Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant, a Moron behind enemy lines at November 02, 2026 *** G & R, I must be stuck there too, despite getting about the usual amount of sleep on Sat. night. I was sitting dozing over my book at 8:15 last night; went to bed at 8:45. Woke up at 3:15, so no extra zzz's. I don't recall having this kind of of problem last year, when I'd been retired since April. Well, it just means I can go work out a little earlier today. 72 F., humidity and wind are both up, but conditions are pretty good. BTW, if Binance is the cause of the loss of $3 billion by clients, they are insolvent. There is no amount of money that will cover the losses. Not understanding crypto, and I think the thefts can be "rolled back", but after paying for forensics and damages, Binance cant possibly survive.

G'morning, all!
Maryland Governor Wes Moore, after suggested to be a contender for the Democratic nomination for President in 2028 has a long and ongoing issue with his claimed receiving of a Bronze Star during his military service. This VERY long and detailed article out of Maryland lays out the steps, efforts, lies and high level Administration pressures to get the award issued retroactively in order that his military record would match his previously made claims. It's a long one, but I suggest that it is worth the read. Let's see what 3rd party sites I have blocked (set to "Untrusted" in NoScript) when I have AoSHQ loaded.
mgid.com - This one must be particularly bad. I blocked it specifically in NoScript, uBlock Origin is trying to stop me from going there, and if I push through both of those, the site fails to resolve on my DNS/firewall machine because I have it in a block-list there that re-routes attempts to resolve mgid.com to 127.0.0.1. This is pretty much my "proportional" response when a site really offends me. "Kill it with fire, then nuke it till it glows in the dark." powerad.ai - AI agent for WhatsApp (blocked both in NoScript by me, and uBlock Origin automatically.) tpdads.com - Apparently whatever was there went out of business and the domain is up for sale. I'd specifically blocked it in NoScript a while back though. And of course I have doubleclick.net and google-analytics.com blocked, because of course I do. Those are givens. Another little bit of political trivia...
Our little church in our little town of Summerville SC is a Polling Place for elections. Yesterday during announcements, our Pastor mentioned that the parking lot may be crowded on Tuesday during voting hours. At seems that instead of our standard 5 voting machines, we are receiving 10 voting machines for tomorrow's election. Now mind you, we have already had historic levels of early voting leading up to tomorrow, which would seem to indicate that they expect a rather high total voter turnout for this election.
