I've been thinking, for a while now, that maybe the red state governors ought to hold a press conference jointly and announce that they will throw any feds ass in jail that follows any EO as they are not legal. If they are afraid to leave DC it's pretty hard to cause much trouble.

I'd like to see that too, but we all know we won't.

Congress is filled with a bunch of p*ssies, all of whom are terrified to take any stand that might cost them a vote. They're more afraid of losing a vote than they are of losing the country.

So they'll continue to sit by idly while Obama repeatedly shits all over the Constitution. Meanwhile, out here in flyover land, We The People are getting angrier and angrier.

76 50 The Lawrence O'Donnell link is interesting. It's okay for the president to just use any sort of discretion for not enforcing the law. That's what Ace missed in his post yesterday.
____________________________

O'Donnell is a blithering idiot, and a hypocrite.

If the president can ignore any law he chooses, and justify it by claiming he's just exercising his "prosecutorial discretion," then laws are utterly meaningless. There is no law unless Obama chooses to recognize it, and even then he can unilaterally re-write its terms if he so chooses.

And speaking of that, Obama's amnesty-by-EO plan doesn't just involve ignoring existing immigration laws. He's already doing that by refusing to deport 90% of illegal aliens in ICE custody. No, that's not enough for El Douche. He is also planning to issue tens of millions of work permits, residency permits, Social Security numbers, etc., to the illegal aliens. Where does he get the authority to do that? He pulls it out of his ass, that's where.

Even if one accepted Obama's ludicrous (and unprecedented) expansion of the concept of "prosecutorial discretion," there is no definition of it that includes those types of actions, which are clearly beyond any statutory or other power the president possesses.

If a Republican president was acting like this, or even suggesting that he could, O'Donnell would be having a stroke.

Here in NC, we have Crape/Crepe Myrtle trees everywhere. Been here seven
years, still don't know the correct spelling, though I suspect Crape.
Often the same nursery will use both terms in their ads, depending on
who wrote them. I gave up when I saw one marked a "Crate Myrtle".

It is "crepe," honey. Don't argue with me about this. Kind of like the African Hair Bradig (sic) sign of the Brooklyn death scene...yet the news people misspell it as "braiding." Potato/potatoe/tomato/tomatoe/ebola/heart attack

Barbara Boxer (California)
Patrick Leahy (Vermont)
Barbara Mikulski (Maryland)
Patty Murray (Washington)
Harry Reid (Nevada)
Brian Schatz (Hawaii)
Charles Schumer (New York)
Ron Wyden (Oregon)

Michael Bennet (Colorado) was the only one who voted YES
