Oh, No! DOJ Seeks Perjury Indictment Against January 6th Fabulist Madison Cornbread

Not Madison Cornbread!

Madison Cornbread, no!

Noooooo!

Federal prosecutors have been presenting evidence to a grand jury in Washington, D.C., on whether former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson may have lied to Congress in her testimony related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, two sources familiar with the matter told CBS News....

In a series of depositions and public committee testimony, she said that Mr. Trump and Meadows had been warned on Jan. 6 that some of his supporters were carrying weapons to the Capitol, but that Mr. Trump said he didn't care and tried to order officials to remove the magnetometers.

LOL, sure.

She also relayed a story she said was told to her by then-White House deputy chief of staff Tony Ornato, in which Mr. Trump grew incensed after his lead Secret Service agent declined to drive him to the Capitol after the president had delivered a speech to supporters.

Her actual claim was that Trump reached over from the back seat to wrest the steering wheel of the limousine while shouting some comic book villain dialogue like "Curse your insolence, knave! I shall have vengeance this day!" or some bullshit.

Her account was later contradicted by Mr. Trump's driver, who in sworn testimony claimed that the president never tried to grab the steering wheel.

...

In an unusual move, the Civil Rights Division -- and not the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C. -- is handling the Hutchinson investigation, sources said. It was not immediately clear why that office was assigned the case.

I think that you are correct but I also think that Trump is planning unpleasant October surprises for the Dems each week before the election. This week H1B/OPT evisceration which affects white males in the tech industry, next week chief rat Brennan goes before the grand jury and I would not be surprised of Trump going medieval on Somali fraud (see Minnesota and Ohio races that would affect), and so on.

Expect more illegals being deported, charged with illegal voting, etc. as well.

We have incomplete data nationwide, but this is due to different state policies regarding what data is published.

There are no indications that the trends we are seeing are not occuring everywhere. There is no reason to think the effects are local to individual states.

Those trends are:
1) Early vote in Dem strongholds are way down for both mail and IPEV
2) The youth vote has cratered
3) 65+ is by far the largest share of the vote
4) Rural Trump+ counties are seeing strong returns, in many cases matching 2022 final numbers with 22 days left

These are trends that make it impossible to flip a red state. Any thought that AK, KS, IA, FL, or OH can flip is wishcasting.

I've felt for a long time that Cooper should be considered the underdog because of the end of his governorship being so bad and the registration changes since he last won statewide.

That should heavily blunt his name recognition advantages and provide support to generic Republican opponent, and Whatley has no scandals so he's effectively generic Republican.

Trump won by 3 just 2 years ago in NC. The idea that Cooper was going to flip that to a 10 point win was always ridiculous. The race will be close, and I think Whatley could have the edge.

Seems to me the first two are a lot easier to do under stress and pressure than the last one. Of course, giving women the option to use a gun against their attacker is the best option, and the one they'll never allow.

2002 was also post 9/11, giving a universal sense of goodwill to the party in power.

If 2026 is going to resemble 2002, it won't be because of narrative reasons. It'll be structural, like, say, one party having grown completely accustomed to winning elections through fed grant monies and election fortification that they suddenly can't do anymore and no one in the power structure has the right muscles to pivot effectively to real electioneering.

Doesn't appear so in the states where party id is known. The diehard ideologues are probably voting D like the no kings Boomer Dems. But they need much bigger turnout from urban blacks, young voters, and even Millennials than what we are seeing so far. And these were typically vote by mail types. Dems fallback is that Orangemanbad has made mail in voting unsure so they are going to be voting early. Some are so ludicrous as to claim that Election Day voting is going to be Dem.

None of that cope so far is warranted by known actual data. And now the polling is starting to be corrected state by state by reputable pollsters that want to lessen the harm of getting it badly wrong.

This week H1B/OPT evisceration which affects white males in the tech industry, next week chief rat Brennan goes before the grand jury and I would not be surprised of Trump going medieval on Somali fraud (see Minnesota and Ohio races that would affect), and so on.

Expect more illegals being deported, charged with illegal voting, etc. as well.

But I think it is fair to assume the 65+ age group are voting 10-15 points more R then D...

Pretty much. Every swing state has had increased GOP registration since 2026 while states were forced in to purge voters. Oregon had to so much that Drazen now has a chance at flipping the Governor's office in OR. Hilton in CA is also not getting blown out possibly by Becerra.

PA, ground zero for Scott Presley, is where we see his work in raising GOP registrations is paying off in increased absentee ballot requests by GOP voters in PA. Couple of crucial house seats at issue there.

NC and GA are the most problematic for GOP right now but even there, showing signs that the electorate will be older and whiter than even 2022.

124 The administration that accused the Biden administration of "lawfare" adds to its ongoing pattern of going after and indicting people who appear to be enemies of or threats to it, lobbing apparently frivolous indictments and lawsuits. "The process is the punishment" may be the goal as these cases seem to lack substance.

From what I understand, they can't even sue the government in return for bringing these cases even if found to be hollow and tossed out or deemed vindictive prosecution.

The process is the punishment. It's about making people think twice before they speak out about what they witnessed unless they want to find themselves in the same position.

Most political ads are lies. Why are there no lawsuits or at minimum, retaliatory ads describing why their lies?

Talarico's PAC's are running an ad where they say Paxton gave an "Epstein style sweetheart deal" to a pedo who spent one day in jail.

The TRUTH is, the guy was tried and the jury deadlocked, leading to a mistrial. They did NOT retry him because the parents of the minor in question, the lead witness for the prosecution, chose not to have the boy relive the pain of that again. No retrial, no conviction.

But Paxton is the MOST CORRUPT EVAR!!!!!!

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, calling the incident an "outrage," said the man was in a vehicle with a 5-year-old child at the time.

GOP had this problem in 2010 when it took the house but failed to take the Senate because of odd nominees with no experience. Sayed has no experience whatsoever as a pol. Ditto for Acton. Talafreako is another with scant experience other than a backbencher Rep from a very safe district.

Prior bad history with Muslims and wanting to keep their property and not be taxed to death for fraudulent and criminal aliens is not a recipe for success.

Obama won by a unique set of circumstances that simply are not present now and probably won't be in 2028. Massive youth vote (which is shrinking now as a percentage of the electorate), people wanting racial salvation/expiation, and Bush screwing the pooch in the Middle East and at home with the housing and banking meltdowns.

I don't see any of those circumstances in 2028.

Absolutely nothing for you to be sorry for. I've lived my adult life knowing that I wouldn't get anything from my family, so I've lived accordingly.

The way the S-S handled things after my dad passed was pathetic and mostly a slap in the face, but I chalked it up to "to the winner goes the spoils" because her mom lived longer.

I could've likely made myself the asshole and contested everything by pusing 'of sound mind' since the S-M has dementia and Alzheimer's......but that would've been horrible on her and not really solve much of anything.

I'm just doing everything I can to make sure when we're all said and done, our daughter has something for her nest egg.
