I believe what he’s done, ace, is filmed this in 8K (7680 × 4320 pixels), at 120 fps, which gave him room to zoom in & out and rotate the image during those fast transitions in the editing software, along with a transition filter which added some blur.

Posted by: Letters of Marque at September 07, 2026 03:27 PM (t19vo) Talk about a blast from the past… Posted by: Cow Demon I wonder if it would be economically viable as a business venture? I asked Grok what the value of the 3 recently sunk ships would have been if captured and sold instead. Rough estimate: on the order of $80–150+ million total for the three ships if sold as-is (or repaired) in a secondhand/auction market, likely toward the lower end or below due to age, sanctions status, and shadow-fleet associations. Individual estimates roughly $40–70 million for the VLCC and $20–40 million each for the two Suezmaxes under optimistic assumptions. Elon, yo! I'm intimately familiar with the sea, and naval combat. Talk to the Don, put up the money for a ship and crew, and I can turn a tidy profit for all involved! Plus some sweet video footage exclusively for X! Here's a story.
In HS I took the hardest AP English the school offered, which was Modern Poetry. I did this because i was bad at English and didn't want to skate. One project was to analyze a poem in groups and present. My group picked Thunder Road (songs counted as poetry) as I was a Springsteen fan. Every friday one group presented and it was brutal. No one talked, no one asked questions, no one cared. The week my group was up, I was presenting. I told one kid in our group to hang back and ask questions -- to get a discussion going. A plant. His name was Elio. Well, it worked perfectly, we presented and asked if there were any questions, and Elio's hand pops up. "Good questions,.. blah blah blah" About the third question, the teacher (a big busted blonde but I can't remember her name) said "wait a second Elio, aren't you in this group?" Well everyone realized what we had done, and busted up. After that, all the presentations were a great success because I had somehow broken the ice. And yet, we got a B. I think the teacher was downplaying that I had saved her stupid time waster and made it into a real interactive discussion that worked. F U Miss whatever. Posted by: polynikes ------------- I don't recall the details, but there is a museum in LA (I think on Ventura) called the Museum of Jurassic Technology, and one of their permanent exhibits was a series of microscopic sculptures. I saw it in the 90s so this all may be OBE, but I am sure they have a website. It was (is?) a wild museum. The whole idea was that you could not trust anything as it was half lies and half just outrageous. The sculptures could only be viewed through a microscope so you had no idea if they were real. (kind of like Ace's posts that we always doubt if they are real.) Anyway, if you are in LA, check it out. You may need time machine though.
