96 Well, the subject isn't a load of laughs but the lady's talent is extraordinary. Rendering the details of clothing, bed linens, even the sword is realistic but the intense colors and use of dramatic lighting add many levels of emotion to the scene. What makes the image most powerful are the postures and facial expressions: grim determination for the women as they struggle and the panic and terror on the man. This is a level of artistry I expect from Rembrandt.

100 Compositionally, it's interesting how the use of blood-red in the blanket and women's sleeves makes the scene appear gorier than it really is. The only real blood is the few trickles on the sheets. Amazing capture of the struggle, though -- the man fighting for life and the women in concert, venting righteous anger. Quite a powerful piece.

in our current renovation of the master suite, the plumbing subcontractors cut out a lot of copper pipe then piled it in a closet. Today the contractor's folks working on replacing the subflooring have taken the copper out of the house and, I suppose, put it in their truck. I've been in that area. Lots of oil and gas drilling there now. Mostly low-lying muskeg and swamp. The trees, such as they are, grew back.

Do you have your contract? And while yes, they could ruin your house, but that would be dumb because they also could be sued and they need happy clients to get more happy clients. Even our contractor who is 1. Booked out to kingdom come because he is really good, and 2. A clients husband, which is the only way we got to him for a project that isn’t a whole house, wants us to be happy with his work.

This morning was a little rough, but I am also not 100% yet, at all. I haven’t worked out for myself in almost a week, which is crazy to think about. I am really glad my lead teacher told me I was not going to dive right in to teaching a weight work class day 1, and she put herself down instead. I feel bad, because that means she is teaching 3 of those in a row, and that is hard. I am teaching 1 more class today, and will workout, I will push through it. Teaching cardio tomorrow may be interesting!

It is not in the contract about who claims what debris, only that it is removed and site left in broom clean condition every day. Our contractor is very, very good (and expensive) but I am too wary to push it. Like I said, just feels like a screw-over.

Good luck on your reno. I always choose very old fashioned decor and the workers sometimes look askance at my choices. But Empress Alexandra of Russia was mocked by her own family for have everything made up in mauve. Too bad if everyone else doesn't like it.

Most landfills charge you dump a load, and sometimes upcharge for scrap wood and sheetrock. If you claim the copper, the quote for the job might be higher.

Piyyutim are religious songs sung in Jewish holy days. Basically like Christian hymns. You know how a lot of hymns are basically psalms or extracts from (say) Isaiah put to verse? Piyyuts are how Jews experience a lot of religious text even if they're not in the Torah / Chumash cycle.
Or so I've been reading.
There are some parts of Ezekiel which Christians find too weird to recite much in services. Jews find those parts just as weird, so the references to the Throne Chariot and so on end up in the piyyuts.

Presumably the contractor assumed that you wanted cleanup done, and factored the anticipated copper scrappage into the quote. Cleanup is a cost for him, remember. He has to pay his workers, pay for the truck, and pay to drop a load at the landfill. Unless you had a lot of copper pipe, I doubt it amounts to more than a hundred dollars or so.

I don't think there is any metal that cannot be recycled, unless its original use combines it with so much non-metal that the energy cost of concentrating it exceeds its value, like aluminum foil in food wrap. Lead is almost 100% recycled. Most iron and steel is. Much aluminum. Precious metals.

Copper stills are a pain in the buttox to keep clean. The reason for the copper is that it attracts sulphur, which can be present in the mash. Sulphur does not taste good in distilled spirits. Use a stainless steel column still and put a roll of copper mesh in the column. That mesh collects the sulphur and when you are done you can boil the mesh in vinegar to clean it.

I was waiting for Pookette in the parking lot at our church's version of Girl Scouts the other night when "Fat-bottomed Girls" came on the radio. I did *not* crank up the volume, in fact I turned it all the way down.
