of a republic.
We must acknowledge this fact in our speech:
* Barack Obama must no longer be addressed as "President Obama". Rather, as "Mr Obama", or "Dictator Obama", or the epithet of you choice.
* When addressing him, do not say "Mr President". Rather, "Mr Obama" or "Mr Dictator".
* At ceremonies, when he enters the room, do not rise. Rising is a courtesy to the holder of the office of the presidency; Mr Obama abandoned that office.
I'm sure my fellow 'rons and 'rettes can think of other way to acknowledge the new reality.
Granted, these are small things. But ceremonies and courtesies matter. Let us change ours to acknowledge the reality of the situation.
