Report: DNA Proves Ilhan Omar Married Her Gay Brother

Federal prosecutors are planning to use DNA evidence to try to prove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) committed immigration fraud, as part of the sprawling investigation into the congresswoman, sources told The Post.
People familiar with the years-long criminal probe said the feds have made use of whistleblowers, government records and now obtained DNA in an effort to substantiate decade-old allegations that Omar -- and possibly members of her family like her father -- defrauded immigration authorities.
One source said the DNA evidence was critical to proving an allegation that Omar married her brother when she wed Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009 because she was trying to help him get a green card -- which never came to fruition.

It's unclear whether the DNA was taken before or after Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) searched the congresswoman's home in Washington, DC, last Monday, when federal agents were seen exiting the bungalow with boxes marked "Seized Property Evidence."
Another source pushed back on initial reports that investigators had gone "dumpster diving" in order to get DNA swabs of Omar, Elmi, who is currently residing in the UK, or family members.
Two more indicated that the execution of the search warrant on Oct. 12, coupled with the DNA and additional evidence, has provided a solid basis to bring charges of conspiracy to commit some form of immigration fraud before a grand jury, stemming from the probe initiated by the Minnesota US Attorney's Office.
Given the case is being pursued as a general conspiracy, the evidence will prove useful even if some of the acts fall outside of the statute of limitations.
"If you argue a conspiracy, you can allege overt acts in furtherance of the conspiracy that are outside the statute of limitations," said Neama Rahmini, a former federal prosecutor.

Meanwhile, James Comer thinks Ilhan "Omar" might have defrauded "investors" in her "winery."

She accepted "investments" in her "winery" -- which I speculate, pretty reasonably, was just an open-secret conduit for illegal political donations -- but the barrels of wine had no wine in them.

Comer continued, "Not only was there a huge discrepancy in the financial disclosure form, there was the winery that was the big base of her $25 million listing on her financial disclosure form." He added, "That winery has, according to the press, been shut down because of fraud. They were apparently selling investors barrels of wine to be aged, but there was nothing in the barrels."

This would explain why the winery suddenly shut down. Omar and Mynett made a killing off a business that either didn't have anything to sell or didn't have as much to sell as it claimed, and then they just shuttered the business and cut their losses, expecting no consequences.

I don't know if that constitutes fraud. I think that maybe the barrels wine is aged in are an asset in themselves, so maybe they were buying the barrels for aging wine, but never got around to buying the wine.

I mean, I'm 99% sure this business was a fraudulent front for buckraking, but I don't know if empty barrels prove that.

Of course there is more fraud than that:

Comer also referred to Omar's numerous connections to the Somali fraud network in Minnesota, including through earmarking taxpayer money for an alleged substance abuse clinic that was actually a fraud scam run out of a restaurant. Omar's sister Sahra Noor likewise seems to be connected both to the $250 million "Feeding Our Future" scam and a USAID fraud scheme. It's all in the family.

The process for denaturalizing a person who is a naturalized citizen -- after having come into the country as a lawful immigrant -- is very difficult, and the evidentiary burden is quite high.
But if Ilhan Omar was 18 or older when her father became a naturalized citizen -- or if he never became a naturalized citizen -- they she's an illegal alien now and always has been.
SHE claims she had derivative naturalization via her father. That means she never went through the process herself of becoming a naturalized citizen. If she had that would be very simple to document -- every lawful alien has an "A File" and evidence of her naturalization would be in that file.
If, as she claims, hers was derivative -- and if she was too old or her father lied to everyone about being naturalized himself -- she's going to get the boot because there is no lawful basis for her to remain.

Turns out he never made the required citizenship declaration when he turned 18 and his US citizenship was never completed, he was still a citizen of the czech republic and had been in the Navy for over 4 years based on being a US citizen.

We had to go through hoops at the state department to fix it. It took quite some time and multiple trips and affidavits from both him and his parents who luckily were both still alive to get it all sorted out.

The FBI wouldn't raid her stinky garbage looking for DNA if they weren't serious and/or didn't think they had anything. They are taking this very seriously, and I think they think they have something.

Whether that turns into anything that actually happens, we'll have to see.

I think they have her dead to rights on the financial crimes. And the FBI/DOJ have been taking financial crimes seriously, and indicting and prosecuting, even when it involved protected classes of people.

This scam was at the investment level. What I think was going on was the winery was soliciting investments in the company from "investors" who were likely really just donors or otherwise trying to curry favor with a US rep.

This is a very common way to launder money and evade financial disclosure. It's much easier, leaves less a paper and evidence trail, and can involve higher-dollar laundering than the old "fake product" scam.

Laundering money through fake companies is a yuge problem that's almost impossible to detect. Who is to say what the value of Company X was at the time of the investment? Lotsa legit companies are worth millions on paper but have little to show for it yet.

It's a common practice for wineries to sell whole barrels of a vintage. They do so under custom barrel programs, private-label packages, or wine auctions as well as a number of other programs. Barrel aging is just not done unless you are growing grapes and making port or sherry or something no one would buy from a fraud office.

- Yet, barrels are nice "decor" and it is possible the empty barrels were for display in the office. A couple mason planks and they make a nice desk or conference table.

Seeing Republican districts turnout to make sure that there isn't depressed turnout on that front.

And, black turnout being down (if South Dallas is any indication, it's very down comparatively).

Democrats can't win statewide if Republicans are actually voting and blacks aren't.

They'd need massively depressed Republican turnout and massively inflated black turnout to have a remote chance.

This is a very common way to launder money and evade financial disclosure. It's much easier, leaves less a paper and evidence trail, and can involve higher-dollar laundering than the old "fake product" scam.

You get to try someone based on where the crimes were committed. A lot of the financial crimes were committed in Minnesota which has the entire state to draw a jury from. Same for the fraud in immigration--jurisdiction is MN. All DC magistrate did was sign a warrant for her home in DC, not where the cases has to be tried. Normally you go to wherever the evidence is and the local magistrates execute the search warrants on the ground. This was true even regarding Trump. Local magistrate judges issued the Mar a Lago search warrant even though Smith was using a DC grand jury at the time.

Motorcyclists and bicyclists are some of the worst assholes on the road. It's almost as if they don't realize that a car or truck or semi are much, much more massive than they are. Oh, I watch for them, despite some of the stupid behavior (including one that, when I tried to pull into a parking entrance and the car in front of me hit the brakes, so I was jutting into the bike lane) slammed his fist on the trunk of my car...really, really stupid.
