That post of the UK culture enhancer pointing her weapon at her coworker in the previous thread made me worry (more) for the future of western civilization. It is difficult to accept that so many people actually believe the "Diversity is our Strength" lie. She took a place that a competent person could have taken were actual merit the only consideration for the job.

Evening, Sunday nighters!
ABC'sSunday Night Movie is Ghostbusters. It's wonderful to see again -- except the network has cut it up to fit a two-hour time slot. The continuity is pretty much okay. But we are losing little things like "Back off, man, I'm a scientist," Peter offering Egon a candy bar, and the exchange where we first see that Janine likes Egon ("I collect spores, molds, and fungus"). Some of the character and charm is missing, in other words, especially when you know the dialog and scenes as a true fan. Ah, well. Its been a quiet day. How about yours? I could barely tolerate high heel shoes in my later school years. Now my feet want the 'barefoot' style shoes and will tolerate a lace up low hiking boot for riding and one pair of nice wider toe cowboy boots I found a couple years ago that are nice to slip on to do chores. Winter is best, I have a pair of comfy lightly insulated muck type boots that slip right on and are comfy. They are a cheap brand from TSC but have cute polka dots and are comfy.

She had a fantastic show on DisneyChannel "Gabby Duran and the Unsittables" where she babysat alien kids. Cute, funny show. On Instagram, she said she got a call 48 hours before the game to sing. She just finished a concert tour but wasn't going to pass that up. She also had videos of herself doing ab work at 7am so she likes showing that off... 3 minutes anthem.... https://tinyurl.com/yuxymr23 Posted by: Stateless - Ralphy - 106 years old! Evening, Doof, and ONT Horde. Pic up top looks like it could have been taken near Mayo, Yukon.
Frustrating shop day today. The stupid little Honda generator continues to defeat my efforts to make it start. No spark, at all. I know now it is not the oil level switch, nor the on/off switch, no the exciter coil, nor the ignition coil, nor the spark plug. Probably not the ignition pulse generator, although I cannot rule it out 100%. Leaves just the ignition module, or "spark unit" as Honda calls it. $379 on Amazon. Nope, nope, nope. Under a hundred bucks on eBay. Still a "Nope" for a part I cannot be certain is bad, and which is non-returnable. The pulse generator does kick out a couple hundred mV of AC when it is triggered. So a plan has been formed. Connect pulse generator to a GM 4-pin HEI module, which I should have several of on hand. Drive ignition coil off HEI module, using an external 12 volt battery as a power source. See if plug sparks. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at October 25, 2026 10:23 PM (1z+WB) 49

My wife and daughters on the other hand...let's just say that if the cobbler's children HAVE shoes, it is beacause they can afford them due to doing business with us. Posted by: Berserker-Dragonheads Division at October 25, 2026 10:26 PM (vzuC7) I scooped this thing for nothing at the dump. I am not going to spend big dollars on it. If the HEI module makes it run, then maybe $79 for a "spark unit" would make some sort of sense, It's a black box that also includes warning lights to indicate output, overload, and low oil. Running on the HEI would basically confirm that the present spark unit is nfg. Lynde was someone people only liked in small doses. Guest starring in some fussy role or a few quips on the Hollywood Squares, he was fine. ABC tried to star him in a sitcom in 1972, a Dad role. It was pretty awful. Pamelyn Ferdin played his daughter and she missed out on playing Edna Unger for a year when she was signed to the Lynde show. She didn't like him much because he was caranky and only ever called her "kid". She loved Randall and Klugman and they treated her like a niece.

Wish I had the thickest pack of index cards of my 200 student HS of stupid stuff, like talking in class, being late for class due to talking, &, the most worst horrible thing of all was my bf talking me into the Beta Club photo for the yearbook. I wasn't in the Beta Club. I really got yelled at for that one! And had to pay for another picture (I should have asked for the rejected one as it was a really good photo of me). I just stared at Mr. M. as he yelled at me almost weekly. Breezed in and said hey to the secretary. I wasn't bombing anything or stabbing people! Big deal! Just so you young whipper snappers know, I was rocking similar espadrilles like those above in the mid-seventies in hippie dresses during college. They made me 5'10" or so. I still have the hippie dress from when I caught my dude's eye. Couldn't wear it now, but I kept it for my granddaughter's...who I hope are not hippies or bad like me. I've been watching The Final Problem on Netflix, a Spanish murder mystery series. I estimate it is set in the early sixties among the Jet Set beautiful people. Anyway, this talk of couture reminds me of a scene in third episode in which a fairly attractive character walks out onto a patio but this time she's wearing a green outfit with hat and she is stunningly beautiful (maybe evil though). It seems clothes make the woman too.
Incidentally, something in this show I have not seen before. Of course, I need captions to translate into English. They also narrate the incidental music. "Tense strings, percussive piano." Posted by: Anonosaurus Wrecks, Where's My Cookie? at October 25, 2026 10:35 PM (ndZc7) 72

References to Abdul by name 20 Counting “Abdul” and “Abdul's” in Obama's remarks, excluding speaker labels. Personal stories about Obama ~8 Distinct anecdotes or passages, rather than individual pronouns. How much did he actually talk about Abdul? The speech ran about 41 minutes after Obama's introduction. His most concentrated discussion of El-Sayed came between approximately 23:26 and 30:46, when he discussed El-Sayed's policy positions, background, disagreements with Obama and Republican opponent Mike Rogers. He also endorsed El-Sayed at the beginning and end. The distinction is that Obama mentioned Abdul by name about 20 times, but spent much of the speech discussing national politics and his criticisms of the Trump administration. He also referred to himself repeatedly, sometimes to explain his record and sometimes to draw comparisons with El-Sayed. So, much of the speech was about Obama. Grab a beer if you guessed correctly. Posted by: lin-duh at October 25, 2026 10:24 PM (VCgbV) ******* While my DIL can certainly afford shoes, I give her my favorites. I parted with my 4" black peep toe heels a year ago. It was hard. My favorite boots of 20 are black suede heels with some sort of flower design on the side. Wore them all over DC for dressy stuff. Sad. I am going to organize my shoes soon as I am running a close second to Imelda Marcos. I buy leather only, take good care of them in their boxes, still have some from work and I need to get real. I can still wear 3" heels but if I sprain an ankle I'll never hear the end of it and need to cull. I despise going through clothes, which is what I've done off and on for two weeks. I keep telling myself that someone will appreciate this and then think it's probably an illegal and get ticked off. I get bored and leave is my story of chores. I need to get this done and never think about it again as it makes me ornery. Posted by: ChristyBlinkyTheGreat at October 25, 2026 10:43 PM (hzuYO) 87
