The Morning Report — 8/ 26 /26

CalKeelYou.jpg

Good morning kids. So, this blithering Commie stooge blurted this out the other day:

Leftist Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters on Saturday that his country is “at war” with the United States after trade talks collapsed.

Well, maybe this fool is actually on to something, perhaps not quite in the way he thinks.

A new report is warning that Muslim Brotherhood-aligned networks have embedded themselves across the Canadian government, charities, and universities, raising concerns about the influence of Islamist organizations within the country’s democratic institutions. . . The findings come as the Muslim Brotherhood itself has faced increasing scrutiny from the U.S. government. In January, the Treasury Department designated the Egyptian and Jordanian branches of the organization as Specially Designated Global Terrorists. In July, the administration sanctioned a senior Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood official whom Treasury accused of helping finance Hamas’ military wing.

And so as our government has correctly identified the MB and its allies as a threat to our own domestic security, and as it is aligned if not partially or substantially funded by Iran, well the response, at least from my own perspective, is obvious, especially considering that Carney himself loudly and openly declared Canada to be at war with the United States.

I believe there are still a number of active airbases located at or very near our northern border. I'm not saying we should turn Ottawa into a glass parking lot, but an overflight of a few B2's or B52's might raise a few pulses, so to speak. At the very least maybe it would teach this yammering schmuck to choose his words carefully. What a putz, but the danger posed by Islam especially now at home is as plain as day.

Closer to home there's still California that is a concrete albatross around the neck of America, and will drown us if the Muslims don't behead us first.

One group, more than any other, has cashed in on this arrangement: California’s public-sector unions. For them, higher taxes are good business. More taxes means more state workers, which means more union members, more dues, and more power for union bosses. The union bosses, in turn, keep the dollars flowing, agitating for more tax hikes, more spending, and more state workers.

Example number two...

It seems that California has commenced on yet another end run around the Constitution with the “Stop Nick Shirley” act . . . Never a state to allow anything to get in the way of the exploitation of taxpayers, California has taken a different tack. Instead of busting the fraudsters, the Cali state government targeted the man who was attempting to expose them. The mental gymnastics necessary to justify this presented no challenge: California Democrats simply recast the fraudsters as victims.

And finally, in the sense of this post but certainly not the actions of the thugs in Sacramento that will endlessly move to persecute whatever working citizenry remain in that failed state.

California Creates A Black Market For Tires . . . There are state lines, though, and Californians will cross them to buy the tires they want and the tires they can afford. Enterprising off-the-books merchants will buy contraband tires in Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and elsewhere and sell them in California outside the normal channels to avoid the regulators. Who knows, some might feel the rule is the straw that finally breaks their backs and sends them fleeing the state as so many others already have because policymakers continue to make living in California an intolerable burden.

Meanwhile, several thousand miles across the Pacific...

But can an already free society really travel backward? Can people who have known liberty be persuaded, intimidated, or exhausted into surrendering it?

We do not have to speculate. We are staring at the answer in Hong Kong.

For decades under British rule, Hong Kong was one of the freest societies in Asia. The Heritage Foundation consistently ranked it at or near the top of its Index of Economic Freedom. It had independent newspapers, outspoken political magazines, vigorous labor unions, public demonstrations, and courts widely respected for their professionalism. In a territory of only several million people, an extraordinary variety of Chinese-language publications competed for readers. Hongkongers could criticize their government, denounce the Chinese Communist Party, and commemorate events that Beijing had erased from public memory.

With all due respect to the author of this fine essay, the three examples above indicate that California began its degeneration into a thugocratic Leftist dictatorship decades before Hong Kong. The Golden State was at one point the 6th largest economy in the world, gaining that status due to the hard work and innovation of a hard-working industrious populace that took the American work ethic to heart and built what was a real paradise on earth that attracted people from all over the nation and the world to flock there to both chase and more crucially build their dreams to make them real. Alas, no more...

Have a good day.

“The failing Islamic Republic of Iran is not paying large segments of their military, while at the same time killing protesters, even when they are not protesting, at levels not seen before,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Calling the situation a “humanitarian crisis of epic proportions,” Trump demanded that it “must be stopped, NOW.”

Does this mean that anyone in the US providing any aid or comfort to "the enemy", aka Canada, is now a bona fide traitor subject to execution?

Or does that only go the other way, where Congress will never declare war on anyone, just abstracts like War, Hunger, Climate Change, etc.

53 Leftist Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney told reporters on Saturday that his country is “at war” with the United States after trade talks collapsed.
======================
Right or wrong, it is my impression Carney has always had a hard on for the varsity player, the US. It's not so much he wants to promote Canada's interests as just that he thinks America is too big for it's britches, in all things.

This language he uses "We are at war!" is intentionally divisive and also intended to last well past the trade kerfuffle. He is establishing much closer relations with China, made clear many times he thinks China is the future hegemon, and his intention now, it appears to me, is to establish in the minds of Canadians a future of constant conflict with the United States.

The Liberal Party leadership is not our friends.

84 Canada last met the NATO target of 2% of GDP in 1990, before finally meeting it again in 2026. Historically (in recent decades), Canada is at the bottom of NATO spenders, alongside countries like Spain and Belgium (who are above all that icky military stuff).

85 Right now the Canadian navy is bigger than the Royal Navy."

I'm guessing every Florida city marina could assemble a better fleet...

87 For Operation Firecrest, the Royal Navy scrounged up one destroyer and one frigate to guard HMS Prince of Wales and it's 8 F-35 aircraft as they set sail into the North Sea to confront the Russian bear.

88 I also gotta ask
The Canadian military used to punch well above it's weight. Used to.

Killers, huh? I'd trade the whole lot of them for a good Camp Fire girl.

89 NASA famously hired a bunch of AVRO canucks, then recently unemployed, they were top notch engineers and NASA were glad to get them.

Thanks for the correction.

Still, a sad ending to a great organization.

And they got to 2% the old fashioned way...by gaming the numbers. They are undoubtedly counting infrastructure improvements as military spending.

As for Belgium? I guess they are lucky that they are in a peaceful part of Europe that rarely sees war.

95 I woke up at 4 frickin' AM. The only good thing is I got to see the Pleiades and Taurus in the early morning sky, so that means fall isn't too far away.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to fall asleep at the kitchen table.

I woke at 4am today to jog 5 miles and beat the Florida heat before sunrise…. I beat the heat but not the humidity, which was sauna like. I think I’ll pay for this late afternoon

96 Canada is borrowing money to pay welfare to the Canadians put out of work by the trade dispute. I don't think they are capable of lasting too long, much less doing any damage to the US.

Why only 8 F-35s? Because England only has 47 for the RN and RAF.

102 First Lady is currently battling a round of what they believe is diverticulitis. It's some intestinal issue that cropped up while she was going through chemo. She's in considerable pain and is now on 2 different antibiotics and has a CT scan scheduled for Thursday.

If I find out Ivermectin is a serious treatment for cancers, including what she had, and they all cashed in destroying her body with chemo, I just might be pretty pissed off.
