Trump Announces That Almost 500 Criminal Fraudsters Have Been Arrested While Living in Taxpayer-Funded Public Housing

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Office of Inspector General (HUD OIG) today announced the results of Operation Clean House, a multi-agency, multi-month law enforcement initiative targeting fugitives living in HUD-assisted housing.

Persons arrested included those wanted on outstanding felony warrants for serious offenses, including drug trafficking, weapons offenses, aggravated assault, fraud, rape, second-degree murder, sex offenses against children, and possession or manufacture of an incendiary device. In addition, 10 firearms were also seized during the operations.
"This year, we have made one thing unmistakably clear: HUD OIG has zero tolerance for individuals who threaten the safety of people residing in HUD-assisted housing, jeopardize the families who live there, or exploit the programs designed to serve them," said Acting Inspector General Brian D. Harrison. "We have taken an aggressive approach to identifying and removing fugitives from these communities, and neighborhoods are safer because of it."
"These arrests are only one part of our strategy," Harrison continued. "Our investigators, auditors, evaluators, and analysts are attacking threats to HUD programs from every direction. Whether it is violent criminals hiding in HUD-assisted housing, fraudsters stealing taxpayer dollars, or weaknesses that leave federal housing programs vulnerable to abuse, we will use every authority and every tool available to protect these programs and the people they serve."

Working with our federal, state, and local partners, HUD OIG will continue to pursue those who threaten these communities and undermine the integrity of HUD programs. Obviously this all could have been done decades ago. It doesn't require hiring more federal officials, or pouring billions more into the government.

It just requires a president willing to actually arrest criminal fugitives.

It's been the presidency.

There are hosts of laws that people are breaking to make our nation worse, and the executive branch has, at best, picked at the edges of it.

Getting the executive to actually enforce this stuff for the first time in decades is really game changing.

Executions are tools of the state, it's tool of exclusivity on violence, and used by the state as the governing body as chosen by the body politic to enforce moral codes.

Given the average rap sheet, I would suspect incarcerating these thugs will prevent additional multiple crimes from being committed. That is the broken windows thesis which Rudy and the NYPD proved correct. Even prosecuting fare jumpers while seemingly trivial ended up reducing violent crime because roughly 2 percent of the population are hard core criminals 24/7 365 days per year.

Societies either have to lock them up to incapacitate them from committing more crimes or kill them.

Research on the effects of the Bloody Code in UK history corroborate this effect btw. In the UK case, they chose to execute them.

Hulk Hogan made a switch to heel in order to revive the brand, and it worked - the public loved to hate him and attendance exploded. His thesis is that Trump is often "playing the heel" in what he says and does. It is just to make himself a lovable villain, knowing that it is best way to get attention to whatever it is he is working to promote at the time.

This line of thinking is very Scott Addams-esque -- identify a subject you want the public to discuss, play the heel and do outrageous things, keeping aligned with the goal but going against what all the right people think is proper.

It's all kayfabe. I think a good example is the firing line execution -- it's a great opportunity to grab the headline. It's like throwing a folding chair at the ref.

299 Kurt Schlichter posted on X the regs regarding a military firing squad. I read through some of it. If I remember correctly, the Sgt. prepares 8 rifles, one for each member of the firing squad. The Sgt. "may" put blanks in from one to three of the rifles, at their discretion. So, as some have asked, yes, there may be blanks on one or more of the rifles, or they may all have real rounds in them.
