The Morning Rant

punk-monkey.jpg

Oh good! Another plan to pass voter ID laws! This time it's going to work! Really...promise! Just send $25 to the RNC to keep the Republican Party fighting against the Democrats!

The problem is glaringly obvious, and one that the corporate wing of the GOP is unwilling to admit...because it is part of the problem.

The fight isn't against the Democrats. The fight is against the anti-Trump, pro-business faction within the Republican party that is perfectly content to continue on the current road to ruin by allowing farcically corrupt elections in America. As long as our elections keep electing pro-illegal-immigrant Democrats (and Republicans) the Chamber of Commerce money will continue to flow, the Bourbon and lobster will continue at the best cocktail parties, and America will keep sliding into third-world hell. But that's fine with them, because all of that sweet cheap illegal labor will be available to their big donors!

Inside House Republicans' plan to end run Dem opposition and pass Trump-backed voter ID

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is now pushing Republicans to pass the bill's main mandates via the budget reconciliation process, which allows the party in power to pass sweeping fiscal policy without input from the minority due to its sidelining of the Senate filibuster. Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, is tasked with overseeing how that part of the bill gets done.

"I'd rather pass the SAVE America Act. But recognizing that the Senate might not be able to get that done with the 60-vote threshold, let's leverage the parliamentary procedure, bring that threshold down to 50, and get some really commonsense reforms done," Steil told Fox News Digital in an interview. "I've been having great conversations with my colleagues in the administration as well as the Senate."

Thune and the other corporatist whores are the problem, and they are embedded into the Republican Party far too deeply for them to be sidelined by a procedural play. That they are rejecting a bill that has the support of the vast majority of Americans is shocking in and of itself, but the fact that they are unrepentant makes it worse. They are pissing on us and gleefully telling us that it is raining!

What can be done about this? Obviously Thune and anyone who supports him must go. At the very least, he must be challenged for Majority Leader. Senator Rick Scott has already announced that he has not committed to voting for Thune again, so there are cracks in the collegiality of the Senate. And that's a good start, but an aggressive campaign against Thune is overdue. Perhaps President Trump should announce that if Thune doesn't support voting security that he will actively campaign against him in 2028. Marginalize him, mock him, ridicule him for subverting the will of the American people...but do not allow the status quo to continue. This is too important to be held up by a corporate hack in a nice suit, and that's all Thune is!

The Parliamentarian will say that it isn't budgetary, the Senators won't overrule, Thune won't put it back sneakily, and - if Vance goes to the Senate and personally overrules the Parliamentarian, the GOP Senators will vote no because harrumph.

I think a fair number of GOP cheat too. They hire the Dem cheat machine in primaries to use against their more conservative opponents. Mitch, Thune, Kemp, Murcow, etc. all come from states with past histories of voter fraud and I think it is clear that AZ is also one of those states due to McCain etc.

That is why they oppose with every fiber any reeling in cheating in elections. That supposedly red states do nothing is a sign that is not just Dems cheating.

So let me get this straight
- We need illegals to work cheap
- We need them on welfare to shore up local economies
- We need them to pay into SSI and Medicare

That's 3 lies. All contradictory as they don't work, they destroy local economies through crime and dependency, and they will become wards (as will their relatives brought in)

So who benefits? Gov. workers (schools, social services,...) and Big Retail (Amazon, Walmart, ....) and corrupt politicians.

Let’s get this straight, sanctuary states are terrified they will lose federal funds because hundreds of thousands of illegals and noncitizens might remove themselves from American welfare programs.

This is the ideological contortion required by left-wing leaders to justify their defrauding of the American taxpayer at the hands of illegal criminals.

DHS has heard for months that illegal aliens weren’t using these very same welfare programs. So, which is it?

In my town there has been a lot of development lately, mainly in the form of apartments and condos. Ask 100 random people are they happy with this and 80-90 will say fuck no it’s destroying the character of the area.

So of course the citizens rush out to support candidates on city council who want to end it right? Nope. City council is populated exclusively by pro-growth types bought and paid for by the real estate industry. And they get re elected every 2 years like clock work with healthy margins.

49 "the anti-Trump, pro-business faction within the Republican party" unfortunately isn't the only problem (and of course we're leaving aside the insane destructive Dems entirely).

The day the "big beautiful bill" was passed, at a rally in Iowa, Trump alluded to hospitality and agriculture needing help or protection, when discussing illegal migration. Pretty much silence from the crowd, who might have been as stunned as they were dismayed. If the father of actual renewed immigration enforcement is a Chamber of Commerce squish on an enormous part of the problem ..... well.

HR9535 last I saw had over 50 co-sponsors, almost all GOP. "Securing Agriculture's Workforce Act". Which contains amnesty and (fairly brazen) wage suppression measures. Key point here is that even today, in 2026, the incumbent GOP feels comfortable pushing amnesty. Of course Johnson would never bring this to a vote - the fear would kick in there. But still.

One election away from a return to the catastrophe of 2021-2024.

Post Office already takes photos of every piece of mail on the outside and tracks it. GWOT practice after the anthrax by mail attacks and authorized by law.

I think it is also 50/50 whether Trump declares a national emergency over foreign tampering with elections. Lot of things going on behind the scenes with Venezuelan sources and Smartmatic, Dominion, etc.

Trump tried to get Congress to pass statutes, had the rulemaking by the USPS, and all of it thwarted by people determined to keep cheating in elections--the left because they will lose power for a generation without it, GOPe because most of them will get ousted in primaries in fair elections.

That is why a GOPe governor in Wyoming opposed election security measures. It is so Democrats in GOP clothing can win office in red states. Never the opposite.

To understand Georgia, remember that Kemp was SoS before becoming governor and won against Stacey Abrams in 2018 in a close race. Stacey was distributing gift cards to buy votes and the urban cheat machines in Savannah, Columbus, and Fulton were in full swing. After Kemp won, there was a lawsuit by Abrams over the election, Kemp ordered the election server data wiped and the first thing he did as governor was to sign a massive wopping big deal with Dominion to provide new machines to settle the lawsuit started by Abrams. These were used in 2020.

Ratshitburger got elected first to a State House seat in N. Fulton and was openly soliciting Chinese money and votes up there. He went from there to barely winning the SoS office. He won reelection in the primary by using Dem votes in 2022 to offset a strong primary challenge.

Georgia has a long history of voter fraud and even open auctioning of vote buyers at the county seat in some places. Also see Turning Point by Jimmay Carter regarding his being cheated.

Yea. There are a lot of 80-20 issues in our favor, but few of them are so material that our side will die on that hill or even change their voting.

But the 20% for their side? They'll die on that hill. They'll murder their 3 kids and then commit suicide on that hill. That hill is the only thing that matters in their lives, and without that hill they'll die anyway.

It's not so much the split of an issue, but how strongly you feel about your side of the split.

Further, I've really held back with the broader R federal donations this year. There's already plenty of $, play & walking around money, and those in Congress now need to get off their high horses and represent their real constituents.

Trump, out of office in months and campaigning against John Curtis in UT to get rid of him because he became the face of "tank election integrity" in the next Congress? The reason the Central American dictatorships were so completely insane in the 60's is that their funding and support in no way came from within their own country, and in no way required any accountability for any action or policy. If you have been following election law, then you should know that Trump has already triggered one dealing with foreign interference but he changed the standard language on the proclamation of a national emergency.

Proclamations are different than executive orders because they trigger statutory and constitutional power, not just constitutional power, that can reach outside of the executive branch. Including criminal charges, so that is why all of the election officials have been warned in a public proclamation and individually via communications that allowing illegal voters to vote in their state is a criminal offense and that includes enabling them by doing nothing to prevent it.

Not when he has a majority of 53 and that majority includes Murkowski (Democrat), Mitch (hates us), Ernst (tried to tank Hegseth and failed miserably and is probably bitter about it), Tillis (Democrat), Cassidy (Democrat), and Cornyn (Democrat).

All of those except Murkowski are gone next Congress no matter what, and even if Democrats have a good night and net a Senate seat, the GOP majority in the chamber will actually be far stronger.

Election cheating is primarily a Democrat phenomenon and urban. In the distant past, both the GOP and the Democrats rivaled each other prior to about 1900 or so on both rural and urban cheating. As the US became more urban, the cheating declined after progressive movements of voter registration, literacy tests, cumulative poll taxes, the secret ballot, and other provisions including virtual disenfranchisement of most of the Southern population. We had a period of GOP dominance that ended with the Great Depression, then Democrat dominance until the 90's. Then the Uniparty was born--basically to commit treason and sell the country out to its enemies. Clinton and China and Saudis, Bushes-China and Saudis, and Obama to Islam itself. Trump upset that move and it was popular, so the cheat machines were revved to eleventy in 2020 and after.

My guess is most of the others (except the lone wolf) didn't care as much and saw that the jury would never reach a verdict, so they took the easy road.

Unpleasant ones. Like Heinlein's in Starship Troopers. Both officeholders and voters were required to have served (including non military like science, etc. as conscripts) before being able to hold office and to be voters.

Founders used property as a proxy.

Basically every unlimited franchise government tries to end up voting themselves the treasury and politicians get voted in on gimmedats and grab a big chunk of money for themselves.

Veterans, as Heinlein mused, are also human and you will get failures, corruption, etc. But by using some sort of limit on who holds office and can vote, it self selects for those that have expressed some willingness to sacrifice personal safety and wealth for the public.

Property qualification means that the person is more rooted in making sure that property rights are respected and that they are working and screening out gimmedats.

There is no perfect solution but universal suffrage is a disaster waiting to happen.

The Media looooves a political front-runner. They'll give that horse nothing but praise and present it as the inevitable winner. Think Obama, for one example. The only way the DNC can derail that Media train is to force the frontrunner and others to drop out, pretty early. Think Bernie, in '16 and '20.

Democrats have to win to paper over their internal issues. Patronage is a powerful adhesive.

If the GOP hadn't won in 2016, I suspect there might have been an effort at some kind of party split.

Democrats may be in a similar state (but without the same populist appeal, its "populism" being downwardly mobile children of elites who hate their dads). Also, I'm not equating Kamala with Trump, they're obviously very different beasts (Kamala represents one major faction while Trump was purely an outsider).

Posted by: Common Tater at September 15, 2026 12:06 PM (ugvYV)

It's the first step in an op. Reduce prison and jail population in the name of compassion and anti-racism. Begin closing or physically downsizing prisons and jails. Tell the voters you are saving them money. And you can save them even more by continuing to be compassionate and anti-racism! If/when law and order politicians replace you, drag them into courts to stop their incarceration increase by claiming it will bring inhuman crowding in the available prison space! Then you campaign as a law and order Democrat who will build new prisons. Renege on that campaign pledge if/when you are elected.

249 240 Biden got about 8 million votes from voters who didn’t exist. We squelched that in 2024, although the Demonrats still tried to cheat, and did, a little. As long as we keep up our efforts to keep the election clean, Harris can’t win against any half decent Republican nominee.

False.

Democrats just decided to lose on purpose and can ramp up the cheat to infinity levels no matter what.

They did this because they don't want to be found out. No one figured out what they did in 2020.

Eh, you have to get congress critters to do it. Like Term limits or other matters, in practical terms, it will take a constitutional amendment which we are no longer capable of passing, let alone ratifying.

I agree but that is old thinking. New thinking is to change the design, sometimes radically and controversially, so that very rich people can have something different in their garage than their neighbor on Dune Road.

It's also why options and customization of these cars is often 50% or more of the base price.

Every thing. America doesn't even make Aspirin any longer. Never mind critical medicines and pharmaceuticals. Not even the precursor chemicals to make same. Could go on all day on this kind of shit. As someone that worked on the floor of the US House for a time, this has been a problem for a long time. I remember Senate workers who were friends that ancient Senators would be gaga at their desk and literally drooling and yet still allowed to vote. House has its proxy system of voting that protects people like Kay Grainger who was in memory care.

And Scotus had Ruth Bader Ginsburg who had not been seen in months somehow voting and participating in court decisions with Robert's blessing. And we had Joe Biden who was out of it right from the get go in his presidency.

We have broader issues--a) the Uniparty, b) the vast sums that cause our elected officials to become offensively wealthy by virtue of holding office, c) the gimmedats whether corporate or welfare, and d) our erstwhile allies that are welfare queens and interfering ones at that.
