Reverse Assimilation...70 Years Old And Going Strong

The standard -- and correct -- complaint about the immigrants of the last few generations is that they do not assimilate. Never mind the illegal ones...even legal immigration policies have lost sight of the basic concept that preservation of our traditional culture is a good thing.

We need no justification to try to protect traditional American culture; that is the right and obligation of every sovereign nation. But if one were to attempt it, a cursory glance at the stupendous achievements of America would be enough. American Exceptionalism, which can be used as a placeholder for traditional American culture, is unparalleled in world history. No country has achieved nearly as much, especially with massive legal immigration that demanded only one thing! And that one thing was to embrace American Exceptionalism and become American. Tens of millions of people came to our shores and accepted that arrangement, and the results speak for themselves.

But starting in the 1960s with the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, Assimilation became secondary, as did maintaining the approximate ethnic makeup of the country. So we were flooded with immigrants from countries that had none of the cultural basis that created American Exceptionalism. And LBJ's "Great Society" took away the social pressure to succeed...expanding welfare and other government support programs far beyond their original intent.

With no pressure to assimilate, these immigrants created their own worlds within America. But that wasn't the most destructive aspect of this sea change in immigration. Our feckless governments began to cater to each of these foreign enclaves within our cities. Don't speak English? No problem! Comfortable with multiple generations on welfare? Fantastic! Vote for us!

And if that sounds bad, these anti-American-Exceptionalism cultural norms began to creep into the larger American culture. Black America, which before LBJ's destructive policies was entering the American middle class at an astounding rate, was destroyed by the creation of a cradle-to-grave welfare state.

We now have embedded foreign cultures, plus Black American culture that is functionally identical to a foreign culture. And instead of assimilating and embracing American Exceptionalism, these cultures have co-opted large swaths of traditional American culture. Black American and Hispanic slang has degraded normal English among many people, as has clothing and other cultural markers. Even smaller immigrant population's behavior has entered American culture. For instance, the odd Muslim affectation of a beard but no mustache can be seen on the streets of American cities, and even among professional athletes, in particular in the NBA.

More destructive is the modes of behavior, in particular the casual violence of the ghettos, which once was confined to the inner city, but has now exploded into much of America.

What we have done is not only allowed large immigrant populations to maintain their own cultures, which are empirically less successful than American culture, but we have embraced some of the worst aspects of those cultures...thus the term "reverse assimilation."

We are in an existential fight for the future of our country, and these large populations of of supposed Americans who nonetheless are completely foreign is bad enough, but accepting those cultures' worst excesses as some sort of post-modern talisman of moral superiority is, frankly, insane!

This, of course, was the whole point and most sinister aspect of Biden and the Democrats open borders policy.

It made the Death of America or if you prefer, the Conquest of America, a fait accompli.

The Conquest was completely peaceful, for the most part, and supported by Our Betters throughout the nation and culture.

To reverse the Conquest would take levels of violence and a single-mindedness that I don't believe would be tolerated by most Americans.

We'll see, as always but the Conquest supporters and America-Destroyers are already flexing their political and cultural strength.

22 Not sure old world are all lumped into this. If nothing else my very local area has lots , and do mean lots of Asian Indians. The single house developments are quite filled with them. In summer they have picnics, birthday parties, go to park with young kids. Have good jobs as see them in pffices, professional offices.

Well this covers a lot of groups. What about the Hasidic and ultra Orthodox Jews who insist on maintaining their own insular communities, including their own schools that don’t teach American history or much of western culture, who undermine the tax base and gratuitously use every social welfare handout available. You have entire communities where it is unrecognizable to the average person. What about that? Places like NY clearly don’t have the will to stop a lot of shenanigans because they are a key voting block, no matter how much they tell you they love Trump.

53 When my grandfather was a kid his family lived in a Swedish-speaking area, with two daily newspapers in Swedish, and my great-grandfather never learned English in forty years living in America. He worked with a Swedish crew, he lived in a Swedish area, and it just wasn't necessary. My grandfather, by contrast, refused to speak Swedish as an adult, celebrated being American above all things, and couldn't have cared less about Sweden.

Sometimes it takes a generational change to assimilate.

Today that’s no longer the case. That version of my friends would be speaking Hindi or Spanish or whatever. I most likely wouldn’t even be friends with them since they only associate with their own.

My only minor quibble is that I don't think the left puts assimilation 2nd. In fact, I think they do everything they can to keep immigrants from assimilating.

IMO opinion much of it boils down to the concept of Inshallah - defined as "As god wills". This can often lead to a 'give a damn' mindset because whatever happens, it was god's will. So why bother with putting any effort into anything. Again, IMO. Although I personally witnessed much of it when I lived over there in their environment.

There were many disagreements in the early church about the fundamentals of worship and biblical interpretation. Some of those resulted in schisms and different branches of Christianity. The order and tradition of the Catholic mass has evolved over centuries.
Point being, no you don’t necessarily need to go to church to have a spiritual relationship with God and his son Jesus Christ. But it is the Lords House and to share that worship, and the glory of God with others is not just spiritually enlightening it also helps to buttress you faith.

Every person knows the truth in their heart. It is whether you allow that truth to supersede all other distractions and corruption that makes the difference. Church can, and does help with those struggles.

Yet the Democrats will haul the accusation out every election like it’s established fact that the GOP wants to make an American Church of God and require attendance and tithes by every person in the country.

The closest thing we have to that is public schools and there are all almost exclusively run by the state and controlled by the Democrat party through their faithful & obedient priests and nuns we call “teachers”.

It was jihadi insiders and perhaps Iranian influence on the Dubai based airlines. A male flight attendant was trying to prevent the Israeli plumber for entering the cockpit. The flight attendants also wanted the jihadi released because 'he was no threat'. Speculation was that a US military camp in Jordan was in the route of the plane and the behavior of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and UAE has not been honorable in the aftermath.

The Democrats were always a coalition of the supposed 'outs' while secretly being directed by a coterie of wealthy oligarchs--planters in the South prior to ACW, northern financiers after, and now tech/infotainment/finance apparently.

Now that coalition has broadened to include Muslims and of course the secular humanists that have made their own man made religion of various doctrines like Global Warming, the cult of Racialism, and Marxism.

Oppositional culture that aims at burning down the place if they don't win.

Heck, they lie to each other with abandon which is why Arab princelings in Saudi don't want natives servicing their aircraft--they hire it done by outsiders. Same reason that the Turks relied on Jannissaries from captured and enslaved Christians as an elite force. They could not and did not trust their Arab allies.

Dreary terminology buzzwords because our current educational establishment cannot have actual thinking outside of the box because it will inevitably result in questioning societal mythos of the modern progressive era.

Like the keyword requirement on resumes and job apps, you have to show obeisance to the conformity of values demanded by society today. And that in part is why conservatives get weeded out in job apps for leftist dominated jobs while Muslims don't. Conservatives are lousy subversives but Muslims are just fine with doing what needs to be done in order to win.
