Exclusive Hamptons Club Cancels Restaurant Service After Illegal Immigrant Staff is Deported
ICE Deports a Record Number of Illegals Over the Summer

I saw this story cited on Instapundit, with the comment: We used to hire American teenagers for these jobs.

So, try that.

An ultra-exclusive Hamptons yacht club catering to the wealthy and well-connected was forced to suspend its members-only restaurant service for multiple days after several of its kitchen staff were booted from the country over visa issues, The Post has learned.

The swanky oceanfront Devon Yacht Club in Amagansett -- which reportedly charges around $100,000 in initiation fees -- canceled its Wednesday night dinner service after it lost its foreign cooks, according to a letter sent to members the same day.

I think you can afford to increase wages to hire a legal staff.

And if you can't, you can't. A business that has to commit crimes to stay in business maybe isn't run competently enough, or attractive enough to customers, to stay in business.

Food service was also canceled Thursday and is not expected to be back up and running until Friday's lunch service, the club informed its deep-pocketed members -- a group that once included Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's parents.

Oh, so this is an easily solved "problem."

The club claims this is just a paperwork snafu involving H2B visas (temporary, seasonal visas for supposedly necessary foreign workers) and suggests maybe the problem is with the Trump Administration's DHS.

I don't know. The rest of the article talks about the "choppy waters" this club as been in for years.

Deportations continue:

NEW: I'm told by federal source that ICE has arrested roughly 300 Haitian nationals in the state of Ohio alone in recent days, as the agency is now considering transitioning into a find & arrest approach after giving Haitians several weeks to turn themselves in to ICE offices since TPS officially ended on July 27th.

I'm told to expect arrests of Haitians to begin to significantly ramp up soon as ICE starts to prioritize tracking down those who never checked in.

BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE: DHS tells @FoxNews that ICE has quietly carried out one of its most successful operations in agency history, resulting in the arrests of 1,328 illegal aliens in just a 14-day span in the states of Virginia & Maryland. Nearly 400 of the aliens had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges, including a Salvadoran illegal alien wanted by police in Richmond, VA on a murder warrant. (Eygner Wilfredo Huezo-Moran's mugshot below).

Other targets included aliens with rap sheets for attempted murder and rape, as well as convictions for sexual battery, kidnapping, robbery and DWI.

The operation primarily targeted the sanctuary jurisdiction suburbs in VA & MD around Washington DC, and ICE arrested anyone in the U.S. illegally, regardless of any criminal history.

The leftwing media is pushing the newest op, which is that ICE has arrested a record number of illegals "without criminal records"... apart from violating the country's immigration rules, and, I'm sure, committing either identity theft to hold a job or welfare fraud to become dependents on a country they are not citizens of.

First: Whether or not they have "criminal records," they are still illegal and not permitted to stay. There is no law saying "illegals may live in the US as long as they like so long as Soros DAs refuse to prosecute them for crimes."

Second: Trump and Tom Homan have said over and over they would not have to go into illegal immigrant areas and arrest any illegals they find if leftwing sanctuary jurisdictions would just turn over the criminal illegal aliens they seek as their highest priority. If you just turned over the illegal criminals at the jail, this would be an easy job for ICE with no need of going into "the communities."

But we're all supposed to take from this that Undocumented Criminals have a right to remain forever, so long as only some of their crimes are documented.

By the way: this article admits, at the very end, that ICE has reduced "going into the communities" to make arrests and is now arresting people stopped at routine traffic stops and found to be illegal and less-invasive situations like that.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a record high of more than 800 people without criminal records a day in July on average, new federal data shows. The surge in arrests comes as the White House pushes the agency to hit a target of 2,000 per day.

July is the first month in President Trump's second term when people with only civil immigration violations -- rather than pending criminal charges or convictions -- made up more than half of those arrested. An average of more than 1,580 people were arrested each day in July, also a new high for the current administration.

Enforcement ramped up this summer after a drop following public backlash to the Department of Homeland Security's operation in Minneapolis, a funding standoff and a shake-up in DHS leadership. But, as has been the case with ICE's previous big city crackdowns, rising arrest totals come with spikes in community arrests of people without criminal records.

Administration officials have repeatedly claimed that their enforcement efforts are focused on "the worst of the worst" and often tout arrests of immigrants with violent criminal convictions. Those with convictions for violent crimes as defined by the Justice Department's Bureau of Justice Statistics make up about 6% of all those booked into ICE detention under the current administration, and about 4% of those taken into custody in July, the data show.

"ICE enforces the law as written. What makes someone a target for immigration enforcement is whether or not they are illegally in the U.S.-- full stop," a DHS spokesperson said in a statement to CBS News. "Many of the individuals that are counted as 'non-criminals' are actually terrorists, human rights abusers, gangsters and more; they just don't have a rap sheet in the U.S."

The data, obtained from ICE by the Deportation Data Project run by the University of California, Berkeley and UCLA, does not provide information about immigrants' alleged crimes in other countries. CBS News asked DHS to provide that data.

So 1, this data comes from a leftwing Open Borders group, and 2, deliberately excludes foreign criminal records or open arrest warrants.

White House border czar Tom Homan has said that sanctuary policies that prevent local law enforcement from turning over people held in jails and prisons to ICE force them to "flood the zone" and deploy more resources to such cities to find and arrest their targets and anyone else they encounter living in the U.S. illegally. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has made similar claims.

"Claims," you see. They're liars, CBS "News" wants you to know.

But June and July data suggests that ICE agents making arrests in communities are not focusing their efforts solely on areas the administration deems to be sanctuary jurisdictions. Those cities and states saw a 27% increase in street arrests during those months compared to the previous six, compared with a 50% increase everywhere else, CBS News' analysis of the data found.

Wow, what an important bit of news: ICE is able to arrest more illegals in areas where the police cooperate with them.

Here's the very, very late admission that ICE has reduced the controversial program of making mass arrests in sanctuary zones:

...

The uptick in arrests has been without highly publicized city-focused crackdowns, with agents instead turning to traffic stops, airport arrests and arrests at immigration check-ins. The killing of two immigrants by federal agents in Maine and Texas during attempted traffic stops reignited outcry.

Ron DeSantis:

Democrats continue moaning about the illegal alien "father" who... I don't even want to say this. He fingered a baby.

Every single TPS holder who now no longer holds TPS has been informed that they are eligible for deportation. They've all lost their jobs, some are fleeing (reports of them going to Canada, HA!), and there are reports of deportations for them specifically.

Remember, deportation is not a criminal remedy. It is the civil remedy to the civil crime of being present in the United States illegally.

"criminal record" as defined by the media in these reports are only those arrested AND convicted of a major crime in the United States.

It excludes misdemeanors, those arrested for felonies, those currently under indictment for felonies, and--most importantly--those who have extensive criminal records in their home country.

Thus, an illegal convicted of murder in his home country, will be counted as having "no criminal record" by the US media.

I am writing to follow up on a conversation I had with President Trump, and to reiterate my strong opposition to the termination of protections for hundreds of thousands of immigrants under Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

"The callousness of abruptly ending TPS for legally-present individuals including the recent termination for Haitians and the forthcoming termination for Salvadorians will force New York State and local governments to sever the employment of hundreds of essential employees as soon as next week, putting their livelihoods – and potentially their safety – at risk."

"For generations, New York has welcomed those fleeing disasters or persecution and seeking a better future. Through our Office for New Americans, my administration has supported thousands of New Yorkers with TPS application assistance and legal representation. New York remains committed to supporting TPS recipients and will continue to do everything in our power to prevent harm to the immigrant community."

These swells and their predilection for seeking out the marginal and cheaper options for labor really piss me off.

Our scout troop would assist with annual roadside cleanups in a posh neighborhood in northern Delaware. While we worked, all the swells would zoom by in their high value vehicles as we preened their byways.

One time, after an entitled brat left her house to claim an arrow that one of our scouts had found in the roadside underbrush, and did so rudely, I had had enough. We were not going to do such scut work for them again -- clean up your own messes, a-holes.

I committed our unit to a stretch of road that ran up to our meeting place through Adopt-A-Highway. We would be cleaning up our own neighborhood. We would get public recognition for our deeds

His family shared a line he lived by, asking fans to honor his memory by "leading others with compassion, integrity and loyalty" and to always remember to "be strong enough to be gentle."

144 The Independent: ICE is arresting a record number of immigrants in a summer surge — and a majority have no criminal history
Trump’s mass deportation campaign increasingly targets legal immigration pathways to boost arrests and removals

ICE, and the right wingers who joined, are a bunch of pussies who never intended to put themselves in danger to arrest the violent criminals they like to talk about. They do like harassing and assaulting the nonviolent people though.

ICE is illegally arresting legal immigrants to intimidate and frighten every one with its power to ignore the law

It's almost like Faux News, who kept claiming that tens, if not hundreds, of millions of "illegals" were violent criminals, was full of shit.

They're focusing on conservative cities instead of liberal ones. Thats why it isn't in the news as much. This is devastating the floridian Cuban communities...Republicans are gona lose Cubans with this and maybe we'll get a blue Florida one day.

We’ve deported thousands, doge ‘cut government spending,’ "billions" in tariff revenue and shit is still expensive as hell and wages are low. Hopefully people will wake up.

145 I'm not trying to justify it, but on a "hard" job, if you're a business owner, who do you think is going to take a job like that more seriously. Upper middle class 16 year old that is working for "fun money", can only work part time, and will quit at the drop of a hat or a 30 year old hispanic that actually needs the paycheck and this is their career?

except those guys quit constantly

so my one worked at a specific (very nice) restaurant thru HS and summers in college

got up to server, very nice! BUT

sometimes the illegales in the back just didn't show, en masse, or enough that he would end up washing the dishes

this happened on the regular!

so whatever, your point is valid but in reality there are huge downsides

it just gets to the point where you CAN'T put an anglo back there. no one can talk to them

156 I am tired of explaining why minimum wage should be $8 an hour.

You’re not supposed to support a family on a minimum wage job. They are for teenagers to learn how to show up on time, complete a series of tasks and then go home. It isn’t supposed to be fun. You’re supposed to WANT to do something else, something that will require education or experience or certification.

Kids think they deserve $30 an hour, they don’t show up, they want the newest iPhone and gaming console. They would never dream of living three to a one bedroom scuzzy apartment and working three jobs. They are spoiled, entitled, lazy drugged up brats.

It is actually horrifying.

The commission protects residents from discrimination based on personal characteristics, including: Race, color, ethnicity, and ancestry; religion or creed. National origin or citizenship status. Sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Physical or mental disability. Age and veteran status. Familial or marital status. Source of income. 217 Part of the problem is critical thinking skills aren’t extant. Yes, they know things are screwed up beyond belief.

But they can’t seem to connect the dots. “We should have open borders!” and “I can’t believe the minimum wage is so low!” are directly connected.

Millions and millions of illegal labor drives wages down down down. Costs for rent and insurance go up. Those “intangibles” they bring are increased hit and run and carnage on the highway among other things.

Court interpreters for 72 different languages costs a fortune, by the way. Schools are fooked. The list is extensive.

Cost shifting everything onto the backs of local citizens, local governments. It is beyond repulsive. And all these bastards on the left have monetized this and make serious bank.

Illegal presence is a civil crime, not a criminal crime. The civil remedy is deportation.

It's a game of semantics, to a degree, but the fact that deportation is the actual civil remedy always entertains me.

Entering illegally is, I believe, a criminal matter, but illegals aren't picked up in Iowa for crossing the border, but for being in the country illegally.

This is because any amnesty for illegals bill that's signed into law (God forbid) will be sold partly on being tough on illegal felons! The proponents will loudly repeat there will be no amnesty for illegals with a felony record! After being signed into law, Joe Q. Public will be quietly told that only three out of every million illegals has a felony record that bars them from amnesty. Leftists are always planning far ahead.

The manager has to keep them happy to do whatever needs to be done. I have fired or refused to hire many people simply because they would be a bad fit. Complainers, backstabbers, megolomaniacs, etc.. With foreigners, it isn't a problem because they will put up with a lot of shit.

- Competence. In tech, being a competent manager is tough, but necessary. You can't tell an engineer to do something foolish as he will get pissed and be very unhappy. Foreigners will waste time doing stupid shit for months, just happy know they getting paid. Or, an American will ask questions and demand resources when in over their head, but a foreigner will stay up late on youtube figuring out what the manager should have known and told them.

308 From The Daily Mail. The Somalis are the fabric of MN, doncha know:
----------------------------

Police in Minneapolis reportedly raided the apartment of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's son and seized firearms before arresting his roommate.

Law enforcement sources told Alpha News that a search warrant was carried out at the home of Omar's son Adnan on Tuesday night.

According to the outlet, they recovered guns and ammunition from the home and arrested his roommate Abdulrahman Abdi, 22.

Earlier that day, the city's police department said in a statement to the Daily Mail that they conducted a traffic stop and cited Abdi for no proof of insurance and no license.

The department said that Abdi was released at the scene and the vehicle was in the process of being impounded when a firearm was found inside.

Officers later tracked Abdi to an address on Marquette Ave where they said they arrested him 'without incident.'

Abdi was later booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge before being released on Wednesday night, records show.

========

You should actually read the law.

A cursory look at eVerify is all employers need to do to make a "good faith" effort. Then they're covered legally.

There's massive wiggle room written into the law for employers to evade responsibility for hiring illegals.

The law needs to change.

339 > Picking grapes was bad growing up. Fucking bees everywhere.

When I was a teen our church group went to an apple orchard and picked up apples for eight hours. We did not pick apples. Our job was to dig through the apples on the ground to find undamaged apples and collect them.

This was deep in the heart of summer in eastern WA. It was miserable and the air was sickly sweet with rotting apple smell. I couldn't stand anything apple flavored or scented for years.

On the plus side, I vividly remember two jerks getting into a fight. One sucker punched the other and ran away. While he was running, the other picked up a rotten apple and hit him with it. The apple exploded on top of the sucker-puncher's head and he tumbled.
