Hollywood Is Fake and Gay: Wolverine Is Gay, Green Lantern Only Got the Ring Because of White Privilege

I haven't bothered covering HBO's Lanterns show because, at this point, who cares.

The show is being run by woke clown no-talent Damon Lindeloff, who previously turned HBO's Watchmen series into hardcore racial agitprop with a pronounced black-cuck fetish. And the other show-runner is an extremely woke DEI black woman.

If you're not a comics fan, I'll explain the Green Lantern: Hal Jordan, a fearless test pilot, was chosen as the bearer of a Green Lantern ring, which confers incredible power on the user and makes the user a member of the intergalactic super-police, the Green Lantern Corps. Basically Jedis in spandex.

The Corps had previously never considered giving barbarous earthlings a power ring, but Hal Jordan was such a standout -- eventually acknowledged as the greatest Green Lantern -- that rings were given to additional earth-men, including John Stewart, a black architect.

In the new woke hard-core black supremacist version of the show, John Stewart's father was considered for the ring before Hal Jordan, but was rejected from the program. They showed him something scary and asked "Are you afraid?" He answered "Yes," and they moved on to the next candidate (Hal Jordan), because it is critical that a Lantern be fearless.

Later, the people who give out the rings, the Guardians, paid a visit to the Stewart family to make sure they were doing okay. John Stewart's mother launched into a Proud Black Woman lecture -- everyone take heed, a Black Woman is speaking and we are listening. She said to the intergalactic super-being, "How dare you ask a black man if he is afraid," because black people are permanently terrified in America, and then asserted, without contradiction, that Hal Jordan, having "white privilege," would of course not be afraid of anything so the whole game was rigged, as usual, against The Black Man.

The writers and show-runners confirmed that this was supposed to be an accurate statement about race in America. They say the want to "start conversations," but if you tell them this is nasty racialist propaganda, they'll cancel you for your racism.

Damon Lindeloff has previously shown he has some kind of gay black cuck fetish, and again shows that here. He makes a point to show John Stewart having sex with the wife of a literal white supremacist leader. And then, bizarrely, the white supremacist leader strips off his clothes and demands that John Stewart -- here an artist instead of an architect -- draw him and his naked dong. Just like the "dram me like your French girls" scene from Titanic, except gay and weird.

Oh, and the show also includes a "surprising amount of naked penises." No boobs, just dicks. Showing naked women is exploitative and low-brow, showing naked dicks every half-hour is Elevated and Artistic.

Oh, and in this version of the story, John Stewart is not a colleague of Hal Jordan, but his Superior Replacement -- let's not be subtle about this, let's make it clear that black men are superior in every way-- and John Stewart beats the crap out of the man formerly considered the greatest Green Lantern in history and takes his ring from him.

Oh, and in the first episode, Hal Jordan is shown to be dead and murdered later in the season. White erasure, I think they would call it.

Sorry to bore you but that background is needed for this next story: the incoming regime is reportedly having "crisis" meetings to deal with the backlash over this toxic race grifting propaganda, as well as their decision to cast black actors to replace white actors in their unnecessary Harry Potter cash-grab retelling.

Paramount is holding internal meetings about the growing backlash to HBO's shows, sources tell Cosmic Book News.
"I heard 'meetings' are taking place to address the growing backlash to the shows," a source said. "They've spent ungodly amounts of money on Harry Potter and they plan to spend much more to promote it."
The shows drawing the fire: Lanterns, HBO's Harry Potter, House of the Dragon, and now The People v. Gorilla Grodd.
Paramount is in the middle of closing its $111 billion purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery, the deal that hands the Ellisons HBO and HBO Max.
"Keep it in mind when you see bots swarming your posts and everyone else dunking on HBO slop," the source said, referring to the bot accounts that swarm Cosmic Book News' own posts and social media whenever these shows come up. "The growing backlash to Lanterns, Potter, House of Dragon, and now Grodd got them worried."
Some of that backlash still shows up as viewership. People tune in to see the trainwreck.
The source says the studio knows that kind of watching doesn't pay.
"Negative engagement might pad the ratings a bit but wrecks ancillary income channels," the source said. "Hate watching does not translate into merch sales, DVD sales, book sales, etc."

"One thing many are missing: HBO is supposed to be 'appointment television, the home of The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, etc.,'" the source continued. "Having Grodd and Lantern Dicks be the new face of HBO is irking a lot of people."
That's the network that just greenlit a mockumentary where Jimmy Tatro plays Gorilla Grodd in a practical gorilla suit.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone premieres this Christmas on HBO. Asked what the studio can do about the show at this point, the source said the window has closed.
"Potter season 1 is done or very close to done," the source said. "Nothing they can do except hype up the good elements and ignore the bad casting choices."

You may remember a story from a couple of weeks ago: Comic Boon News reported, accurately, that Hal Jordan was shown dead with a bullet wound in his head in the first episode, and HBO filed a false copyright claim to suppress the story. They claimed they had a copyright over someone repeating a plot point from the show.

Meanwhile, there's a Wolverine videogame that's about to be released, and yes, it is lame and gay.

It's lame because it's not really a game. There are parts of the game that are supposed to be "Quick Time Events," a game mechanic which is ancient and considered lame already, but it's lamer still here, because the game will not let you fail these quick-time events. If you fail to push the buttons the game tells you to push, it just pushes them for you.

It's one of those "Push W to win" games, people say -- if you just hold down the "W" button to walk forward, you automatically win, because the "game" is mostly just a movie made with CGI that you watch rather than play.

And it's gay because the game's creators have decided that Wolverine's deadliest and most brutal foe, Sabertooth, is in some kind of gay chaste romance with him.

They "yearn" for each other's touch.

Sure, Sabertooth has been trying to murder Wolverine for 50 years, but beneath that, there is a tender longing and suppressed homosexual love.

The Washington Post's Marvel's Wolverine review landed at three stars, but the part getting passed around isn't the score. It's Sabretooth.
Reviewer Gene Park describes a scene during an assault on a military base where Sabretooth grabs the back of Logan's head, and Park reads the moment as longing, not menace.
Insomniac says that's exactly what it is.

Narrative director Walt Williams told the Post the beat is written that way on purpose.

Logan feels the pull, gets scared, and backs off. Sabretooth feels the same pull, it hurts him, and he lashes out to push that hurt onto Logan.
"Hate and love are so hand in hand," Williams said.
He framed the rivalry as a loop: each one wounds the other, and the shared pain is what keeps them bound together.
Williams is the writer behind Spec Ops: The Line, the 2012 shooter that doubled as a psychological thriller.
Park's takeaway is that Insomniac left room for love inside Logan's most violent relationship.

By the way, the studio that produced this employed the services of Woke Compliance Officers "Sweet Baby Inc.," who have inserted gayness and Muh Representation into dozens of games, most of which subsequently failed. I don't know if this is their handiwork, but even if it is, it is Insomniac studios who implemented it and now proudly boast of it.

I always mention it but for those who missed it -the last great thing was "Stargirl" available on Amazon Prime. Three seasons - 13 episodes.

Brec was about 20 but played a pretty teenager perfectly. Her stepdad was her sidekick AND MENTOR. Yeah, the girl actually needed the guy. Fun show with Solomon Grundy AND a big giant robot.

Brec had a picture on Instagram. She's only 5'2" but she would have made a nice 'Supergirl' too.

48 James Gunn always doesn't know where the vulgar line is. If you've ever watched a Peacemaker episode, that becomes clear. He's the type of man that needs a director or editor disallowing shots, maybe like the old comics code board.

He can write and direct compelling stories, when someone else stops him from his worst impulses.

As for Green Lantern, I'm 3 episodes in...and really, all the characters are made to be generally unlikeable as they work on saving the Earth. The "nicest Mary Sue" characters in the 1st 3 episodes are probably the female sheriff and her lawyer husband (followed by John Stewart's brothers, but they have a lesser role).

So, while it's somehat anti-white, those folks are actually white and semi-redeeming.

I think the more compelling story is that he took the standard that it's the Stewart parents who had this dream for Jon to be Green Lantern b/c their dad failed. There is something compelling at watching parents be horrible to their kid in order for him to achieve their dream...and maybe his?

That's the compelling part of the backstory.

Plus, bonus, the lead character has a girl's name. King Richard becomes King Dick, and King "John" hangs out in the outhouse looking to show his dominance by railing some poor mail peasant.

Harry Potter is 1) fantasy and 2) after my time so 3) I am out of the loop on it…but…from my understanding the TV show had the potential to be even more book accurate than the movies. Hence their getting made. Note: I said HAD the potential. The castung choices are a warning of what else may have been changed, with Miss Rowling’s consent as I believe she is involved with the show.

I watched the spinoff of Foyle's War on PBS a new nights ago. The original show had Honeysuckle Weeks (yes, that's her name) and she was fairly hawt. However, the new show has her about 20 years older, and to put it mildly, the years have not been kind. She's got no discernible figure, and believe me, I've looked.

Is the wolverine game actually bad?

girlfriend and I played for 6 hours. We are huge X-Men fans and we had a ton of fun tbh. I think if you like X-Men and understand that it's an alternate universe you too will enjoy it because at the end of the day, you are a cool guy with claws dismembering bigots. The floor is 7/10.

None of the complaints seem tinted wtih culture anything. The complaints seem to be focused on weak storytelling, a too linear game, and too much hand holding. the clips I've seen have backed this up. Watch the Skill Up review if you want, he's not really one for culture war stuff.

HBO did put out a Deadwood movie a decade or so ago that did end the series a little better than a never resolved plot-line in the last season.
I enjoyed it.

Rome has gotten no such treatment.

Cancelling those two shows was kind of stupid considering the kind of crap that runs for several seasons these days.

I'll tell you a secret direct from the House floor in the 80's, a lot of members have no idea what they are voting on and floor staff tells them what leadership wants to them to vote. This has been going on decades if not longer and the Senate had ga ga 80 and 90 years back then too that had to be staffers run their office.

Not too long ago before Lady Lindsay, Strom Thurmond lived in a special suite at Walter Reed Hospital and was wheeled in when needed for a vote and then promptly wheeled back out and transported back to the hospital.

And not to put too fine a point in it, there is no way that 2/3rds of each house will vote for term limits. A convention of the states can be held by 2/3rds vote but any amendment from that still has to pass 3/4 of state legislators, many of which dream of a job until death in Congress.

By way of example, the final season of Umbrella Academy, while not the strongest writing anyway, was completely enshittified by a continuous self-insert of Ellen Page's character going tranny and reminding the audience over and over and over. By way of example, the final season of Umbrella Academy, while not the strongest writing anyway, was completely enshittified by a continuous self-insert of Ellen Page's character going tranny and reminding the audience over and over and over. It made no sense for the character and nothing to do with any part of the story at all.

The first season of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (starring Frodo Baggins) was a quirky time-travel mystery show.

Then the second season came along, expanding the bizarre worldbuilding of the first season, but also introducing a gay Romeo and Julio subplot that didn't belong in the story at all. Just because the showrunners could.

The third season was abandoned, I guess, though they did set up a third season in the second season finale.

It might be, haven’t watched it in 40 years or so.
It did not impress schoolboy me.

It’s rarely been on TV or streaming that I’ve seen, and I’m not buying it to watch it to see if it got any better with my age.

222 There's a weird pseudo-cultural dynamic beginning to solidify.

The nominal "culture" is 100% fake and gay and does nothing for anybody. But little subcultures are springing up that thrive on either shilling for it or getting rageclicks over it.

People will eventually (if not already) stand to earn more as a career path by joining the meta-culture, and at some point the inversion will become incontrovertible and the meta-culture will become the true culture. "Shows" and "Movies" will only exist as intentional grist for the babble mills. No one will derive any amusement from the crap itself, only from watching their favorite face reacting to the crap, positively or negatively.

There's slash fiction for EVERYTHING.

In Supernatural, there's a subplot where the main characters Sam and Dean (who are brothers) discover someone's writing books about their adventures.

Then Sam discovers "slash fiction" about the Winchesters from the books.

Both Sam and Dean are quite squicked out about that ("They do know we're brothers, right?" Dean asks. "I don't think that matters," Sam replies.)

229 Stopped watching "Lanterns" after episode #3 which was the most racist/offensive thing I have ever seen on TV or otherwise.

I collected the Silver Age Green Lantern comic book series when I was younger up until the early 2000s...still have them all including the first appearance of Hal Jordan in DC's "Showcase" comic book published in 1959.

So I'm pretty sure I can say with authority on the subject that this is the absolute WORST (and most offensive) adaptation of a given superhero EVER!

For anyone who is interested on how to do good superhero TV, definitely check out any of the shows from the animated DC universe that started with the Batman Animated series in the early 1990s and concluded in the mid-2000s with the excellent Justice League animated show. I'd put those shows up against any of the best TV produced (live or animated) of any era.

They were the perfect blend of entertainment for both young and older audiences with very well-written stories, excellent characterization, and terrific voice work and scoring. They clearly had folks behind them that knew the genre and how to make it both fun and serious enough for all to enjoy, with no wokeness in sight.

230 Once upon a time, I aspired to be the next John Byrne. However, both a lack of speed (and more importantly my salvation) turned me away from that career path. Looking at what has become of those Marvel characters in the intervening years has made me happy about my decision.

I have been following Mr Byrne and his Elsewhen project, though. As far as I'm concerned, that is canon. Sabertooth is Wolverine's dad, and he doesn't have bone claws. Period.
