Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Leftwing Brazilian Strongman Lula Puts His Personal Lawyer on the Supreme Court, Who Then Orders the Polls to Remain Open in Lula StrongholdsAGBeege Wellborne at Hot Air: To recap: Brazilian polling stations are supposed to close at 5 p.m. sharp. A last-minute extension from a Supreme Court justice - who once happened to be the president's personal attorney - extended voting for two additional hours. This word arrived too late for many areas considered Bolsonaro strongholds. Their election officials were caught by surprise, had closed the polls and shut down the machines as prescribed, and sealed the boxes holding the ballots. There were no do-overs or restarts possible. Strangely enough, as Lula-friendly districts seemed to be lagging in closing up shop to begin with, they weren't bothered by the short notice on the extended hours and kept the doors open for all comers. Unsurprisingly, Lula votes soared. By 9 our time last night, mainstream media were crowing about 'Lula's amazing come-from-behind win!' Throughout election day, prediction markets were confidant that Lula's right-wing challenger Flavio Bolsanaro would win -- but the moment Lula's personal mob lawyer intervened so that his supporters could stuff ballot boxes, they reversed to predict a Lula "win." They knew the communists had fixed the election. ![]() Brazil's markets and currency plunged Monday in the aftermath of leftist President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's reelection victory, prompting a temporary halt in trading in the South American country. Futures on the Brazilian stock index, Bovespa, fell nearly 15%, and the country's currency, the real, fell nearly 12% Monday morning, according to the Financial Times. Sunday's election victory for Lula marked a comeback after he narrowly lost to hard-right candidate Flavio Bolsonaro in the first round of voting earlier this month. Polls had shown the son of imprisoned Trump ally Jair Bolsonaro on track for a big win in runoff voting. In the aftermath of the first round, Brazilian markets had one of their best days in years, according to Bloomberg. Stocks had their biggest gains since 2020 and the real went up by 5%. Investors including the world's top meat producer competed for meetings with the candidate, seeing Bolsonaro as more market-friendly than Lula. Bolsonaro's loss has sent ripples beyond Brazil, which has been dealing with a debt crisis. Shares in the US arm of Brazilian investment firm XP were down 50% premarket. A Brazilian beer company that's part of Anheuser-Busch lost more than 10% in early trading, according to the Wall Street Journal. Lula, 80, first took office back in 2003 and was the first leftist leader elected since the fall of the country's dictatorship. He scored 51% of the vote on Sunday to secure his fourth non-consecutive term.So is that it, then? Do the communist thugs win again by cheating? Maybe not: Collin RuggBolsanaro is now saying he will request an annulment of the elections. I don't expect this to work. In this sort of crisis, where the communists have demonstrated they are playing for keeps and will do literally everything to cling to power, people tend to side with the party that appears to be winning, because the "winners" will probably arrest and kill the "losers." So the establishment defaults to supporting the fake "winners" just out of self-preservation.

If you think voting for the Dems "to teach Republicans a lesson" you are a fucking deranged retard. Or a liberal Dem lying about your true beliefs. Because, as in Brazil, and has happened in every blue state the Dems flipped in the last 20 years--once they gain power, they break the rules and pass laws so that they will never be out of power again. They like to put a walnut up against the chimney and chew on it so the roof acts like this big sounding board and it sounds like they're chewing my head. And even that wouldn't upset me quite so much except my home town declared its self a squirrel preserve and its illegal to kill the little @(*Y$#s!!!! So there's a kajillion of the furry tailed rats destroying everything and nobody can do anything about them Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at October 26, 2026 12:29 PM (TMNW7) 96

—— Washington used to be a purple state. Dems outright stole the governor race in 2004 with 3 recounts. After that they implemented mail in voting state wide. And since then not a single Republican has won a statewide race and Dems have controlled all levers of power. Posted by: Sandy Cocazio Ortez at October 26, 2026 12:33 PM (N8AvH) 104

- they will rush to certify the vote - corrupt judges will dismiss every challenge (but there, they'll likely mark it a crime to even challenge) - appeal courts will drag their feet and run out the clock - opposition leaders will meekly fold (or be bought off) - everyone will be forced to accept the result. - no one anywhere will ever be allowed to look at how many votes came in during those 2 hours or where they were cast. Babylon Five did such a good job with casting, I would never, ever have cast Bruce Boxleitner in anything but he was damn good in that. Just gleaning a few suggestive tidbits, most of them unconfirmed but I think accurately described.
Lula saw a huge increase in votes in states that are decidedly non-PT (Lula's party) states. South and southeast. Voters elected the most "conservative" legislature in history in the first round - then massively switched to Lula (including apparently the other non-left-wing candidates' voters, whose candidates were eliminated in first round). Just these two things are very suggestive suspicious indicators. The results just don't make basic political sense. The instant praise from the EU, considering the highly highly irregular process issues, redundantly confirms for the Nth time that Europe is hardly (overall) an ally in any meaningful sense. I didn't realize how invested the Soros Foundation was in Brazil. I just saw a list of their programs and the amount of money they invest in "Communist programs". They even have an office down Rio that's been there since the late 1990's.
Think up every Progressive narrative and they are financing it in that country (Hundreds of $ Millions). Not wonder the dolt, Alex (who is monumentally unimpressive compared to his old rotting man) was so excited. Most of that nonsense would have been shut down by a serious leader. In this sort of crisis, where the communists have demonstrated they are playing for keeps and will do literally everything to cling to power, people tend to side with the party that appears to be winning, because the "winners" will probably arrest and kill the "losers."

Koenig was great. He fell into financial hard times after TOS ended, but ended up making money writing teleplays. Roddenberry threw him a bone as well.
Koenig saw the script for Wrath of Khan, and knew that there was no way Khan could have remembered him from the TOS, because he wasn't in that episode with Montalban; he joined Trek later. He didn't say anything, however. A paycheck was a paycheck. Posted by: Darrell Harris at October 26, 2026 01:21 PM (7/W0k) 310

The graphic looks like the 0300 vote pause for Trump/Biden. When ! suddenly! votes were found. Maduro him if he is cartel. Rise up, Brazil! Fight! I wouldn't vote for Lula Lulu based on his ears alone. His madre did not care that her newborn was lying with his ears flipped over and smushed against the mattress. Now look at him! Ready to catch a wind and sail off like a demented flying monkey. The hilarious thing about leftists, especially lefties in Latin America, saying this result "saved democracy," is that Lula was at the top of the entire Odebrecht scandal (google Operation Car Wash).
It is easily the largest and most widespread corruption scandal in Latin American history. The Brazilian company, with Lula's guidance and assistance, bribed leaders across the region to secure infrastructure projects. They also funneled money illegally to campaigns, like the re-election of Juan Manuel Santos in Colombia, who was making "peace" with the communist FARC. Alas, to save democracy we must first destroy it. Huzzah. Posted by: Doug at October 26, 2026 01:29 PM (HjSEs) 320
