The Morning Report — 11/5 /26

USASHREDS.jpg

Good morning kids. As you can see and you could have guessed the overwhelming majority of the links this morning are analyses and opinions about the absolute disaster that was the midterm elections. For those of us old enough to remember them, past elections came and went and win lose or draw, we mostly shrugged our shoulders especially if our side/candidates did not emerge victorious and thought that life goes on, America was and always will be America and nothing much really will change.

This was more or less the tone of the latest podcast linked here as well as in the sidebar and available on the most popular platforms listed at the bottom of this post

That said, given the nature of who and what comprises the Democrat Party and especially a large percentage of the candidates that won both House and Senate seats on Tuesday, I truly do not share the optimism about the future of my Cohost CBD. Even still, as I have noted in the past, if my dear mother of blessed memory and her family miraculously could survive death camps, the labor brigades and death marches at the hands of the Nazis and still wind up living relatively long, blessed, fulfilled and happy lives, then is all really lost?

Well, I too am desperate to be as optimistic as I can, but in answer to that question we sure as hell are going to find out. And it ain't gonna be pretty.

In a resurfaced clip shared on social media this week, Cliff Connolly, a member of the steering committee of the far-left Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), emphasized the DSA’s “hatred” of the Constitution. The DSA may quadruple its presence in the House of Representatives and potentially force concessions from Hakeem Jeffries in any bid for Speaker following the midterms. . . Replacing the Constitution and the Presidency, Abolishing the Senate and Expanding the House, Ranked-Choice Voting and Multiparty Politics, Voting Rights for Noncitizens, Ending the Electoral College, Subordinating the Judiciary. (Meh they already control it- jjs), D.C. Statehood, Publicly-Financed Elections.

I can hear some of you groaning that it's all just blather and that there's no way in hell they can achieve any of that. Well if you don't think they're not going to go for it, now that they control both chambers, quite a few statehouses, including places like TEXAS that was supposed to be a bastion of Americanism, as well as the bulk of the bureaucracy and much of the Judiciary they're looking at green lights and no speed limits. And what of police forces and even the US Military?! plus the Antifa and BLM goon squads? I mean, for fuck's sake people we now have an actual U.S. Senator who is supported by and likely an actual member of the Muslim Brotherhood!

As friend and friend of the blog the erudite and estimable historian Robert Spencer postulates:

Many have observed that this election was a choice between continuing as a free republic or becoming a totalitarian socialist state and/or an Islamic republic. Many others, of course, dismissed such talk as campaign hyperbole, and it won’t happen all at once, but anyone who fails to recognize the hostility of the “progressives” to dissent and their determination to transform the nation into a one-party state are simply naïve or tragically uninformed. . . the MAGA movement is now dead. Those who hate America and everything it has been are firmly in power in Congress, and in two years will capture the presidency as well. The consequences of all this will be far-reaching, even to the point of making the free, open, and peaceful society in which we once lived a dim memory. All citizens of the United States should have taken it as a warning when one half of the body politic declared that restoring the nation’s greatness was a noxious and execrable idea. Or perhaps by the time that group constituted half of the electorate, it was already too late.

In any case, the twilight of what remains of that greatness is now upon us.

And from the Central Committee and Politburo conference table, I have this item from WInnie the Pooh's pu-pu platter:

China’s state-run Global Times wrote in the wake of the U.S. midterms that “the ‘myth’ of Western-style democracy is losing its appeal, even in the West.” The Chinese Communist paper did not explain why it decided to put its own cheap shot of “myth” in scare quotes, as the word was not quoted from any other source, and the point of the editorial was that democracy is mythical because the citizens of the U.S. and other Western nations do not actually believe their votes bring them better government.

Dumb statement in that Xi should've congratulated the forces of freedom and democracy such as we have here in the PRC! That last line is actually kind of humorous in that it's unintentionally truthful. We, that is our fellow citizens in name only just recreated , no not '68, but 1933 Germany right here at home!

Well as the late great Andrew Breitbart so brilliantly observed, politics is directly downstream from culture.

How Hollywood Helped Fuel Tuesday’s Blue Tsunami: Call it a collective approach, one that aligned key cultural forces together with one goal above all else. Progressive power.

Beyond that, this utter hideousness is also what it begets...

A special education teacher at a Montgomery County, Maryland, elementary school urged women to "stop giving birth" to boys because America's "patriarchal hell" means they're all "menace[s] to society," a Washington Free Beacon review found. The teacher, Dana Zentgraf, also called to overthrow the U.S. government. "It's your son too. It's all of them," Zentgraf wrote in a Facebook post under her online name, "Da Graf." "They are all menace[s] to society and we need to stop giving birth to them."

Well if politics is downstream from culture then what is being taught to our children from Pre-K through Post-Grad is upstream from all of it.

Unless and until we wrest total control of education, all is well and truly lost, perhaps forever. And considering the results of last Tuesday, the advances made by parents and others in breaking up or starting to break up the Indoctrinaton Mill that American academia has been for nearly 60 years will vanish.

On all this I nevertheless wish you all to keep the faith and have a good day, and pray for guidance and for the America we yearn for to somehow reemerge from the wreckage of Tuesday and what it will beget, and to endure.

My friends come over for 'Christmas in November' The kids like to decorate the tree and it's become a 5 year tradition I'm carrying on without Mom.

Gifts for the kids. Their Mom said Advent Calendars are still a thing. And since I'm buying Christmas gifts for kids to open in November, DAMN I'm their target market

Still, may have beers today.
Back to Convict Conditioning soon.

It's fine. The guy is right. In a sense. But also totally wrong in another.

Because there is a 0% chance of the GOP taking any of that advice.

The advice he is giving has been the correct advice for more than a decade. They haven't taken it in the past, because they are completely concerned with *preventing* any of that from happening.

And they do not want to win in '28. They want to go back to the minority and stay there. With Trump out of the picture, they can put right the natural order he disrupted so badly.

So, yes, in a completely different political reality, that guy is totally spot on.

But in this reality, the GOP wanted this outcome, and they got it, and they aren't going to change in the next 2 years - or ever.

Seeking a political solution from the Republican Party is a delusional waste of time and effort at a time when little of either can be spared.

36 Regarding Vance's statement laying out the losses to the "war" in Iran.

War? What war?

What we are doing in Iran is barely a war, more like an embargo. Almost everything that has been done has been economic actions and targeted elimination of the current leadership. Relatively little blood has been lost on either side.

Any real war going on is a propoganeda battle that we are apparantly loosing due to TDS and DC selling out to people who hate the US aned Israel.

Vance needs to be called out on the carpet. He has become full of himself and seems to have lost thye idea of being a tem member. I am deeply disappointed in him.

After careful consideration, I have revised my estimates of the next proposed Congressional budget: $7 Trillion-ish

Since Trump will receive all of the blame for double digit inflation, and the Communists have had a drought of slush-fund cash for a year or two, the budgets will be epic.

The only thing that's going to get done is lots of spending for the next two years and if the donks win in 28, well, then it's all over except the fighting as they will be in the catbird seat to replace 3 SCOTUS justices, creating a 6-3 leftist lunatic court.

And then the real fun will begin as those cretins dismantle the Republic.

It would be one thing if the state was badly run or if some scandal had blown open, but neither took place. Paxton, Abbott, Patrick, Middleton and French all lost by similar margins. Hey! That's my line!

I am immensely grateful to the Almighty for being born and raised in the former US. For several days I have been reflecting on over the thousands of years of human history, and anywhere on this planet to be born, it was in the only experiment where Protestant Christians could carve out a high-trust, profoundly productive and human flourishing expanding society.

As a sojourner in this world, I have had 29 years of that included Vietnam War, Watergate, fuel embargos, the Weather underground, the gutting of industrial America but also saw expansion of the Gospel, incredible prosperity and Morning in America.

Here we are at civilizational sunset, like those of the Exodus from Egypt, all they want to do is return to slavery and worship demons.

How this is different now is that there are at least three generations of people who don't know how to work, think, worship or grow. They don't care about my world. They are hungry and cold and will burn down the beautiful ornately carved oak door to be warm.

That is what is different.

63 Sorry I’m not buying that the Iran “war” led to the midterm results. I put the word war in quotes because as someone upthread said quite accurately: it’s not a war… no casualties to speak of on our side (yes… tragically there have been deaths, but big picture the number is no more than what would occur during normal peacetime training)… we have no boots on the ground. Your average voter couldn’t find the Strait of Hormuz on a map. This was the typical “party of president loses midterms” but on steroids due to TDS and the usual media bias also on steroids due to TDS

Thought experiment: Even without Iran “war” diesel prices still quite high due to Ukraine… midwestern farmers still ticked off

64 It is more than a little fishy that in Texas, the democrat vote numbers are higher than a presidential election year in all statewide races, and even a few local races. In Texas house district 93, the democrat was found to be a felon and therefore not eligible to serve, and suspended her campaign months ago. But she won Tuesday.

66 The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) was founded by progressive leader Michael Harrington in 1982.

He thought our two-party system was so embedded that it wouldn't change. So his plan was to take over the D party from within. It's working.

Bernie called himself an Independent but he's always been DSA.

AOC won a DSA beauty pageant and with their backing unseated Menshevik Crowley, a crony of Nancy P.

The results make it clear Cornyn would’ve been blown out as well. I was born in TX and have lived here my entire life (save for when dad got transferred to Denver for a few years with his oil company in the late 50s when CO was red) and I’m having a hard time believing that literally all 254 counties went left. I haven’t started deep diving yet, but something seems off. And Talafreako got more votes than Harris or Biden’s 11 million extra votes?? A conservative Filipino friend texted me yesterday with “who the eff is Hinajosa”.

It would be one thing if the state was badly run or if some scandal had blown open, but neither took place. Paxton, Abbott, Patrick, Middleton and French all lost by similar margins. Even in my deep red (in 2024) county, Talarico won by 7 and Republicans for local offices are ahead by only the tinest margins. Is a puzzlement.

76 Election post mortem in Texas: I’ve been looking at how populations voted, and one factor jumps out of the Texas numbers.
During this cycle, I scoffed at the idea that a Mexican lawyer from the Rio Grande valley could overthrow Abbot’s long tenure - but she did, massively. How?
Hispanic/Latino voters now make up 32% of the Texas voters pool. In 2024, turnout for this group was moderate and voted roughly 50/50 for Trump and the rest of the Republicans. This year, Hispanic turnout was the heaviest ever and broke at least 75/25 for Ginojoza and her political allies, like Talerico. Combined with lesser shifts in other portions of the demographics, this was enough of a move to wipe out Republican candidates across the board. Other factors may have been in play elsewhere, but in Texas it looks like heavy immigration enforcement is what has handed the state to the left. A bitter pill to swallow, but undeniable.

We were all focused on the Talerico/Paxton race as being the most significant. But it’s looking like Ginojoza’s stealth anti-ICE campaign is what actually swung the numbers, carrying all her allies along in her coattails.

81 Assume it's all cheating. Then what? Who will "go after" that cheating? Who is the faction that will do anything about it? The GOP, as an institution, has had over a decade now to "go after" open, provable voter fraud. They had the majority and still couldn't pass a bill whose stated purpose was to "go after" it.

And if the cheating is not significant, and this shellacking was truly organic, the same basic problem still stands... who do we have that will do anything about it?

The problem is the reformation of the party that claims to represent us, but whenever it is time to do so, it doesn't and acts like it's our fault.

I don't have solutions, here, but I do know that "cheating" is not the core problem to be dealt with. Fix that, and you just get a healthy happy Uniparty again.

Every problem seems to boil down to lack of representation.

Posted by: Thomas Bender at November 05, 2026 07:43 AM (XV/Pl)

I didn't foresee the extent of the blowout, but I have been saying over and over that MAGA is winding down, the GOP will turn the clock back to the bad old days of our political dynamic, and at a moment when the pure, undeniable force of human mortality will put the government under control of the millennial monster babies.

So, yeah. The timetable moved up. But none of what's coming is a surprise to me. We're in the endgame. Really, the end of the endgame, which started in 2015. An adjustment to the Gantt chart, that's all, and not even a significant one, given that Trump shoved it all back unexpectedly a couple years ago.

Out of all the figures I saw pouring in yesterday, TX is the one that was glowing brightly that something doesn't seem right. These figures are not right. It doesn't make sense. Factoring in the Democommunist's wet dream of turning TX blue so that they'll have full capture of the presidency through electoral votes makes these numbers extremely suspect. But again, we can say that till we're blue in the face. If the results are hinky, nobody will do anything about it.

I don't know what TX legislature is now after the brutal beating, but if it also turned Democommunist, here comes the "no voter ID" and "mail-in ballots" to ensure they'll win every presidential election from here on out. The brass ring is right there for them and you can be sure they're going to take it.

Meanwhile, the John Thune party of do-nothing traitors won't lose any sleep.

89 I see things a little differently. Other than what has already been said (do nothing geriatric Rs in Congress, economic burden that has become crushing - I get it ,Biden contributed , but people don't have time to do the math.. gas, insurance costs, etc.) People realized that neither Kramala nor Newsom will top any Republican in 2028. They got worried that this type of thing will continue and they will never get a job, or go broke and no one is listening to them and will continue not listening. And that is what we saw. Ds did not run on em-peach, they did not run on personality at all, they ran as "we hear you !" Let's talk Talarico. He ran on "I am a uniter , not a divider, I feel your pain, I will work with whoever to help you." He was the best performer out of all - biggest margin. The worst ? Durka Durka Jihad. Whatever shit he ran on , barely got him over the line. Something to think about, what the American People expect come January 2027.
