Sen. Harriet Hageman: With What Few Days We Have Left Being in Control of Congress, We Should Go Hog-Wild and Push the Republican Agenda to the Max

Well, sure, I'd like this.

She wants to use budget reconciliation to fund the priorities, like border security, that Democrats intend to defund.

But John Thune and his Confederacy of Cucks will not do that. It would upset their liberal sex-partners!

One of the few House Republicans to win a U.S. Senate seat in Tuesday's blue-wave election is urging her GOP colleagues to aggressively use the remaining days of the lame-duck Congress this year to pass multi-year budgets to protect agencies that Democrats want to defund and to codify President Donald Trump cuts to foreign aid that the left wants to restore.

Rep. Harriet Hageman, soon to be sworn in as Wyoming's next U.S. senator, told Just the News on Thursday night that she is urging fellow Republicans to replicate their last budget reconciliation law that funded Trump's Homeland Security agenda until the end of his presidency and codify other GOP priorities and foil Democrats' ambitions in the next Congress.

Such a move would require only 51 votes in the Senate, bypassing the blockade of a filibuster rule, then allow Trump to use his veto pen to thwart Democrat efforts in the next Congress to overturn his priorities, thus securing them through the 2028 election.

"I think we ought to do another reconciliation package and fund some of these programs and agencies that we know that the Democrats are going to target," Hageman said during a wide-ranging interview on the Just the News, No Noise television show.

And, just as importantly, she wants to defund by law the useless or anti-American bureaucrats and NGOs that the Democrats are determined to fund again.

Hageman suggested border and immigration budget items, the Justice Department and FBI priorities, and codifying the massive cuts to wasteful federal spending and the USAID foreign aid budget that Elon Musk's DOGE team implemented. Democrats have made clear they want to restore most of USAID's budget cuts.

"We need to make sure that the cutting of those programs stays permanent," she explained.

"Part of the reason we lost the majority is voters didn't think we worked that hard," [Congressman Randy Fine] also said. "They saw the Senate not even trying to pass the Save America Act, and they said, 'What's the point in having them?' Well, we've got two months left, and we should use every minute to the maximum advantage that we have."

Sounds good. Unfortunately, as Ron DeSantis points out, the current Cuck Class of Congress "men" have no desire to do anything that will make their liberal friends, wives, mistresses, and gay prostitutes angry at them.

...Well, here's the problem...If you're gonna do huge conservative things that are gonna reorient the country for a generation, fine.

BUT I SAW NO INDICATION THAT THE CURRENT GROUP OF REPUBLICAN SENATORS WERE INTERESTED IN DOING THAT TYPE OF BOLD, CONSERVATIVE CHANGE...

He also pointed out the necessary things Congress"men" should have done -- but refused to do.

Why haven't we done:

* immigration - shut off H1B visas
* codified Trump's immigration executive orders
* stripped immigration jurisdiction from the federal courts over deportation cases

Video at the link.

Boy I'm sure glad that John Thune respected the filibuster. Because Democrats are about to end it, just as they come into power.

That may not be true-- they might not do it now, because Trump still has a veto that can only be overcome with a two-thirds supermajority in both houses.

But they'll do it the moment they have Congress and the Presidency.

Boy oh boy, I sure wish we could have enacted our actual agenda when we had the Congress and the Presidency.

Thanks, Johnnyboy!

Then they went to their AI and tech labs, and gathered up their tribes, and planned to steal 2026. They did. Next stop is 2028.

47 Also looks like the administration is hoping to get $ for military operations via reconciliation (the only actual bill that gets passed now).

Trump got the BBB once, theoretically should be able to again. But ace as you point out, this is one of the last chances for the GOP Congress to undercut Trump and his agenda, so who knows.

And the bit about limiting jurisdiction in immigration cases is cute. Such statutory exclusions have long been in existence for certain elements of immigration, and as you know have been routinely violated - with impunity - in the last 2 years.

One more - gigantic - implication of the disastrous votes of Americans this week: a judiciary that clearly/correctly already had no concerns about being disciplined or punished in any way for its outrageous lawless behavior (from the FISA mega-scandal to usurping executive authority to laughing at statutory restrictions on jurisdiction in immigration) will now be even further unleashed.

I'd be surprised, over the next 2 years to NOT see courts outdoing themselves in lawless vandalism against executive authority, even more than they have to date.

So we also have that going for us.

@philipakennedy
20 years ago, after Republicans suffered a blowout in the 2006 midterms, Rush Limbaugh shared a perspective many of us are feeling today:
Rush: “I feel liberated, and I’m going to tell you as plainly as I can why. I no longer am going to have to carry the water for people who I don’t think deserve having their water carried…
Now I’m liberated from having to constantly come in here every day and try to buck up a bunch of people who don’t deserve it, to try to carry the water and make excuses for people who don’t deserve it.”

He's not wrong! These elections made everyone show their real cards, throw them all down on the table. Now we know where everyone stands. And we don't have to support pseudo compatriots who actually despise us.

If you never believe anything else I say... the DSA vs DNC thing is an op. The DSA is what the DNC has always wanted to be but never could.

They will try and maintain some rhetorical distance but expect a lot of "whoops the DSA got what they wanted again guess our hands are tied!" on shit that matters. Sort of a reverse failure theater. And there will be things that they can't give the DSA "yet" but they will magically enter the national conversation.

That article is interesting because I thought -- or at least was led to believe -- that Harmeet was doing good work making elections more secure. That's what it looked like, right?

Some of my optimism for the midterms was based on the idea that it would be harder for Dums to cheat. Not impossible, but harder.

But ... what if all that was bullshit? What if Harmeet really was just another grifting hack, like that article says?

I don't know the answer to that. But it does make me worry that nothing has changed in terms of election security.

This is a micro-ish version of the macro idea that once America falls, there is nowhere else to go. We're it.

At some point, you have to defend what's yours, vice leaving it to go somewhere else. Evil will follow you to literally the ends of the Earth. It must be confronted. Directly. Maybe even violently.

President Trump can nominate a SCOTUS justice, get them confirmed by the GOP Senate within the next 2 months, then swap them in for any retiring Justice over the next 2 years.

Bypasses the Democrat-controlled Senate.

Clubs where we affirm allegiance to vote the party line even if we have to hold our noses.

President where there was no incumbent president running, was won by the party that won the house the previous election.

2000 Bush won, gop won the house in 1998
2008 Obama, Dems won house 2006
2016 Trump, gop won house 2014
2024 Trump, gop won house in 2022

This does not bode well for 2028.

But do you have ANY idea how many parties the R's WOULDN'T get invited to were they to ACTUALLY do it?

So totally not worth it.......

Posted by: Duke Lowell at November 06, 2026 02:28 PM (2UnvF)

231 A $25 billion bond is only going to cover about 25000 homes at median rate thereabouts.
It will be gone in a couple months. And prices will GO UP since government is footing the bill.

California is just stupid.

234 In Michigan, the official stance amounts to that they are allowed to lie to us on the ballot of Proposal #2.

It says public utility companies are not allowed to lobby for legislation.

But the actual full proposition does a lot more to restrict opposition to government courses of action for everybody.

Utility companies that already benefit from the government is just the bait.

Thanks a lot. Turns out this may have been a blessing in disguise. The CT Senate has only 3 Republican seats out of 36 seats; the House has 35 Rs out of 151. If I won my election, I would get absolutely nothing done while in Hartford, making me a prime target in '28. This way, they can crash the state economy without me.

237 Prices won’t crash in Cali.

This is a version of college where the govt just subsidizes pricing. Prices will continue to increase the beneficiaries won’t be buyers of homes (students) it will be sellers of homes (colleges).

I saw a video by Dave Rubin talking about the vote in Texas. He showed that since 2002, there have been 2.9 million new voters added to the rolls and apparently they did not have to show any proof of citizenship.

He also showed that Abbott got slightly more votes than his last election, but the democrat jumped from 3.5 million to 5.2 million. So all the new votes went to the dem as Abbotts' numbers stayed essentially the same.

I'm smelling fraud.

The Assembly
@InTheAssembly
BREAKING: California voters just passed Prop 37. Buyers of newly built homes can now put down 3% instead of 20%.
How: the state lends you the other 17% as a second mortgage, funded by up to $25 billion in bonds.
On an $800,000 home that's $24,000 down instead of $160,000.

Wow. My parents were angels to put up with me and still love me. I was no angel, but not super bad as a teen.

I heard the smile in her voice yesterday as she was very happy to be home again after 3wks. I can't tell she's worse for it all mentally as she remains alert and was cracking jokes to me in rehab (glue repair of a fractured lumbar vertebra).

I told her we are going to have my brother help her with face time so she can see her crazy great-grands who love her a lot. One blessing I will never know as these kids are very young. I never met my great-grandparents.

She's wonderful, never complains, has deep faith in God and is carrying on with this change in her life. I saw labs of hers results are some of us would wish for. She's tough.

My prayer is that she passes to heaven in her own bedroom someday without pain, fear, or suffering. As my father did almost 20yrs ago.
