Thank you!!! That was the one part that bothered me the most. I don't even care that the mob is engaged in mass psycho-social abuse of the bar owner. Xe probably hates my people and wants to erase our distinctive faith, culture, and features from the face of the Earth.

But words mean things, and it is not possible to be eugenicist against a bar full of genetic dead ends. If everyone there is a Darwinian failure, you could firebomb the whole venue on a packed Saturday night and not affect the gene pool, which they had already pre-removed themselves from.

I don't care about any of the people involved, who are all horrible and probably deserve worse. But words matter, and I hate to see them abused like that.

I watched horror movies the other night, put Ralphy on the bed, my friends' cat Snowflake stayed with him licking his ear.

I've been feeding Snowflake and her Mom Starry for my friends. There were storms. I brought in my emergency cat litter box. They're both outdoor cats. Currently downstairs.

I've kept them in last winter. Good cats. Don't damage anything. My friends have a big young family. Outdoor cats. I have a big house and am alone. So they're welcome.

This may be how the crazy starts...

Once the dog had to go out, and I called the vet for advice. She said she had plenty of deer/dog incidents, but never elk/dog. So I let him out.

He was a Bouvier, a herding breed. It was probably the best day of his life. He strutted up and down, saying My Herd. My Herd. The elk didn't care. They lifted their heads and went back to grazing.

After a few hours, one old lady trotted off and the rest followed.

67 Saw a lovely cow moose along the road last Thursday. The smart ones stay by the roads this time of year--hunting season. You can't shoot them within some number of yards from a public road, so they are safe there.

Once it snows, probably in a couple of weeks, we will see plenty of moose in the yard. There's one older mama moose who hangs out in our side acre, and then the boys start lining up for her to ignore. But she always has a calf in the spring, so somebody is getting the nookie.

When I lived in Maine moose would wander out of the woods into a field behind where I lived. I always knew they were big animals but when you see them in the flesh you realize how enormous there are.

But this mama moose was super chill, and we watched her and the calf casually move upstream.

Most dangerous wildlife on the highway, if you live in moose country. If you are in a car, you'll take the legs out from under them and end up with the rest of it through the windshield. My old bosses daughter had that unfortunate experience. She was OK, the car not so much.
