Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | JD Vance: Let's Face It, the Real Takeaway From the Election Is That Trump Is a Warmonger and We Have to Embrace the Anti-Israel Policies of My Good Friend Tucker CarlsonJD Vance has repudiated Trump's prosecution of the war with Iran. We should be being nice to 9th century savages who are building nuclear weapons. Look at Europe -- just being nice to them works every time!Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday called for a major pivot in the Trump administration's priorities after the Republicans lost control of the House and Senate in the Tuesday evening midterm contests. Democrats took Senate seats not just in battleground states, but in typically Republican bastions like Texas, Kansas, and South Carolina. Vance, for his part, acknowledged that the administration had lost large portions of reliable voters. "The reason we lost is the war," he posted on X. "The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest," Vance went on. "But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there."There's no doubt the Iran War was a major issue: Byron YorkBut "get out of Iran, leave those poor savages alone" is a big position on the left, and among the Ron Paul/Nick Fuentes Complete Isolation and Appeasement pseudoright -- who tend to vote for Democrats to show us all how much they hate us (and Israel). Turning Israel into an enemy will make the Muslims like us. Trust them! JD VanceJD Vance pointedly refused to endorse Beyamin Netanyahu, too. That's his choice, of course, but let's drop the pretense that he isn't just aping the politics of his close friend Tucker Carlson. Vance has a lot of reason to want these to be the causes. If the future of the GOP isn't through Michigan and the white working class but instead trying to win over Hispanics, there's no reason to run him. Posted by: Red Turban SomeguyBy the way, does JD Vance's Stronk America First Agenda include reducing the huge flow of Indians into this country to take American jobs and crash 18-wheelers into American citizens, or nah? Nah, right? I bet it's very important we retain a friendly relationship with India, right? And continue allowing huge transfers of population from India to the US? Hey buddy, if you want to play this kind of politics, I'm game. Deal me in. If you believe that Trump's divisiveness was a contributing factor to our loss (and our loss in 2022, and our "loss" in 2020), then you probably will have reservations about JD Vance's Big Smart Harvard-Educated Plan to replace Trump's divisiveness with the much more divisive divisiveness of Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes. That's gonna be a no from me, dog. Hard pass. Yup, it's just going to take declaring Israel an enemy.

Yeah, it would be foolish to just chalk this up to the usual midterm hilarity. Ron DeSantis delivered a pretty spot-on assessment focusing on Texas. The 2028 POTUS election will be very difficult without Texas in our corner, much less retaking the Senate. His only sign of hope tracks with mine in that this was more of an anti-Trump swing than a pro-Dem/Socialist/Islam one. In two years, crime and an inevitable stall in the economy (God forbid a Biden-level recession) might bring voters back to the GOP fold. Maybe..

They're putting on a show, and trying to cover whatever angles the plot may take. Cabinet members probably had to draw straws for which one took this angle. Others will cover the alternatives. It's like watching Fox commentators and thinking they're reading out their own thoughts. It's all ghostwritten, and on the prompter.

Get ready for a lot of this. Not just about Iran. Everything. And not just from Vance. Everyone. As anyone who reads my comments knows, I've said that everyone in the GOP is just waiting out Trump. That between '26 and '28 it would be a race to see which of them can jockey themselves into a position to cannibalize MAGA, and then repudiate everything about it, and go back to Uniparty business as usual. Well, that race just became an all out sprint. So, get behind your GOP guy. Vance, Rubio, DeSantis, whomever. It's all the same. Their masks will be ripped off soon. We all hate the GOPe Senate and John Thune particularly. After yesterday the idiot posted a self-aggrandizing claim he did a good job as caucus leader, and the excellent Cleta Mitchell let him have it, as he deserved:
No. You didn’t. You are absolutely 100% wrong. You did nothing of the sort. @NRSC Senate Republicans under YOUR “leadership” did nothing. Nothing. You had the chance to begin the process of saving our election system from the radical left. By passing the SAVE America Act. But K Street either didn’t care or opposed it. So why bother, right? Because the GOP Senate only does what can be monetized via those endless lobbyist dinners / fundraisers. If it can’t raise you money? Probably not worth doing. And you BERATED @BasedMikeLee for trying to get you to work full weeks, to try to pass the SAVE America Act. Or to work a weekend sometime. Or not to recess for weeks in March and then again recess for a month in August. You and your fellow GOP Senators told him that nobody cared about the SAVE America Act. That he needed to sit down and shut up. And the American people watched you. Posted by: Huck Follywood at November 04, 2026 05:38 PM (Lhncr) 25

It will be very interesting to see what the GOP becomes post-MAGA
------- ???? No it won't. Nothing could be any less interesting than that. The GOP hasn't changed one iota since 2015 - and 2015 is exactly what the post-MAGA GOP will look like. They can *finally* quit forcing MAGA platitudes through clenched teeth, and go back to normal. (D)racula has his (R)enfield back where he belongs. Trump probably had his reasons to hit Iran but hard as we hit, we didn't do enough to resolve the situation and win. I suspect Trump was willing to pay the political cost and now...we are. After warning us, repeatedly, that Trump, being a true threat to Democracy, wouldn't allow this election to happen, or would repudiate the results via the military, the Democrats now will vote to cancel the Electoral College, pack the SCOTUS, pass nationwide mail-in voting and try to make PR & DC states to pack the Senate.
In other words, they are gonna facilitate an end to our Democracy. Ironic, eh? Posted by: proudvastrightwingguy at November 04, 2026 05:48 PM (MNCvZ) 91
Trump fell into one of the classic blunders and it bit us in the a**
couple that with a feckless, dog shit GOP and an energized, bloodlust filled, marxist, ascendent democrat party, and you're looking at a total repudiation and shellacking that will take a decade at a minimum to unwind, if at all. There were a lot of "people" that really jumped on the Israel hate, and used the Iran war to "prove" Trump was Netanyahu's puppet. Some of them recognize a "small problem" with Islamic expansionism, but Israel is their devil, even though Israel (imo) is on the front line against Islam.
Still hard to say if it is the globalists pushing these color revolutions, that are now pushed inside USA, as well as Europe. They Islamists and China both seem ready to destroy the West, and that makes the globalists happy. Too bad the commie march through our institutions is still ongoing, though perhaps it is the "globalists" that are in charge now (with their own brand of communism). There has always been a tension between two of Trump's promises:
No more forever wars, especially in the Middle East. Iran must not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. That last promise was never going to be solved by asking them nicely. Unless Trump wanted to kick the can down the road like all past presidents have done, force was going to have to be applied to Iran. Although I am usually happy to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, he didn't sell this war very well. And the constant announcements that a deal was in place when there was no such deal that Iran was interested in honoring didn't help. It would have been much easier if Trump had the Senate on his side and could have just pounded the shit out of Iran until they sued for peace. Certainly they, as our military ally in the middle-east, were important especially during the operations. But to think the only reason we went to war with Israel is because Bibi wanted Trump to do it, is ludicrous. The Iranians have been chanting "Death To The Great and Little Satan" for fifty years. But I guess the Great Satan only fights when the Little Satan tells him to? Some people have this pie-in-the-sky notion that if the U.S. abandons 'Israel as an ally that magically the Muslims will likes us again and the world will be at peace? That's not how Islam works. Islam will never be at true peace until they've conquered the world and there is no more and the Dar al-Harb is gone, ruled forever by the Dar al-Islam. The radicals in Iran were building nukes, those nukes were not just a threat to Israel, as this war has shown the Iranians will shoot a missile at any country within in range. I think we all know. Subsidize demand. Its all they know how to do. Posted by: Harun at November 04, 2026 05:53 PM Subsidizing demand always increases "all in" costs. The Left has worked hard to subsidize college education and health care - resulting in the cost for those items increasing MUCH faster than the rate of inflation. It's an angry Muslim male and an AWFL schoolteacher who's trying to accommodate him because she feels sorry for Muslim kids who aren't allowed to pet puppies. Posted by: Blonde Morticia at November 04, 2026 06:04 PM We had two Jehovah's Witnesses in my class and I always felt sorry for them when they'd leave school early and miss the Valentine's Day party and they didn't even get any punch and cookies. That was overly general. There some Christian demographics that are not on that bus. The dead or quiet demographic is probably 2/3 the planet. Why thinking that way makes me anti semitic, IDK. The democrats found another wedge and they’re going to hammer it home.

1. Vance was not going rogue when he posted that. I think it was cleared by Trump. Trump announced election day morning we were cancelling all direct aid to Israel, which is the change in relationship that Vance mentioned.
2. No one in the Trump administration will be able to escape the ick factor. Enough voters are sick of Trump that Vance's candidacy is already doomed. He's young and can come back in 32 if we lose 28, which history says we probably will. 3. Kelly Ayotte or Kim Reynolds will be perfect VP picks. Inoffensive Karens to swing a few points in women voters. 4. Sarah Huckabee Sanders carries Trump baggage and ran an ad denigrating young white males as losers in the mom's basement. Net drag on the ticket. Posted by: Ted Torgerson at November 04, 2026 06:10 PM (wGerL) 223

Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia ****** Yes, indeed, I could. I have never made any excuse for loving Rubio as I voted for him as many times as I could in FL. And he knew it. I did, once, a long time ago and in confusion, vote for Romney and semi-defended him here. Briefly. Til I met him at an airport where he came up to me, alone, as my dude was getting pastries and coffee. For someone who supposedly was loyal to his wife, he came over to me at a very busy airport to ask if we were boarding yet. It was obvious unless you were blind that we were not. Moments later I introduced The Penguin to my dude. Note: it was super early and I didn't even look that good, but the mascara is present unless the house is on fire. Same scam the New Deal and Great Society ran: promise a limited fix that solves the problem and ends. The Neocon crowd runs the identical play with war—sell the next “limited” intervention as the smart, temporary necessity, then deliver open-ended commitments, a permanent military-industrial state, and forever wars with no exit. Mostly, what I'd like to know, since the war did cause prices to spike long enough for it to become a problem in people's minds regardless of what gas prices look like now, is was the attack on Iran due to credible info that Iran had a bomb(s) now or would have it in just a couple of weeks, and planned to use it in Israel or the US ASAP? or Was this a want because it would be good for the future and not a must do now dealio? Cuz if the attack on Iran was a "nice to do dealio", which I agree with, then waiting a year or less/more would've made no difference at all. And we wouldn't have this Cluster Fuck. Even if we win back everything in 2028 (unlikely) the Democrats have the power and the time to do generational damage to the US. I was laughing so hard one weekend,as a French anthropologist studying "WaPo in the Mist" regarding Gosnell I was laughing so loudly my husband yelled across the house, asking wth I was doing. Posted by: NCKate at November 04, 2026 06:10 PM I have NEVER seen a MSM story about Iran's launch capabilities. They have launched at least 22 satellites using sophisticated 2-stage rockets. They have now developed a 3-stage rocket, and both of the lower stages have advanced to using solid propellant. They probably cannot hit NYC or DC yet with an ICBM, but they will have that capability very soon. I have plotted the great circle route from NW Iran to the east coast of the U.S. Apogee is just south of Iceland. Missiles located in Greenland would be optimally positioned to intercept an ICBM at that apogee location. That "idiot" Trump is smarter than every Democrat I know, when it comes to protecting U.S. citizens from harm. I'll be honest, it's a bit hard to hold these two things simultaneously for me:
- We have to support Israel and Jews in general - Jews vote overwhelmingly for Democrats and in some cases (Michigan) literally for an insane Jew-hating half-pint Jihadist. It's a bit like giving the local homeless guy five bucks for him to get a meal but he spends it on booze then shits on your porch for your generosity. First of all, being less WASP is how you get a low trust society guaranteed. With the tribal warfare, and with the infrastructure all going to shit while the fraud and corruption skyrocket, more than Israel is getting cut out. IMEC 2.0 better be in full swing or the nation of Israel is toast, just because the US is quickly leaving the stage as a global hegemony. The Uke war is an op designed to keep us bogged down such that any efforts to move on Iran would be easily hampered. It worked. The two wars are related.
Trump’s power move would have been to bail on Ukraine and move towards Russia. Israel would have to fight a trench war against Iran until things improved here, if ever. Anyways, Hellebuyck has made New Jersey into contenders. Posted by: Accomack at November 04, 2026 06:32 PM (FqNtp) 313

Taking out Iran's nuclear capabilities was always the right decision and it was executed with ruthless professionalism.
The problems that came next are because Trump is a better builder than general. A general, it seems, who prefers to surround himself in the floral scent of wanting to be known as the consummate peace deal guy instead of prosecuting the resulting conflict with ruthless professionalism. Then he made everything worse with the repeated on again off again half baked potential peace agreements with interspersed bombing campaigns that accomplished nothing but that piss off the electorate which repudiated him on Tuesday. If there ever was a well thought out military campaign after blowing up the nuclear sites I'm at a loss to know what it is. Same can be said for a plan to deal with the political and economic ramifications. Trump comes with great talents and equally great blind spots, blind spots which led directly to the catastrophe that happened on Tuesday. And now we have JD Vance prancing around positioning himself as the next big deal guy. That's a vulture at work. The next few years are going to be tough. 2028 is shaping up to be a watershed year. And for the record, I supported and still support us dealing with Iran. My guess is that we had legit intel that they were days/weeks away from a working nuclear device and we had to move. Fine.
I will quibble with how it was never really explained and we didn't prosecute the war aggressively enough, in my opinion. Also, it was always going to have political consequences and to suggest otherwise is dumb as fuck. Your mileage may vary on if you think the consequences were worth it. I think the jury is out but we'll learn more as time goes on. I also support Israel and think Islam is a fucking cancer, but am of the opinion that I'm allowed to talk about foreign policy with respect to Israel without it sounding like someone gagging on a cock without being called a Nazi. I have vacillated on Vance, I both love the Image of his history, A po boy started to make his name as a Marine, first Marine in the executive in history, and being a Marine myself, I don't know if I ever mentioned, I also didn't trust him for shit. He was a soft dick with a soft dick MOS, and he said "Thankfully" when talking about never facing combat while not in theater. I Had a soft Dick MOS, with a FUCK load more training than transcriber, and I BEGGED to face a conflict theater deployment, not because I wanted to kill anyone, but because I was a Marine, I wanted to know if I could do my job as I'm supposed to. As I have said to my wife and family, "If I had gone to war, I would have put up with my bullshit" (It's actually complicated, not the way lefties say.) ALSO, I Supported Iraq2, because we had already dominated the land of Afghanistan, intimidated Pakistan to offering a whole lot more assistance than they wanted to, so that we could use Iraq and Afghanistan as a pathway to Iran. That is the ONLY thing I agree with John McCain at the time. JD is now voicing Posted by: wickedpinto at November 04, 2026 07:46 PM (vSedm) 338
The EXACT OPPOSITE of what I feel as a Marine, and it reminds me that he was just a soft dick with an soft dick MOS that had a lot of promotions because REAL Marines took on the hard jobs, and didn't THANK themselves for avoiding the call of conflict, rather than beg an opportunity to be the point of the sword, even if it costs you everything.
I STILL like him, but not as any sort of political leader. Fuck, 6 years ago he hated trump, then he changed his mind. That's not a Marines mindset, that's a vulture capitalists. Posted by: wickedpinto at November 04, 2026 07:48 PM (vSedm) 339
