All medical fraud requires a "patient" whose name can be used to bill the government for fake services rendered.
Cleaning up the rolls of fake enrollees who are easily used as "Straw Patients" will save billions more in addition to the $2.2 billion which will be saved directly by ending these fraudulent accounts. And deporting the illegal aliens signed up for the fraudulent Obamacare accounts will save even more money.Vice President JD Vance and other Trump administration officials said Tuesday they plan to remove 760,000 Affordable Care Act enrollees from public healthcare exchanges, alleging that the individuals were fraudulently enrolled in the program, or simply do not exist. Vance said the discovery and canceled subsidy payments for hundreds of thousands of people from the exchanges, part of an administration-wide crackdown on fraud, would result in $2.2 billion in cost savings. "We're actually making sure that the people receiving Obamacare subsidies are actually entitled to receive them," said Vance, who leads a government task force to eliminate fraud. He was flanked by Dr. Mehmet Oz, the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, and other administration officials. Vance said the cancellation of approximately 315,000 enrollments covering 760,000 people was done in part because the government was not checking whether people enrolled were eligible. Vance said another 419,000 enrollments will get additional verification to make sure they are eligible for the benefit. The Trump administration also announced a six-month suspension on new agents or brokers who sign up enrollees for healthcare coverage, who officials say commit a disproportionate amount of the fraud they uncovered. ... Premiums doubled or tripled for many enrollees, prompting millions to downgrade their plans or exit the program entirely after the Republican-led Congress allowed the subsidies to expire this year. The Government Accountability Office suggests fraud risks in the advance premium tax credit do exist - however it's unclear at what scale. The GAO conducted covert testing using fictitious ACA applicants enrolled in 2024 and 2025. A report released in December showed that the federal marketplace approved subsidized coverage for almost all of the GAO's 24 fake enrollees.Democrats immediately demanded Trump reinstate the fraudulent accounts -- proving that they're all about the fraud as a means of paying off their (often illegal) voters and then later receiving kickbacks from them.
From fraudulent enrollees, who are illegal aliens, who you claim aren't eligible for Obamacare and aren't on it.
Democratic lawmakers criticized the move to remove enrollees from ACA coverage. Richard E. Neal, a Massachusetts Democrat and ranking member of the Ways and Means Committee, said "Republicans have already created the worst healthcare crisis ever, but every decision by the Trump Administration is designed to keep making it worse." "As if making coverage harder to access through skyrocketing premiums and more red tape wasn't painful enough, they're doubling down to take it away entirely," Neal said.

It went from negative approval to +35 approval. Largely because of the temporary subsidies that the OBBB failed to extend.
Remember when the GOP was going to lose the midterms because the ACA was getting too expensive? It was like 12 narratives about the GOP losing the midterms ago, before Goode and Pretti were murdered and all immigration enforcement stopped.
Trump made the move to make the ACA unpopular again by ending the artificial price tags that people were seeing that made it seem so cheap. The political will may or may not develop after that to repeal it. We'll see.

The worst part is they are going after ppl that are on ACA but never had had to use their services. Those are the people you want on ACA, they are low cost and have the ACA as insurance *if* they need it (exactly how insurance is supposed to work)
I get the "advance premium tax credit" because I's po'.
The thing that gets me is if I had to pay the Obamacare premiums myself, I wouldn't be able to afford them (They're about a quarter of my monthly income), and if I had enough money to afford them, I wouldn't need the insurance, because I could just put that money aside myself and pay out of pocket.

I think part of the op is to plant stories and polls in the media that are negative for Republicans. It is on blast this election cycle. None of the positive on the economy is highlighted or made relatable to people’s every day life. Even Foxnews and the WSJ stories and now editorials are noticeably negative on Trump and Republicans every single day. They don’t have a single good thing to highlight except issues that are abstract. It’s all laced with a negative under current and you don’t need to read to far to read it. They continually play on gas and food prices without giving people a basic understanding about why things are that way and how they are cyclical. For example, I guarantee you by election time gas prices will drop. After the election they will return to normal. That not an accident. It’s on purpose. The other part is they never highlight negative about Democrats nor do they posit how they will govern based on what they say now and how they did it in the past.

Weak government oversight without consideration for abuse is the culprit. And, this was set up this way so that they could expedite enrollments to show a necessary government program.

Weak government oversight without consideration for abuse is the culprit. And, this was set up this way so that they could expedite enrollments to show a necessary government program.

This doesn't sound like much unless you understand how ballot dumping works. They take a residence and then misrepresnt it as an apartment (which adds residences via apartment numbers that don't exist). They they use those addresses for registrations. For every single illegally registered individual with a residence, there is the potential for about 50 to 100 other votes from non-existent addresses. Most of these illegal immigrants probably don't even know it's occurring in their names.
