We ar expecting rain on and off all day. Miss Linda mentioned going to an Art for Art's Sake event in the uptown area tonight. I have multiple objections: Driving and parking up there is a hassle, I don't want to walk around in the heat, crowds, and it may rain. Which last might save me from the entire project.

The Brits have arrested a crazed lefty for killing Anne Widdicomb, a former Reform MP and close associate of Nigel Farage. Apparently, this 28 yr old picked up a hammer, drove 270 miles and killed the woman while she ate lunch in her house. He hit her many times in the head with his hammer. The nutjob also is thought to have driven to London, doused the Farage family front door with lighter fluid and was preparing to burn the place down in the early evening, when he was disturbed by a neighbor and ran away.

Hand Me Down Android might have done well when it opened off Broadway, but was a victim of poor timing, in April of 2020. Panic over COVID 19 was ramping up into high gear and audiences stayed away in droves. The small number that did attend were made to sit six feet apart from each other no matter what their relationship and were separated by large plates of plexiglass. Actors were required to wear N95 masks, making it difficult to understand dialogue and the entire theater reeked of hand sanitizer.

Pro tip: if offered ghee-whiz for your coffee, request that the other person hold the whiz. Repost from last night: A Juneau woman apparently kept her dead husband in a chest freezer for years so she could continue collecting his Social Security, pension, and Permanent Fund Dividends. The last time he was known to have been seen alive was 2018, so this apparently went on for years. The corpse was in good enough shape that they could determine he'd died of natural causes. She got away with it, too. This wasn't discovered until after she herself died and a relative clearing out the house for the estate discovered Uncle Ross in the freezer. Most of the time Brave doesn’t work on this site. If you get it to work, contact the Vatican.
I am usually able to use Brave on iOS if I turn Javascript off. Usually. From time to time, something on the front page -- presumably a rotating ad -- causes it (and every other browser) to crash and reload until it gives up. The workaround is to hope that you can stop the load when the "Comments" link is visible. Unfortunately, Ace often likes to post hundreds of lines before the break. On those days, iPhone users are just SOL. Posted by: Oddbob at October 03, 2026 09:26 AM (vTZFs) 147

By the way, it was funny seeing the fake news saying "Gosh, the polls are starting to tighten" exactly when they always do.
I (and others) have been pointing this out for weeks. There is no early way El-Sayed has close to 50% of the vote. The guy can't even condemn fricking Iran. I'm going to put another marker down. There are a lot of "shy Trump Dems" who will never, ever admit they are voting for Republicans but are scared to death of El-Sayed. I'm sure a bunch of them are Jewish and in fact elected Jews in Michigan are openly saying they are voting for Rogers. Gosh, just as I said when the primary vote was tallied, West Bloomfield is not going to vote for this guy. So with the Dem base collapsing, where are those new votes coming from? Suburban soccer moms? How is he doing in Detroit? Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at October 03, 2026 09:42 AM (ZOv7s) 188

Rubio has been a revelation and while I didn't know much about Hegseth (other than he was hated, which was good), he is doing an amazing job of upending the bureaucracy. The whole name change to War Dept. smoked out tons of woke traitors who stood on statute and defied direct orders. That's one reason Hegseth is constantly put down, because he wasn't in the club, and the insults show just how alienated the flag officers are from their subordinates. Reducing flag rank billets does a bunch of things. First, it's easier to clean house, and a lot will retire rather than accept a grade reduction. Posted by: Cosda at October 03, 2026 10:17 AM (qQcHX) Yeah, that would be the bare minimum if you're going after the big brown bears. I myself would want something with a bit more authority. My actual preference is to leave them the hell alone. I see hunting as a way of getting meat, not a sport, and the brownies don't make good eating (black bears can be pretty tasty, but you've gotta cook them very, very thoroughly). .30-06 is okay for moose. Norfolk, NE is pronounced Norfork by the locals, but there's actually a good story behind it. It sits on the North Fork of the Elkhorn River and was thus named Norfork by the original settlers. The US Post Office, in its arrogance, changed the spelling to Norfolk when it first established service there. But to this day, over a century later, the locals still pronounce it Norfolk.

>>What was the voter turnout in that NYC mayor’s race? I think it is a classic case of evil triumphing by good men doing nothing…
It was actually pretty large by NYC standards. Mamdani won because he got the vast majority of immigrant and youth vote. Same groups Abdul is going after. Abdul won the primary by getting a big turnout of muslim voters and voters in college towns.
