Lindsay Clancy's Scumbag Lawyer Kevin Reddington Contradicts His Earlier Defense, Now Insists That There's No Evidence Lindsay Clancy Murdered Her Children at All

He's in court to ask that the judge just declare Lindsay Clancy innocent.

During the trial, he accepted that Lindsay Clancy killed her children-- she admitted it three times, and there was overwhelming physical evidence besides -- but now, during this motion hearing, joins the Lindsay Clancy Conspiracy Cultists in wondering if someone else killed the kids.

He doesn't say it, but the Conspiracy Cultists claim that Patrick Clancy killed his children, then "hypnotized" Lindsay into believing she did it and confessing to it.

And this is where Kevin Reddington is now. Repeating the Cultist's conspiracies, ignoring his own client's admissions of guilt.

"Where's the evidence she did this?!" he now lie-asks.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington argued that prosecutors simply haven't produced enough evidence to prove his client killed her children. Prosecutors quickly fired back, publicly dismissing Reddington's assertion as a "laughable theory".
Despite the exchanges inside the courtroom, major rulings remain on hold.
Judge William Sullivan indicated that no substantial decisions are expected until at least November 2, leaving several key motions unresolved for the coming weeks.
Planning for a potential retrial also appears to be stalled. Both the prosecution and Reddington acknowledged that they are not yet ready to engage in formal discussions regarding a new trial date.
Reddington noted that he is unavailable to take the case to trial again until next June, though Judge Sullivan made it clear he has no intention of needlessly kicking the case down the road.
Outside of the core trial logistics, new legal representations have emerged. The holdout juror from the previous proceedings has officially retained new local counsel, bringing attorney Heather O'Connor on board, she announced in a press conference after the hearing.

That seems clearly an coordinated op. I'm 90% convinced the whole trial was a sham that the prosecutor never wanted to win. She threw the case, starting with picking the worst jury imaginable for the prosecution.

The case languished for three years before it limped into the trial. I suspect the prosecutors' office would have rather just dropped the prosecution entirely if they thought he could get away with it.

I'm not blaming Reddington for presenting his client's case as best he could. It's a dirty job. Someone gotta do it. The "insanity" defense is a good one, although Clancy got herself into this state of insanity in part by taking a cocktail of drugs from several doctors. Whatever. As noted, Reddington could take all that into consideration.
It is over the course of the case, that Reddington slipped into evil. I don't recall anyone here much complaining about Reddington (or even knowing his name) until he started fucking with the jury's deliberations.

How do we stop defense attorneys from, basically, falling in love with their clients? Seems like there is some conflict of interest here.

Eh, at seventy five, I think it more likely this guy thought she would be his ticket to celebrityhood and fame. Trial lawyers in general are pretty cynical about people and that increases the length of time they practice. Some criminal defense lawyers may go for years without representing a client that was actually innocent.

Some do stellar work for awhile and get burned out and segue out of the field, some become judges of one sort or another, others become plea bargainer types where they use their contacts with the DA office to get the least sentence possible. The remainder of long time criminal defense lawyers are like riverboat gamblers.

His prior bar complaints to this case speak of him mishandling client funds ( a huge no no that gets a LOT of lawyers disbarred, and some other client based offenses).

I hate to say it but, there is little wrong with this country that a few thousand murders couldn't fix. Our forefathers would have been stacking bodies a long time ago.
