11 The robot races vid is one of my favorites. The odd part is they design these things to run fast as they can... but apparently they cannot slow down and stop so they have the pads up to just catch them.

this one just didn't fare well from the impact.

Still, it is impressive watching them run around a track like that. Not that long ago they could barely stand up.

Because they're not entirely sure how it works, I don't think they can actually set laws like that.

They train the AI to 'alignment' of the parameters set from the start and how well it operates completing tasks.

If it's 'misaligned', then you start reading stories where the AI escaped the lab during testing, or hacked into some website with other agents.

AI is very much a black box technology even for it's inventors and trainers.

97 President Donald Trump on Monday released a new advertisement that doubled down on his promise to send $5,000 payments to Americans if Republicans maintain control of the House and Senate during next month’s midterm elections.

Piece of work, Piece of shit, Chip Roy, who will no longer be in congress after November, said, “Some of us think dependency is evil [and] soul-sucking in all its forms.”

Hey, Chip, you got beat in the primary, your on people don't like you, SMD.

On average Uber pays drivers about 50% of the fare a rider is charged.

However the driver uses his car. Uber or Waymo or any other driverless service has to pay for the car, you’re not getting a 50% discount. They’re just shifting costs from labor to assets that depreciate and need constant maintenance. And are VERY expensive to purchase.

You’ll be lucky to see a 5% discount t let alone a 50% discount vs a human operated car service.

I'm 49 and I've been married for 16 years. When I was dating, I dated women I met at school or church. But even I know you don't go to yoga to pick up women. Women in yoga class are very skittish around guys. I guarantee you any guy who shows up to a yoga class is going to raise their suspicion you're there to stare at their butts when they're in downward dog or similar positions.

I honestly don't know where guys are supposed to pick up women. Women have made pretty much everywhere casual off-limits for dating. A ridiculous number of gen Z women will tell you don't EVER try at a gym, or a run club, or the supermarket, or a library, etc.

He probably did well for himself. My dude's attitude as well. He didn't hesitate with me. I rarely dated anyone for months and months before I met him after moving West. His theory was that I intimidated college guys. Which might explain the huge pre-med chemistry and physics lectures when I was one of 3 girls vs 100 boys. THAT was a huge bummer time for me to have arrived, was ready for action, and no one asked me out.

My male apt mates arranged for a friend of theirs, who was also a grad psych major* to ask me out. We hiked, etc, in groups. He kissed me once during an university film fest. I got nothing from this encounter and he owned his own home, etc. I was not after anyone for what they owned or their sports cars.

I married a good-lookin' orderly who owned a $250 ancient car instead. You had to make me laugh, for starters.

*No offense to any Moron psych majors, but my theory is they go into this field to figure themselves out.

And employers pay about twice what wages are with insurance and taxes on each employee. Combine that with food costs skyrocketing under Biden and restaurants who were working with like a 4% margin to being with are looking for ways to cut costs just to stay open.

My very weak understanding of copyright law is that having a copyright just give you the right to sue people who infringe on it. Nobody else is going to proactively police this for you. And if you aren't on every violation like a dog on a bone, your right to enforce the copyright gets weaker and weaker.

International cases are even worse. Good luck enforcing your Italian copyright in Brazil or China.

after unearthed social media posts from El Sayed's sister in 2012 appear to show her saying her family has been involved with and supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood. I asked the campaign if they deny the posts are in fact from his sister, and what comment they have given that El-Sayed just told Meet the Press over the weekend that nobody in his family has any ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. This is what they told me.

“Abdul is a dad and a doctor. He has spent his entire career working to keep Michiganders healthy and safe. Independent fact checkers have repeatedly debunked Mike’s lies, but their campaign continues to use bad faith attacks on Abdul's faith and family. Mike wants to distract from Trump’s agenda that is terrorizing Michigan families at the pump and at the grocery store."

- El-Sayed campaign spokesperson Roxie Richner.

On background, the campaign says that claims El Sayed and his family are part of the Muslim Brotherhood have been debunked as "racist" and "untrue".

229 "Remove spaces"

Does nothing except blow margins by how many extra spaces you put in.

Thanks!

When I was bartending in LA, I met aa lot of actors and actresses, who had one moment of success.

Then nothing.

Like there was this one gal I dated who had been in the "Oh, whaat a feeling!" Toyota commercial a few years earlier. "I was the second girl from the left." then nothing.

She was still sure that old commercial would be her big break.

But, plenty of others too. Almost all a part non-speaking part in some TV show or commercial. Some were still clinging to hope based on that one tiny shot ten years later.

In any event, I imagine that poor guy thought being Walter White kid was a HUGE set toward stardom. Ten years later, when it wasn't, he probably finally lost all hope of his Hollywood dream.
