33 That's a very beautiful painting. I double-checked. It really is.

Art -related news from the BBC too.

Police are still searching for two suspects after millions of pounds worth of Renoir paintings were stolen from a museum on the French Riviera.

Here's what we know so far:

Shortly before 06:00 local time on Tuesday, thieves broke into the Renoir museum and stole four paintings, before abandoning two in the museum gardens as they fled
They were armed with a "knife and a hacksaw", and entered the museum grounds by cutting a hole through the fence, according to local mayor Bryan Masson

The sound of police sirens and the museum's alarms caused the thieves to rush from the scene

Police have cordoned off what appears to be the entry point to the heist

The two paintings that remain missing are: The portrait of Madame Colonna Romano (1910), and Jeune femme au puits (1886)

96 This is, to my eye, a typical William-Adolphe Bouguereau painting and that is high praise. The emotional intent is clear, the details of the persons (and lamb in this case) are natural and realistic while just a bit idealized. The skin tones are lovely. Think of this one in a nursery.

CBD,

204 The problem with 'French academy' approved painters at that time and actually most professional painters since before that is they were all taught the same techniques thus their paintings are all similar though some painters stand out with their skill.

Today we have a lot of good art but the reason we also have a lot of bad art is because artists want to stand out and separate themselves from everyone else. They want people to look at their paintings and say ' that painting has to be by X '

Storms in the area too, which is evident in the video. A strong inflow gust could have caused the delayed touchdown by floating the plane further down the runway. Or, it just came in too fast. Either way, the pilots botched the recovery.

Sure, run with that.

Or maybe the apparent fact that the aircraft crossed the numbers at around Vref+35 based upon ADS-B data instead of right at Vref caused the forever float.

(You want to be at Vref+10 on the approach, Vref crossing over the runway numbers and Vref -10 in the round out).
