Nvidia has stopped selling its own "Founders Edition" RTX 5090. (Tom's Hardware)

You can still buy third-party models - but they cost as much as $9500.

The MSRP is still $2000.
They have, helpfully, announced the RTX PRO 5500, which is a 5090 with the memory bus cut down from 512 bits to 448. (Tom's Hardware)

And two banks of 3GB memory chips for a total of 84GB of VRAM.

Priced at $NaN.

So-called "Clickfix" attacks are when the hackers get lazy and convince users to hack themselves, by offering links to download and install software using the obviously broken approaches offered by an increasing number of companies who probably know better but don't care better.

At least in this case the hackers went to the effort of hacking the official HBO Max account on Reddit so they could spread official-looking posts containing the links that would let you hack yourself.

Today: An enterprise-level DNS server, faster Markdown rendering, skip lists in the database so it can quickly jump to the 3000th page of a listing, and a building a better 3270.

Markdown using an optimised Rust library is about four times faster than in the language itself, which is less than expected but indicates that the language is faster than expected.

I'm old and tired. Have a technical degree, so most likely wouldn't be picked for a jury, as lawyers don't like folks like me on juries, even if I AM brown-skinned...
And I would stand my ground with reason and logic. Wouldn't matter to lying bitches and soyboys; they'll obfuscate about it to the press.

I appreciate that--I didn't know that procedure.

I have manually applied the youtube shortener before--which gives the same result you're describing--and a cob asked for a tinyurl instead.I think sometimes one of them shorter and sometimes the other one is shorter.

22 I can see it now...I get on this kind of jury, they dig up the fact the police came to my place multiple times, I've had Restraining orders against me and my wife from my own mother (all temporary and thrown out by the court when the hearings took place)...they dig deeper into medical records protected by HIPAA...
No context, only aspersions. That's the way the modern media works, and I'd sue right away and look for help in doing so from a number of organizations that help folks with stuff like this.

Those charges against the black juror...they were dropped, right? They were related to a divorce, right?

I assume they're selling it as marketing data.

Tinyurl has referral deals with some companies, too.
I noticed that when you run a NYPost link through tinyurl, the short link will run through a redirect for tinyurl to make money off of a referral link, which Ghostery blocks and you have to click to proceed or I'd have never known about it.

The deal must've ended though because the last time I ran a NYPost URL the referral redirect didn't happen.

The URL shorteners have to make money somehow, I guess.

Weird dreams last night. I was going on a marathon walk through a chain of canyons in the West, but it was going to rain and I needed a jacket and hat. So I detoured all the way home to my mother's place. Apparently I expected to find her sitting in a posh railroad dining car, the third booth from the back, but she wasn't there; and the maitre d' said there was no record of her in that space.

The rest is lost to history. Later I was in a gigantic grocery store on a Saturday morning, trying to get money out of an ATM, but it was "unable to dispense cash right now." That at least happens to me in waking life pretty often.

So, whassup?

Auto owner's manuals, at least for GM cars, have been spelling it "gage" for a long time. My '89 Oldsmobile Cutlass had "gage" in the book. I don't recall if my Mercedes or BMW manuals did, but the Park Avenue, Regal, and now the LaCrosse all had or have it. Grrrr.

80 A building on Dauphine St. in the French Quarter has had a partial collapse. I don't recall the specific building -- so many of them look alike. When I was a kid, Mom would walk us back from Canal St. shopping along Burgundy for two blocks, then cut over to Dauphine for four blocks before coming back to Bourbon, where we lived. I guess she didn't want us seeing the ads for the strippers on Bourbon. Why she skipped Burgundy, I don't know; perhaps it had a rep as being occupied by scruffy people.

"guage" is very close to the word in Mexico for a certain type of tree, the guaje...my folks actually had one. grew to a pretty good size. Seeds grow in pods up to about a foot long...

I fiddled with the old API back in the beginnings, when you could download it and build your own Twitter app if you had even basic programming chops. It was not difficult at all, and the TOS were quite permissive.

That changed years ago. Thus I have to wonder if services like xcancel were acting within the current TOS, which would be a legal issue if they aren't. Yes, it kinda sucks, but I can see where it may come from.
