More fun with forced perspective.

This is so stupid. No one would use the "FOIL" method here. I'm posting this so that you can be as annoyed as I am by this internet slop.

Went on a weeklong vacation with several adults, including a couple with children aged 4, 2, and twin 10-month-olds. Heard later that the Monday after, when the Mom had to deal with all four without assistance, that she laid down and cried for a bit. 'Exhausting' did not begin to cover it.

47 We had two in diapers for about six months.

After moving cross country away from family and friends I did not want to pressure the toddler to be potty trained (potty chairs don't work, a stool and real toilets do). Nor take away his binkie.

The trip was a four day excursion to my parent's farm in MS. My bro opened the door and asked if the backseat was my milking stall. I told him to get out of my way as baby had a growth spurt most of the trip and I entertained truckers. We were 30yrs and could handle it with humor.

Toddler sort of trained himself before 3yrs and dropped his binkie one morning in the toilet. Informed me (thank God). I told him he had a choice of me buying another binkie (had spares) or for the same amt of money he could get a "big boy toy." He chose the big boy toy of a plastic plane and that was it for the binkie.

#2 son did not like binkies and was easy to train since he was competing with older brother. First peed and took his first steps (not at the same time) on the weekly beach trip near our house. Then he mostly wanted to pee outside but got directed to use toilets.

They turned out fairly normal.

Fond of both bourbon and Scotch in winters now. Gin is for summer. I don't know why.

I love Scotch since we had a tour of the Highlands of Scotland distilleries with son and DIL. Fun trip and I am aways pretty wasted in the backseat and loving every minute.

Similar to the wine tours of Northern France.

It's a riff on the punchline to an old joke.

Two cannibals are dining in the Cannibal Diner, and they both opt to try the clown, since it's rarely on the menu.

They're served, and each takes a bite of the clown. One turns to the other and says "Does this taste funny to you?"

I'll be here all week. Try the clown. Be sure to tip your waitstaff!

61 Joke for ace:

Mike walked into a post office just before Valentine’s Day, he couldn’t help noticing a middle-aged, balding man standing in a corner sticking “Love” stamps on a lot of bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them. Then the man got out a bottle of Channel perfume from his pocket and started spraying scent over the envelopes.

By now Mike’s curiosity had got the better of him, and so I asked the man why he was sending all those cards. The man replied, “I’m sending out 500 Valentine cards signed, ‘Guess who?'”

“But why?” asked Mike.

“I’m a divorce lawyer,” the man replied.

87 I realize this is a national holiday weekend and therefore gas prices will be high, that's the way it is. But Trump needs to get a handle on these high prices. There is no shortage on oil. Yet the prices remain high, too high. The gas companies are gouging the consumers. Trump knows it, the gas companies know it and we consumers know it. He needs to have a talk with the gas companies pronto. Call these oil honchos to Washington for a little talk and get these prices down. They are hurting the economy and the little people who are trying to make ends meet. The high cost of energy makes all products cost more.

My grandmother said that they used to keep a decanter on the sideboard filled with rock candy and rye whiskey. The candy dissolved slowly into the whiskey and was used as cough medicine. Rock and Rye.

I'm partial to putting a honey bourbon (with real honey) into hot tea, which is really effective and also makes one sleepy.

It's basic economics. When oil prices go up, gas stations have to raise prices because the replacement fuel will be more than what they have.

When prices fall, they have to hold the price high because that is what they paid for the gas in their pumps. You start to see the price fall as they cycle in the cheaper oil.

Gasoline is a commodity, which is very difficult to "fix" or "gouge." That's socialist speak for "drive in to bankruptcy and replace with state control."

105 I looks like I missed the chicken stock/bone broth convo, wanted to add:

I usually add some lemon juice and apple cider vinegar to my broth when I cook it. Just a splash of both. I heard that the vinegar helps leech out extra minerals from the bones, and the lemon juice helps tenderize the meat. I also add cumin or fish sauce sometimes, if I want the broth to have an Asian flair, like when I make bone broth for homemade ramen.

Hope it turns out well!

It really depends on what you are looking for. Bourbon (like many liquors) has price points, tiers if you will: top shelf, middle shelf, bottom shelf.

The top shelf goes in infinity, but for our purposes, we'll set the bar at brands like Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig and Woodford Reserve. Below that you have the "extra" Jim Beam, 1792, Bulleit and some of the upscale Jim Beam. At the bottom you're dealing with Wild Turkey, Old Crow and Evan Williams.

Now here's the thing: the pricey stuff isn't always better. Indeed, blessed is he who sincerely enjoys cheap booze. My hands-down favorite for price performance is Evan Williams BIB, aka white label. Good flavor, high proof, low price. I like Wild Turkey 101 for the same reason. But tastes vary, and I prefer a stronger flavor, so I prefer Evan Williams to Jim Beam and consider Jack Daniels ludicrously overpriced.

But, I only drink liquor on special occasions. So that's what is in my "cabinet." (I have a small bit of a 150 year anniversary JD sitting on my desk for when my first paycheck comes in with this new job.)

168 OK, I have to admit this one (from VA ABC) has me intrigued:
Highlands Distilling Dragon Navy Strength Gin

170 I see the Ceuta/moroccan invaders clubbed a baby dolphin, danced around for a while and then tossed it back into the sea. These are some sophisticated people. Spain will become a failed state very shortly.

They wouldn't have hired you if they didn't like your work. Just be you. You'll do great.

There are quite a few people who like Military Special bourbon. The gin is trash, but the bourbon is pretty good. I have a half-gallon in the basement. I may crack it open this fall.

185 I see parallels between Canada and New Jersey.

They both get the political leadership they deserve .. and it is awful.

I can only imagine that the same folks, who put pineapple on pizza, are electing these atrocious people.

186 A. H. Lloyd, this was very nice. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a bottle if I see it again.

188 >>I have to say that Stand By Me (based on The Body) is one of my all time favorite movies. I get verklempt every time at the end when Richard Dreyfuss’ voiceover says “I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?" And then the song starts.

Wonderful movie.

Ben Had, while you and the Morons are celebrating MoMeX, Smash & I will be celebrating our 43rd anniversary at a nice cabin in the woods on a lake. Exploring the surrounding countryside on the motorcycles.

That was the part that didn't ring true to me.
