In our new research published in Lingua, we analyzed more than 1.7 billion words of online language across 20 English-speaking regions. We identified 597 different swear word forms - from standard words, to creative spellings like "4rseholes," to acronyms like "wtf."
The findings challenge a familiar stereotype. Australians - often thought of as prolific swearers - are actually outdone by Americans and Brits, both in how often they swear, and in how many users swear online.

Guy has a huge sandstone boulder as a gatepost to his estate, and embedded in that rock is a fossil that I thought was a crocodile, about 4 feet long, minus a tail. Web search tells me it is probably a Champsosaurus a reptile that was similar to crocs, but from a different line. They survived the big K-T extinction by a few million years.

The Royals were in the AL West before they went tonthree divisions.

Some team names just don"t fit because they are kept from a previous location- Lakers makes sense in Minnesota, not so mych in Los Angeles. There's nothing Jazz-y about Utah, but there was in New Orleans. Thanks tonSherman, Flames made sense for Atlanta, not so much for Calgsry.

Except maybe ivermectin. A teenage girl in Cameroon once tried to commit suicide with ivermectin pills. After literally filling her stomach with pills and water, taking over 100 times the normal dose, she got woozy and had blurry vision for a while.

And an upset stomach, but she was literally barfing up pills because she had no more room to swallow them, so I'm not sure that was the ivermectin and not just the physical abuse of her guts.

I think you are overlooking the obvious. China has been trying to build airports in Greenland for years as part of the Belt and Road strategy.

I quit dating actively dur to Covid... and suddenly realized just how peaceful my life became.

Then, Mom ( who I had taken care of in her last years ) passed... and my life became even MORE Peaceful.

The thing I realized late was that Freedom is the ability to say NO, and make it stick... but with Mom's, Wives, or Girlfriends, that is almost non existent. We are programmed to cave... to take it... to 'do the right thing'...

Oftentimes with women it is their friends who want to keep her miserable and single- like them.

For dudes it is similar, but usually in the guise of trying to protect your boy- so you tell him if she is a skank, etc.

And almost all female friends hate any potential hookup. For dudes, I mean. I did not get called 'Captain Save-A-Hoe' by my friends who were dudes.

Yeah, I eventually got to the place where I had Relationship me... and family me... and they did not mix unless absolutely needed.

Not just because of the female meddling... but also because I the family Women still thought of me as a 14 year old Kid... (especially Mom)... and would treat me as such in front of the Woman I was dating...

But... family programming had taught me not to confront them about their treatment of me...

I'm getting interested in Greenland's deep time geological history and climate. Like Antarctica, millions and millions of years ago, it was quite warm, green and lush. Dinosaurs roamed.

And then later, all sorts of fauna like mastodons, etc. You know the old questions if you could go back in time, when would go. Well, with me now, I'd go back in Deep Time shore 'nuff. I'd love to see just what the Erf was like during these ancient periods.

I didn't meet hubs until I was 27 and we married when I was still 28 but only for a short while. He turned 37 about a week before we tied the knot. First marriage for both and it lasted for over 40 years until he died. I don't think it is how old you are when you marry that is important, you just have to have the ultimate faith that this was the one you had been waiting for the whole time. I realize that I was fortunate and others have not experienced the same results.

Took a bookshelf up to the cabin this weekend. The 11yo wanted to come, so I brought her too. Today we did a steep 4-mile hike. The trailhead is practically next door, so I try to hike it every time I come, but I think this is the first time my daughter has gone up that far. At the top you can look down both sides of the ridge into two different valleys. I was proud of her!

This afternoon we took it easy while I fixed some things (two trips to the hardware store to replace a leaking regulator on the propane grill). I let her watch the first two Hobbit movies. I enjoyed the first one more than when I originally saw it. Last time it was too cartoonish for me, but this time it seemed much more powerful. The second one was still kind of blah: the unrelenting action got boring.

I heard the owner takes a "business trip" to Belgium four times a year. I had a peated sour ale once that . . . tasted like dirt. But it was delicious. Sweetie, you know what doesn't suck? You are there, with him, loving him, no matter what. It isn't nice that he is going to leave you before you leave him, but for heaven's sake, love the time you have. He also is not entirely the man you loved, but he is, and he can't help who he's become, so love him like you always did.

It will hurt like hell. It probably already does. Send your suffering to Jesus and He will accept it, and love you for it. The only reason for suffering is that it completes Jesus' suffering on our behalf. Otherwise, it is wasted. You may be miserable now, but it will count, and it does count, and He knows you and where you are, and what you deal with.

Goodness, dear heart, if I could I would be there.

I watched my dad and my mom go through all of this. It was miserable. But it mattered, and so does his suffering, and yours. Don't ever think otherwise.

And be strong, and loved, and bear it, because He would never send you anything that He would know you couldn't handle.

Anyway-- I visit hubs *every day* so that he won't feel alone.

He's just aware enough, that he knows he's 'stuck' there. Sometimes, I'm not sure he knows whether I'm his *wife* or just "that nice lady who has lunch" with him daily & brings his favorite foods. He often refers to me by his XW's name. (25 yrs with her. She's a nice woman!)

But really-- it's torture.
