Cornell 7 Frat Brother: I Was Too Drunk to Give Consent, She Raped Me
It is true that almost everyone involved was drunk and drugged (by themselves).
Why isn't it true that the accuser raped the boys, who, per the new feminist theory that being drunk negates any concept of consent, also could not consent to the female attacker's advances?A "Cornell 7" frat bro accused in the alleged gang-rape of a young woman claimed to campus cops that he was too wasted to consent to sex with her -- suggesting he was the real victim, according to records. Matthew Ingalls -- one of the seven Chi Phi fraternity brothers at the center of the explosive Ivy League case -- told Cornell University police that he was the one too intoxicated from booze and ketamine to consent to sex that fateful 2024 night, records obtained by ABC News showed. Ingalls suggested that the alleged victim -- a then-20-year-old student only identified as Jane Doe in court papers -- was the one who therefore assaulted him during the debauched and drunken night and not the other way around, as she has claimed. Ingalls has previously been identified as the frat brother who told his friends through a fraternity group chat to "come whip it out" after another had announced there was "free p--sy" to be had in the house, referring to the accuser. "Like you can walk in and whip it out," he wrote in the chat, which had nearly 60 people in it. "Boys come whip it out." Ingalls allegedly fell asleep at one point during the sexual encounter -- prompting another brother to reportedly take his place -- before he woke again later and rejoined the sex, documents released by the Tompkins County District Attorney's Office showed. ... Ingalls' reported comments to cops were just the latest twist in the confusing case, which has seen contradicting claims from all parties involved -- including Doe herself, who originally assured Ingalls everything they did together was consensual, Cornell documents showed. But that idea slowly began to shift in the ensuing weeks as she kept thinking about how the night transpired and after rumors began swirling around campus and people suggested Doe had been raped. The woman also sued her own sorority, Delta Delta Delta, both the local chapter and the national organization. The lawsuit says that before she arrived at the Chi Phi fraternity house that night, she had "consumed about 10 standard drinks within the past 3 hours." Looking at the lawsuit's timeline, it appears nearly all of that drinking took place at the Delta Delta Delta sorority house. The lawsuit said that Delta Delta Delta "held itself out to the public, and more particularly to [the woman] herein, as possessing the proper degree of safety measure to adequately protect its members and to use reasonable care and diligence in its monitoring and policing of the [local chapter's] house and those living in and utilizing said house." In other words, the woman is suing her sorority for allegedly not putting a stop to her heavy drinking.
... The governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, then named state Attorney General Letitia James as a special prosecutor for the case. James, of course, is legendary for campaigning for office on a platform of pursuing President Donald Trump, and then, once elected, concocting an elaborate but embarrassingly thin fraud lawsuit against Trump.... The lesson of the Trump case is that if Letitia James wants to get someone, she will figure out a way to get someone, whether or not it's a case that will hold up in court. The Chi Phi members will need to prepare for that. When the accuser's lawyers released her lawsuit, a number of observers pointed to the evidence that authorities originally gathered in the days and weeks after the 2024 incident. It seemed clear that the woman had consented to what took place, a conclusion supported both by the county district attorney and the Cornell Office of Civil Rights, which conducted the university's investigation. It seems likely the case will become even more political in coming days and weeks. And, as with everything else in our society, it will become to some degree about Trump. A media narrative, and a social media debate, will emerge in which the fraternity members become associated with Trump, and the woman becomes associated with the forces of good and decency standing up to Trump. On ABC News's This Week on Sunday, the New York Times's Michelle Cottle pointed to a series of noxious social media messages the fraternity members sent about the woman. "You can't send those messages, no matter how drunk you are, as a frat boy without having some kind of misunderstanding about what women are there for and whether this is a real person you're dealing with," Cottle said. And who might be to blame for that? Cottle pointed to Trump. "And that, I think, starts, you know, we can go to the president for this one," Cottle continued. "I mean, we are in a moment in this culture where the glorification of being thuggish and swaggering and mistreating women is kind of making you a cool kid." It took just a couple of weeks from the lawsuit being filed to a newscast explaining that Trump was somehow involved. And it's likely that the politicization of this case is just getting started.

Title IX now needs to change the rules for males.
It all goes back to booze, underage drinking (or drugs). And most of the time the male is blamed.
Does not matter if SHE initiates sex, texts about sex, or provides the booze/drugs.
In this case she did sex for drugs (as she was already drunk). Same as prostitution.

See, I disagree there - there are always roles for women - they just might not be the same roles as men have. And the most superior women who can make the men standards at select spots should probably get a shot at those spots - what we have done is dumb down standards, and that's where we fell. And when that woman makes those select spots, it should be the same way a man has to - no extra tutor or help or rewash...

Also: this all took place over the course of 6 fucking hours. At least some of the guys were passing out, waking up, and then going at it again. The girl alleges she passed out too at one point, then woke up and had the last 3some at like 6 am. Just fucking nasty all around.

The people going hardest on X against this, that I've seen, are women. They're spitting mad over this. At least in part because every time someone does this it adds weight to doubting people who've actually been assaulted.

They're all culpable in varying degrees, both this young women and the guys involved. That's my personal read of this entire gross thing. And the immoral behavior is just a sign of the times, sadly.
I think I'll grab my Bible and go read a bit...wash some of this societal decay off.

Yep. Sometimes there is not a broader meaning to people doing stupid shit that is both immoral and quasi illegal (ketamine for example).
This is not a tragedy in a common sense because all of them (other than the guys that got randomly texted or the guy that stuck his head in the room and left when he saw what was going down), were complicit in the bad decisions made. No one was killed, no innocent kid was born/aborted from this unholy union, and it has more or less slimed those involved and likely the institutions involved in the whole mess--Cornell, the sorority, and the frat involved.
I am always bemused in these instances where suddenly we go into hysterics over things that have existed since the dawn of time, in moral times, and in immoral times. Sex, youth, and intoxication equalling bad decisions have been around since we were around campfires in caves.
I think I'll grab my Bible and go read a bit...wash some of this societal decay off.

I graduated from Cornell 25 years ago and was in a fraternity. In no way would I want to attend there today given how radical the university has become. That said, the fraternities seem to be nothing but a liability at this point and probably long overdue for accountability. I'm not judging whether any of this was consensual or not but they've always been out of control.

I’d get felt up walking to classes, boys would cat call and say gross things. Lots of drunk behavior by both guys and girls. We laughed it off.
We learned as young ladies to deal with it. If a slap and a stern “knock it off “” didn’t work, we enlisted our brothers or good “guy” friends to explain that if the unwanted behavior continued, there would be consequences.
Young women are not strong and powerful today. They are all victims and refuse responsibility for their choices and actions.
These girls’ mothers have failed them if they did not explain the real world.
And I told my daughters if you are raped, go directly to the hospital and make a police report. Anything else is not gonna fly in a court of law.
