I was mid-hip thrust when I found out @Shanemgillis had called me a whore. Technically I found out four hours later, when I reviewed the footage of Saturday Night Live. My tripod was on the bench, my ring light was clamped to the squat rack and my boyfriend Tanner was holding the back-up phone for the side angle. Tanner films all my content. He is not allowed to look at me.
The "joke" was about how women dress at the gym. I know it was about me, because everything is. So I did what any survivor would do. I went to my car and filmed myself crying. It took 11 takes, because the lighting in a Range Rover is unforgiving, and grief is no excuse for a bad shot. In the final cut, you can see a single tear land on my sports bra right over the logo, which clicks through to an affiliate link. My caption: "I'm literally shaking."
Then I put on the shortest shorts I own, went back inside, and filmed my ass from three angles with the caption, "Does this outfit work for you, Shane Gillis?" I wanted to send him a message that my body is not for men. To make sure Shane got the message, I tagged him. Then I tagged every man I follow. Some people say my response proved his point. These people are rapists.

Some cuckboy at Philadelphia Magazine insists that Shane Gillis broke six "rules" of comedy, which are all various ways of saying women are always right, never "punch down," and never attack any group associated with the political left.

What would comedy be without some strict rules imposed by political commissars?

I assume "the right conditions" are "when you're attacking a Fox News presenter or Republican congresswoman."

But for Shane Gillis it's a nonstarter. His resting stage persona is somewhere between frat boy, Bugs Bunny, and a bouncer trying to memorize the address on your ID. Like he's always on a boozy power trip. Like he says "whores" a lot. Opinions vary over how the "whore" line went over in the room, but the social media reaction has been a rousing thumbs-down.

I think it might be Iliza Schlesinger, just because she's the only mid-profile blonde attractive comedienne I know of. Kind of looks like her. But she's a dumb lefty. I guess the take here is permissible to the left, because it's not mocking the left per se, but only mocking corporate/media attempts to pander to the left through stupid catchphrases and bubblegum pop ideology.

Though here she is also hitting the stupid fembot internet anti-culture. She does say that this "glitter speak" was invented to sell you "pencil cases," but she can't have failed to notice it is not corporations chiefly responsible for this infantilizing cant. It's feminists on the internet generally. Femfluencers.

The failed show The Boys used this kind of humor to "attack the left" and show they were hitting "both sides." But they weren't. The show attacked the right for being the right and didn't attack the left at all, they just attacked corporate media powers for slinging slogans to appeal to the left like "Girls Get It Done!" So the show attacked the right and the inauthentic fake corporate left. Never the real left.

And just in case you missed that point, they got very aggressive and overt with their anti-Christian, anti-traditionalist, anti-male sloganeering in later seasons.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of hers, but damn it, this is a solid rant. I am so tired of this "glitter speak."

Update: Yes, it's her, and yes, she's a raging feminist and is only attacking "the commodification of feminism."

Except she knows this is a lie. Again, it's not Pepsi or Volvo or Papa John's that talks like this 24 hours a day, it's feminist women on the internet writing for themselves and not for any corporation.

I think the left has corporatized so much over the last few decades where their support is all the result of mass media companies, not anything grassroots, that they don't realize that attacking the corporatization of leftism is actually an attack on the dominant form of leftism in the Western World.

Leftists generally aren't looking to counter-culture or underground figures for their signals or messages, but corporate mouthpieces. So, the left hates it, but they rely on it in totality. It's an interesting dynamic.

More like Jonathan Creek who was a technician that designed magician illusions. Ludwig is a puzzler (one who writes puzzles) and a bit at sea with the world having been a shut in for most of his life. So there are Monk vibes here. They introduce a twin brother also played as a mostly offscreen presence for Mitchell as well. The brother was a Detective Inspector and got involved in some shadowy overarching plot that required the shutin to impersonate him in the first series and now as a consultant when he was revealed as an imposter at the end of series one.

Want humor, David Mitchell's older and much shorter series, Ambassadors, is actually quite good. And he works in a Prince Andrew visit in that series without of course directly naming the prince that came to the country to charm them for contracts.

That sounds about right.

I was a long time fan of Levy and O'Hara--and really all the SCTV cast. (Besides Robin Duke, Tony Rosatto, and some of the fill-in players before they landed at SNL).

Harold Ramis did some great stuff at SCTV while he was head writer, too.

I don't think the Dems concentration on Orangeman Bad rather than a new trove of goodies for the gimmedats is working. DSA type candidates are making it worse in some of the key close races too.

Pretty obvious that the EU wants to keep the Russian money they froze to backstop the whole banking and economic system of the Euro. I think that is what is driving it in part. They cannot go to their people having wasted billions on Ukraine (and of course kickbacks right back to the Euro pols) without being able to grasp some way to call it a victory. Stealing the frozen money is part of that I think.

It's already a big L - the uncertainty of having your stash swiped when the Euros get on their high horse is very disturbing to a lot of foreign investors and many are finding other outlets that are safer. I'm sure they'd love the money too but even the 250 billion isn't gonna last them long even if spent wisely...and it won't be spent that way.

There is an entire panoply of workout clothes for people of all shapes and sizes that exists and has existed for the last couple of decades, which allows you to move and get your workout in without unnecessary encumbrance.

These things existed and girls wore them when I was in college 25+ years ago. Running shorts, actual sports bras and athletic tank tops that aren't glorified body paint.

The girls didn't gripe back then, and guess what, the guys still stole a glance because leaving something to the imagination is actually sexier than wearing underwear to the gym most of the time.

Why, for starters, do these women care what others think about they gym clothing? Granted I would be uncomfortable with the shorts and adjusting. Much less being with guys who can't help but look if you are next to them.

I'm a grandmother and still get hit on wearing long tee shirts and capri leggings in a park with grandkids. I don't want to be hit on (husband was taking our crazy #1 girl to the loo) at this point in life. I was not flaunting anything at a picnic table with grandson.

I never had to try in my prime because I was nice to look at and fun, wearing jeans and a stylin top. I didn't ever think about swishing in to catch a man.

I caught the one I married without trying. In fact he was dating a classmate and I refused to go out with him til he cleared that up. No way was I a boyfriend stealer or even thought about stealing a married man.

If you want to dress this way, go for it (I guess).
If you look good why care what others (men) think? That's empowerment, baybee. Not that I agree with what you wear, but it ain't Iran.
