Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump vs. the BureaucracyTrump is the first president in living memory to actually cut the federal work force. Reagan tried. Reagan failed. Trump actually delivered. He also worked assiduously to make the President the boss of his underling bureaucrats, instead of the bureaucrats being the President's boss. What a concept. The boss sets policy and tells the subordinate paper-pushers what to do? That's a #ThreatToDemocracy. Ben Weingarten: Of course, the Democrats want to undo all this. They want to rehire all the unneeded clock-watching do-nothings and of course all the unqualified DEI make-work check-cashers and they want to pour American tax dollars into US AID and all the other corrupt communist NGOs. "We have a massive reconstruction task ahead of us," Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, has warned. "We will have to go department by department, subject by subject, and public purpose by public purpose to determine what we salvage and what we re-create." Although Democrats will control both chambers of Congress next year, the center of gravity of their resistance will likely continue to be in the courthouses where they have challenged the president's agenda, alleging unconstitutional overreach and procedural ham-handedness. Through hundreds of lawsuits, many still pending, they have opposed everything from firing employees and eliminating offices to withholding appropriated funds. Legal scholars say these battles over the scope and contours of presidential authority and the Constitution's separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches may have significant long-term ramifications. They also note that litigation moves slowly; many cases are not likely to be resolved until Trump leaves office. As a practical matter, often buoyed by a Supreme Court that has blocked lower court injunctions thwarting Trump's orders, the president has meaningfully reshaped the bureaucracy.... Shrinking the workforce From the start of his second term, President Trump vowed to "dramatically reduce the size of the Federal Government, while increasing its accountability to the American people." Through a series of executive orders, he froze federal hiring across most agencies, directed the Department of Government Efficiency to help cut the federal workforce through deferred resignation programs and reductions in force (RIFs), and required agencies to hire no more than one employee for every four departing employees. During its first year, the administration has shrunk the workforce by 220,000 to 250,000 workers -- a 10% decline. The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, a critic of the cuts, described them as "the largest one-year reduction in the federal workforce in over 75 years, dating back to the demobilization following World War II." The decline has not been evenly distributed. The Center's analysis indicates that Trump has targeted executive branch departments whose work he questions. These include the Department of Education (down 39%), the State Department and associated agencies (down 37%), and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (down 23%). His policies have also sparked mass exoduses from specific areas like the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division. Conservatives have long considered the division a bastion of progressive activism. Up to 80% of its staff reportedly left. The administration has replaced those 300 departing employees with 130 hires of its own. The workforce continued to decline modestly in 2026. In all, about one in five federal workers has left through resignation, retirement, or dismissal during Trump's second term -- though about half that number has been replaced. At roughly 2.7 million employees, the federal workforce has fallen to its lowest level since 1966.Read the whole thing. We're down, but we did a lot of damage. We have to pick ourselves up from the floor, knock the dust off our shoulders, and defend our achievements.

I'd love to know when the Right is going to stop trying to fight like it's still the 1950s.
The Left is a generation or two ahead of us in organizing. They have layers upon layers of organizing infrastructure, and they put it to amazing use. Cut off the taxpayer money? Whoosh! It flows through other channels. This is no longer a war of ideas, and idiotic mail in voting is here to stay, thanks to the GOPe Senate. So it's time to stop thinking inside the old box, and get these guys with big bucks to fund some real organizing infrastructure, and do our own ballot harvesting. And get boots on the ground for turning out our vote. The votes are there. I think the polls were right, but for the wrong reasons. The non response rate from Trump voters was the gauge of enthusiasm, which wasn't there on our side. Posted by: McLurkerson at November 06, 2026 05:46 PM (AZDyS) 13

--- Sen. Mike Lee answered that question today, on X. He said that, while he opposes the pro-forma sessions, he nevertheless gaveled in on November 2nd because "Trump never asked him not to". Treacherous snakes, the lot of 'em. Posted by: Kareem of Wheat at November 06, 2026 06:06 PM (vqA1l) 73

I bet Schumer thought the Jew-hate was just a show for the rubes. ------ In a correctly functioning society, Schumer would have been forced to resign in shame after the "grilling" fraud. Not because "Every man should know how to grill" (even though its true, they should). But because he DIDN'T CARE that he didn't know how to grill and those around him didn't either and they just all assumed "THOSE SCHMUCKS SEEING THIS AD WILL BE JUST FINE WITH IT." Posted by: Huck Follywood There had been a very heavily funded foreign demoralization campaign against Trump, and it has been incredibly effective. Weak, cucked GOPers didn't help (or, perhaps they did?). Hegseth is a target for many reasons. China wants a weak, ineffective US military....Hegseth interferes. Republicans especially, and normies mostly, like the military...to demoralize them and reduce their turnout, lie and say the military is weaker, Hegseth is incompetent and corrupt, we're losing the war with Iran (?!?!)...and if it's repeated enough without counter, enough morons will believe it. Plus, we kill Muslims, help Israel, and banned trannies from serving, so automatic super-Hitler to motivate the Dem base. Finally, MANY senior officers are Lefties. A lot of the same transnational groups funding the European riots are funding the leftist NGOs plotting their color revolution here. The election was just one step, they aren't done.
The good news is that they're spending their own money on it now. The bad news is that it's still happening. We got too happy about a bunch of smaller countries flipping after USAID, but they pulled in for Brazil and the US. Posted by: Ian S. at November 06, 2026 06:35 PM (jbPJz) 155
If you guys aren't shorting the markets you are making a mistake. Democrats taking over are a once in a decade earning opportunity. Unless civilization collapses, but then money won't matter.

If reddit hates Steven Miller I will certainly give him another look. Nobody can take the slings and arrows like PDT though. Just about everyone else has wussed out on him.

I didn't realize Miller was on the ballot! Governor Gavin Newsom @CAgovernor · 2h Donald Trump just promoted one of the most vile thugs to ever slither into the Oval Office. This is an insult to every American who voted for change on Tuesday. Stephen Miller cooked up the sadistic mass deportation regime that ripped apart families and trampled basic civil rights. Innocent people are dead because of him. Voters rejected his cruelty and extremism. This is sick. Posted by: beckster at November 06, 2026 06:39 PM (kX27y) 161
Looking forward to Stephen "Chainsaw" Miller taking this next step. It's funny that he was only the deputy chief of staff but he was constantly answering media questions.

Steven Miller is the absolute peak nazi of this admin and that's saying something. Watch the two videos from his highschool and college years. He has always been rotten to the core. An absolute evil cunt.
I saw The Steve Miller Band open for the Pat Travers Band at the Montreal Olympic Stadium in 1978. Boom boom, out go the lights! Posted by: Canadian Sex Pest at November 06, 2026 06:40 PM (Ssbab) 164

>>I can pretty much guarantee who will be leading the charge to get rid of Hegseth. It's going to be Elizabeth Warren. She's the one that initiated and supported the Trans class of the military...
It will be Mark Kelly, Slotkin and the rest of the Seditious 6 who went after Hegseth early on to try to take him down. Kelly is already out listing the articles of impeachment. Most of the charges will be for enforcing illegal orders. Veterans will pretend to be the most outraged because they represent the military. It's a farce but that's never stopped leftists. I'd argue they hated W more than Cheney, and they didn't really turn on HW until he was President.
------- I think they cut some slack for more obviously Uniparty politicians. Whoever and whenever the next Republican president is, the MSM will yammer nonstop about why he's so awful and ask why can't he be a Reasonable Republican like Trump was. Foul mouthed MN Dems:
St. Louis Park Mayor Nadia Mohamed celebrated the results of Tuesday’s election with a social media post on TikTok declaring that “America has spoken” and using the phrase “belt to ass.” “America has spoken! We want belt to ass!!! So start your engines!! #election,” Mohamed wrote in the caption of the video. The video shows Mohamed celebrating in front of the Minnesota State Capitol while text across the screen reads, “When a blue wave hits!” Mohamed was elected mayor in 2023 after previously serving on the St. Louis Park City Council. ------------- Congressman-elect Matt Little also used profane language while addressing supporters at the DFL election watch party in downtown St. Paul after winning Minnesota’s Second Congressional District. “I think it’s pretty clear America is sending a message,” Little said. “The first message they sent is that Pete Hegseth is a dipshit. The second message they sent is that JD Vance is a dipshit. The third and final message they sent is that Donald Trump is a dipshit.” Posted by: beckster at November 06, 2026 06:46 PM (kX27y) 174

At least Instapanzy allows some criticism. This place is a morgue. Which is good since the faster boomercons (of which I was) the sooner they die off the faster thier political power is gone and my sons and daughter can get on with rebuilding America.

@174 Mike Hammer
The only one I know of was of my high school teachers in the 80s. He was peacocking how smart he was to avoid the draft and get some college in during one of my HS classes in 1985. He didn't realize that several students, including me, had fathers that did not tuck tail and hide. Dad passed 10 years ago and that worthless fuck is still alive and collected more public pension checks than pay checks. Posted by: That Guy at November 06, 2026 06:56 PM (tUW+E) 179
