Random Saturday Morning Gripe
I hate it when people say "a scissor" as in "hand me a scissor". It's a pair of scissors, dammit.
UPDATE: Oh, this reminds me that I heard a curious expression last week: to raise sand, as in "When I heard what bad things the company was doing, I went to the shareholders' meeting and raised sand." Anybody else ever heard of this before?

You probably don't like it when people talk about how that's a "nice straight let pant". Pant? Seriously? They're pants.
With you the scissor thing though.

Only place I've heard "Raising Sand" is the title of the boring Robert Plant/Alison Krauss album.

Ditto on the scissors thing. And the pants thing. And the underwear thing.
I've heard of and used pound sand. Never heard of raising sand.

I've heard the expression "raise sand" before, but have no clue where. Urban dictionary defines it as "when a person has a hissy fit." Maybe Austrailian or something?

You musta didn't grow up in the South Mr. Robbo. We raise sand all the time. You know like when a dog is angry and kicking his back feet ready to get cha? Raise sand!
