Lindsay Clancy attorney Kevin Reddington making an appeal to Trump: "Mr. President, I would hope that you would consider, this young lady, the type of person she is, what she's been through, and consider a pardon."

Does that mean he's stupid? No, just evil. He knows Trump can't pardon his psychopath child-killer client. He's just trying to expand Lindsay Clancy's Cult of Murder so that the prosecutors feel pressured to drop the case or give her a sweetheart deal.

I missed this on Friday. Maybe you did too.

After the judge said he might declare a mistrial, he suspended the trial so that the insane defense attorney could appeal his ruling to not exclude one juror for being sane to the Massachusetts Supreme Court.

But that appeal was denied -- thank goodness -- and then he declared a mistrial.

Which the Pink Ladies on the jury -- ChristyBinky tells me that several of the women were wearing pink on the jury, which is the color Lindsay Clancy's supporters outside the courtroom were wearing -- were enraged by.

How the hell were they ever allowed on the jury, or allowed to remain on the jury?

Female jurors in the Lindsay Clancy trial were described as seething with rage as the judge declared a mistrial.

This was the emergency appeal -- a claim that the lone male holdout was "biased" against the "disabled" because he wouldn't allow a triple-child-murderess walk free:

Jonathan Turley writes that the unethical defense lawyer put a target on the lone male holdout's back.

"I hope that guy can sleep well at night."
Those words from Kevin Reddington on the steps of the Plymouth, Massachusetts Courthouse were part of a diatribe against the "guy" who was reportedly the sole holdout in the Lindsay Clancy trial. The scene was a fitting end to a visceral trial, but it added a vindictive element that should prompt Judge William Sullivan to call out the seasoned defense attorney.
After declaring that the 11-1 mistrial was "no time to gloat," Reddington bragged repeatedly about "crushing" District Attorney Tim Cruz, whom he also attacked. He insisted that, in the trial, no one said a single negative thing about his client as a mother -- ignoring that little matter of the three young children whom she had strangled to death, one by one.
But it was his attack on the holdout juror that was a breathtaking abandonment of restraint and decency. Reddington knows it is very likely that the name of this juror (he has already been identified as one of only three males on the jury) will eventually be uncovered by Internet sleuths. He effectively put a target on the back of a juror who committed the unpardonable sin of not being convinced by his arguments.
The fact that this is one of the three male jurors only ramped up the rage. This case prompted a striking gender divide between men and women, with many women expressing sympathy for Clancy and anger at the system for failing her.
For Reddington and many viewers, the hung jury was less "Twelve Angry Men" and more like "One Angry Man." Indeed, in addition to attacking the juror, women outside of the courthouse heckled Cruz as he tried to speak to the press, shouting that he "only cares about the three children. What about the Mom?"

His appeal to the Massachusetts Supreme Court accused the lone male holdout of harboring a "bias" against mentally ill child-murderers.

Earlier in the day, Reddington had asked a Massachusetts Supreme Court justice for an emergency order to force Sullivan not to declare a mistrial, and instead to remove the holdout in favor of an alternate. It was an utterly meritless effort, but Reddington used the filing to further denounce the juror. He compared the juror's refusal to vote for his client as akin to leaving a racist on a jury. In this case, he suggested that the "guy" was a virtual anti-disability version of "Bull" Connor or some deranged "ableist."

Now he says he didn't intend to get this guy murdered, and in fact would defend his right to hold out.

Based on this, I think I can see what happened in the jury room: At least two of the female jurors were essentially crazed fans of the child-murderer. They probably harrangued the hold-outs (it is speculated that there had been more jurors for conviction, but they buckled and gave in to crazed peer pressure).

I can imagine these two harpies coming at this guy with full Social Justice Warrior spittle-spraying fury, and they guy trying to calm them down, saying something like "I can understand why you have doubts," and then them seizing, autistically, on that one "admission," and pestering the judge telling him "this (spit) man admitted there is room for doubt but he won't vote with us to acquit!"

The penalty for infanticide is a maximum of five years imprisonment. There is no minimum penalty.

Yes, the prosecution lost the case with their own witnesses in their main case presentation. None of their witnesses believed the defendent was anything but a great woman, mother, and member of society.

It's an unwinnable case for a prosecution now.

As they often say, bad cases make bad laws. Bad cases apparently also make bad public discourse. No one can really discuss any of the issues about this case without litmus testing everything. And almost no one has actually read the court case testimony in full (which makes the discussion worse), but we are ready and willing to demonize the jurors both ways.

Almost exactly my thought. You are free to change your mind in deliberations. Per "12 Angry Men," saying at the outset that you have NO reasonable doubt is a position that can change. The opposite must therefore be true. After 36 hours of enduring these harpies' consideration of "evidence," some of it possibly not being introduced at trial since the jury wasn't sequestered, I could see my previously voiced reasonable doubt being wrenched 180 degrees, as would be my right.

There is often no rhyme or reason as to why any event blows up into a huge story. As I said above, about 500 kids are murdered by their parents every year. So it's not a unique event.

But I think what propelled the Clancy murders into the forefront of news was:

1. Reasonably attractive, middle-class white family. Had Shaniqua in the ghetto or Bobbi Jo in the trailer park done the same thing, we most likely wouldn't have heard about it.

2. The case was relentlessly pushed on social media, on both sides of the case. It was like a cottage industry all by itself.

3. Related to #2, the biggest story about the trial became not the trial itself, but people's reactions to the trial, and what it said about them.

As an expert opinion, it wouldn't be. But the basis of his lawsuit are allegations that the doctors fucked up and that led to his wife killing his kids.

Him testifying at her trial that it wasn't her fault is consistent with those allegations. It would be harder to prove those allegations if he's on record saying he thought she was fine.

I don't. I don't think the prosecution will ever get a conviction. He must know that. 11-1 to acquit isn't just one or two unreasonable lunatics that might not be on the jury in the retrial. 11-1 to acquit is a function of a big flaw in the prosecution's case or trial strategy. I proposed a theory above as to why the case was doomed.

I think there will be some kind of plea deal.

302 I looked into this all yesterday because someone told me that she told three doctors that she might harm the kids. It wasn't true. She told one doctor, her mom and the husband that she was afraid she might have thoughts about harming her kids and herself. She never actually said that she had thoughts like that. She seems to have thought she was a failure because she wasn't the mother she thought she should be. Very rigid personality.

I think that is the best path forward. I don't think she'll ever leave the state mental hospital. She isn't thriving there - even after being there 3+ years. (not defending or excusing her in any way, just repeating what I read). Not eating the food, not keeping up with personal hygiene. She's on a 1:1 suicide watch.

I went to the in-laws. They were making chicken and I wanted burgers. I brought a ten pack of patties, cheese, and buns because I'm considerate. My wife didn't approve of the cheese I bought, so I bought another kind of cheese.

When it came time to make the burgers, I polled the crowd to see how many patties I needed to cook. I made exactly that number. Then when I told the crowd the burgers were ready, suddenly more people wanted burgers. I had to turn away some people and felt like a dick. I did let them know there were more patties, but they'd have to cook their own.

I know I could have cooked all the patties, but I didn't sign up for that. I just wanted my own burger. I feel like I went above and beyond by bringing and making extra.

Usually retrials work to the defendant's advantage due to seeing the complete prosecution case. This one was a bit weird as Clancy used an affirmative defense that she was mentally ill at the time. And apparently it damn near worked.

So a retrial where she gets scrutinized by the prosecution in every little detail may go worse for her with a new jury. I also expect some pointed prosecution questions for prospective jurors that exclude those that are fascinated by real crime and/or idiotic feminist takes on child murder.

The prosecution also knows all of Reddington's tricks this time and are likely to counteract them.
