The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly heading to Australia to take a starring role on one of the country’s most popular television shows.
Meghan, 45, is expected to spend weeks in Melbourne next year after reportedly signing on to host the next season of Junior MasterChef Australia. Meghan made a surprise guest appearance on MasterChef Australia earlier this year. The children’s version is understood to be returning six years after it last aired, with Meghan slated to appear alongside MasterChef Australia judge Poh Ling Yeow. A source close to the production said the duchess would play a key hosting role on the series, which is expected to film in Melbourne over several weeks in early to mid-2027, according to news.com.au. It is thought that Prince Harry Markle and the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, could join her during the production, although no firm plans have been confirmed. Had to carry a pelican once, weighed about ten pounds. I was jogging on the beach, looked out over the water at a pelican, trying to take off and crashing. It had dived on a bluefish lure and was hooked. I spoke to the old fisherman and he wanted to cut the line. I said no, he'll get tangled and die. So I went out about 200' following the line with really no plan. When I got close, he was snapping at me. I distracted him with my right hand in front of his face and came up from under the water with my left clamping his bill together. Threw my arm around him and swam/walked to shore hoping someone had some pliers to cut the barb off. Pelican had been hooked through his throat.
The guy fishing next to him had a shiny pair of beautiful sidecutters, I snipped off the barb, big lure fell out. i carried pelican back to the water's edge and he flew off like nothing had happened. This was on Hatteras Island. Posted by: My Pelican Story at October 26, 2026 07:35 PM (EdP2u) 56

Bigger SAM's could knock them down, but a SAM capable of knocking one down would probably cost much more than the modern V1. Send a whole flock of them against an Iranian target. I'm kicking myself, should have remembered this. Because of the properties of CO2 molecules, which makes up the vast majority of what little atmosphere is there, there are two distinct speeds of sound roughly on Mars. Higher frequencies travel a bit faster than lower frequencies, about 10 m/s difference, with the line being at 240 Hz. So, you get sound dispersion. And sound attenuation is much greater on Mars. Everyday sounds we make all the time doing our normal routines would drop off in intensity greatly past 30' or so. I'm almost certain Mars had micro-life in the ancient past at the least. Something akin to bacteria/archaea. There might even be something still there, barely surviving, just an echo of the eons. Those "spotted rocks" are pretty good evidence, but you can only know for sure if you could samples back to earth to test with all the lab instruments and techniques we have here on the ground. 66 You know, an updated version of the V1 buzz bomb would be a worthy addition to the arsenal. Carried a thousand kilogram warhead. The pulse-jet engine was cheap to build. Nowadays, they could be fitted with GPS navigation, and programmed to take evasive action when they come under fire.
Key is: cheap to build. You can afford to build many thousands of them, and if some fail to get through, oh, well. The Viking landers back in the '70s carried a number of biological experiments aboard to test for life in various ways. A couple of them gave positive results, but they were discounted as likely some abiotic chemistry of some sort, due to the apparent total lack of organic compounds in the soil. That was wrong, and we know now that Mars has many organics. There was a recent paper calling the original conclusions in questions, and concluding the jury is still very much out on just what Viking may or may not have detected. Posted by: JTB at October 26, 2026 08:34 PM (yTvNw) I don't know what the 'correct technique' is but the way I did it is how I do all my paintings and that is to look at the 2D image and see and copy the 2D shape and color and don't let my mind see the actual image. And I don't know if I mentioned before but my paintings may be unique in that I use no other mediums and paint only straight from the tube. No thinning or drying mediums which makes it much harder to paint with oil but I decided not to expose myself to the harmful chemicals when I first started. I don't even use quality brushes because I throw them away after a painting session because I don't want to use thinner to clean them. Posted by: polynikes at October 26, 2026 08:59 PM (Ti9vn) 150

From Wikipedia :
"Although Boeing produced the prototype XF8B in 1944 and the X-32 entry in the Joint Strike Fighter contest in 2000, the P-26 was the last Boeing Company fighter aircraft to enter service until Boeing acquired McDonnell Douglas in 1997 and took over its production and continuing support contracts for the F-15 Eagle and the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.". We just put my mother in the ground this afternoon. Speaking of causes of death, I noticed they had to put something down for her.
