The eldest Llama-ette is close to finishing Old Yeller, which she's reading for the first time. She hasn't the faintest idea what's in store. This could get ugly.

Ugh. What's next? Where the Red Fern Grows? (Though I'll take WTRFG over Old Yeller any day just from a story perspective.) Poor kid.

Ah, well, it's all part of growing up. In the long run, it's good for 'em. I remember a few books that made me cry when I was a kid, too, the top one being Sterling North's Rascal.

I once took at date to see "Old Yeller", having never seen it as a kid, and not knowing the ending.
