I kept trying alternatives, building proofs of concept, and throwing them away, convinced that if I could just find the right combination, lightning would strike and my creativity would be unlocked again.

And... I was right. Took me one day to get my blog working on the new programming language and the new database that I spent that long detour building.

Cook until clear: 3 tbsp granulated tapioca (can blend normal tapioca); 2 cups water; 1 tsp butter.

Cook until smooth and thick: 4 oz dried figs; 1 cup water; 1 cup sugar.

Yes, Fig Newtons are still available, as well as a variety of other Newtons.

I generally liked Fig Newtons as a kid, but the ratio of fig:breading was always too low.

The fruit versions are because if you’re going to provide too little filling, it might as well be flavorless, too.

45 Wiki says "Newtons," the current name (because they have other fruit varieties), were first sold by the Kennedy Biscuit company and named for Newton, MA. Nabisco inherited the recipe in 1898 when they were created by merger with the New York Biscuit Company, which had bought Kennedy a while before that.

To me, a raspberry or strawberry Newton sounds appealing in a way a Fig Newton doesn't.

From what I gather, the "Deadpool" character is a Marvel-universe superhero with a sarcastic turn in his dialog -- refreshing nowadays, when so many movie and TV characters (and the films or shows they are in) are thuddingly serious and grim.

57 Deadpool is a superhero/villain (it’s hard to tell sometimes) character in Marvel comics who basically cannot be killed because he underwent the same type of medical experiment procedure that Wolverine did.

He has a wicked sense of humor and is basically insane, literally, because of the effects of the experiment.

So people liked the comics because they are funny, crazy, and violent with Deadpool talking to the reader by breaking through the fourth wall amd going on extended diatribes.

The movies follow a similar template and are auite funny at times, though it’s always teenaged boy type humor.

Must’ve only watched it once, or pieces of it, and wasn’t impressed.

Ryan Reynolds also played Green Lantern in the movie version that came out about a decade or so ago.

He mainly plays in action comedies or comedies which he is suited for.

Hollywood got invaded by Canadians with senses of humor starting with Jim Carey, to Michael Myers, then Seth Rogan & crew. Reynolds rolled unto town around then.

There are readily available Digital Audio Workstations, and Apple computers even come with one in the default suite. I've seen Nick at JHS Pedals (who is also their drummer, video editor, and so on) adding multiple audio tracks to a file, where they are all played in parallel, and then rapidly editing them. It's very easy to highlight a section and turn it off, or turn it back on again. Stretch it out. And an effect.

As you can see in the metal version by Leo Moracchioli/Frog Leap Studios, there can be multiple tracks of the same instrument or voice overlaid ("overdubbing"). And he even shows the greenscreen at the end. I suspect that Our Last Night used a greenscreen too, and that room with the amps doesn't even exist.

Anyways. Glad I got Greece checked off the list. Do not need to go back. Unlike when we left Croatia, there is not an overwhelming desire to return.

I occasionally mention my wife's pregnancy. We just had a congenital ultrasound and the truck, the wife, and the baby girl are all fine. We were worried on because of a very high risk factor, but testing and ultra sounds all seem to point to a normal baby.

It's something else at 57 to move to a different country, marry a younger woman, and start a family. I just had one child before but he looks like a genetic dead end. I love him, but I intend to create more Americans. That's my job here.

The newspaper had a picture of him changing a tire for an old lady. Good publicity, right. He reports to the barracks the next day, the picture is on the bulletin board with a note to see the LT. Trooper got a reprimand for not having his hat on when out of the car because, why, it's the Ohio State Patrol.

163 Skip, you can get a combo jump starter/tire inflator/USB charger/flashlight for less than $50. I found one on Amazon for $20 and it works great. They work better than you might expect, and will boost a dead battery in seconds.

There are a thousand different brands and I can't recommend one over the other. I've got three that were $20 to $40 and they all perform about the same.
