This isn't something Ace should be saying out loud, unless he's trying to get the liberals at the Washington Post to piss themselves laughing.
First, this isn't the hill to fight for. There are many other things far more egregious than this.
Second, unless the right wing blogging community and our supporters in radio and FOX get together on a "JournoList" style backroom conversation forum and decide what is and isn't important, we've got no chance at any change.
Third, someone like Ace does have the power (or would influence be the better word) to help lead the blogging community and our media in focusing on one or two media figures who truly deserve to be ridiculed out of existence, but until it happens, we're just pissing in the wind.

This isn't something Ace should be saying out loud, unless he's trying to get the liberals at the Washington Post to piss themselves laughing.
First, this isn't the hill to fight for. There are many other things far more egregious than this.
Second, unless the right wing blogging community and our supporters in radio and FOX get together on a "JournoList" style backroom conversation forum and decide what is and isn't important, we've got no chance at any change.
Third, someone like Ace does have the power (or would influence be the better word) to help lead the blogging community and our media in focusing on one or two media figures who truly deserve to be ridiculed out of existence, but until it happens, we're just pissing in the wind.

That goes against the very nature of most Conservatives.
I think the reason we won this last election is because we didn't go national--I know there are people out there trying to minimize the win by saying it was about nothing--but the idea was to work around the national media.
That idea had been brewing with some campaign people for years--looks like they finally went with it.
Some people want to say the campaigns were not giving people something to vote for--well
sometimes in the face of huge government, ObamaCare and looming socialism--
being Anti-Government is way more than you think--and to belittle the voters by saying they didn't vote for anything--is aiding and abetting--Bigger Government.
The win was significant because it happened despite the Liberal media, and despite the extremely bad polling. Polling that all went to falsely bolstering Democrats--when it all leans one way--that isn't random.

The grizzled veterans cost too much. They keep a few around for "gravitas." And hire a bunch of idiots that are cheap. They used to keep the grizzled vets around as editors, those much vaunted layers of fact checkers. Until they cost too much. Now they are trying to out-source the news gathering and story production to India and any place else that works for less.
True fact, I checked into working as a news producer when I realized any idiot can do better than these clowns. My frat big brother was a news producer in a small market city in IA for 5 years. He made less than I did waiting tables part-time.

Back in the day these guys would be heavily babysat and edited to make sure their lack of wisdom and experience didn't lead them to write stupid crap. These days it seems like they run the place.

Money. The old grizzled veteran reporters were getting paid two to three times what a cub reporter would get paid, and because most papers have become cutnpaste operations, they don't need as many reporters anymore.
Plus, the newspapers don't want to go after the "powerful" (government) anymore, so they don't want the old guys that made their bones going after those in power.

Yeah, you're probably right RD. And the "journalism is higher calling" nonsense at J school plays right into that.
Plus what people said above: gotta hire get those whiteys out of there and have more minorities. It amazed me after 9/11 how many conspicuously Muslim bylines started showing up. Its like the NYT hiring Goebbels' staff to help them write stories about Germany.
