Supreme Court Sides With Trump Admin on Mail-In Ballot Restrictions
The Supreme Court has lifted an injunction blocking President Trump's election integrity order in 23 states, clearing the way for new restrictions on mail-in ballots ahead of the midterms.
Under the order, USPS can check its distribution of mail-in ballots against a DHS-maintained list of citizens. The DOJ and USPS say they will move to implement the changes immediately.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court handed the Trump administration a victory on Monday, allowing it to enforce President Donald Trump's "election integrity" executive order restricting mail-in voting ahead of the November midterms.
The high court lifted an injunction that had blocked the order in 23 states that challenged it after the administration appealed in July.
The U.S. Postal Service and Justice Department said they would immediately implement the revised mail-ballot restrictions after the ruling.
Most immediately, the ruling clears the path for the U.S. Postal Service to check its distribution of mail-in ballots against a list of citizens maintained by the Department of Homeland Security. But it's also a significant political victory for the Trump administration as it has advocated against the widespread use of mail-in-voting, citing what it believes is a heightened vulnerability to tampering and voter fraud.
Most recently, Trump slammed what he called a suspiciously high volume of mail-in-ballots cast for [Nythia] Raman in the 2026 LA mayoral race primaries.
"You know, they don't have voting booths; everything's by mail. I don't think a Republican can win in California unless you pass the Save America Act," Trump told Fox News, referring to GOP legislation to narrow the scope of mail-in voting and voter-ID requirements.
"They're going to have to get rid of mail-in voting."
Like many onlooking conservatives, Trump pointed out that, after election night, the vast majority of Democratic votes had been for Nithya Raman, creating a delayed outpouring of support.
Fox News Digital has not reviewed any particular case of election fraud tied to the LA mayoral race.

Even so, Trump's original executive order looked to eliminate any ambiguity. Titled "Preserving and protecting the integrity of American elections," it directed federal agencies to compile citizenship-based lists of eligible voters and ordered the U.S. Postal Service to deliver mail-in ballots only to people appearing on those approved lists.
"Several Federal laws, including 18 U.S.C. 1015 and 611, prohibit foreign nationals from registering to vote or voting in Federal elections. Yet States fail adequately to vet voters' citizenship, and, in recent years, the Department of Justice has failed to prioritize and devote sufficient resources for enforcement of these provisions," the executive order reads.
Where critics of the order saw a federal effort to dictate the terms of state-run elections, the court on Monday sided with the administration, stating that the way the executive order was made put requirements only on federal agencies.
In essence, the order didn't put any new requirements on the states themselves.
"[It] directs the Secretary of Homeland Security to take appropriate action to create and distribute State Citizenship Lists. This provision is an internal directive from the President to a subordinate. It imposes no obligations on the States, so they 'suffer no concrete harm from' it, and without concrete harm, there is no standing," the court wrote.

Obviously the three braindead woke women dissented.

The decision leaves room for additional court challenges that could further slow Trump's order, and other similar cases have already been filed. The U.S. Postal Service laid out how it would implement the order last week, but time is running short to impose major changes. North Carolina is sending out ballots Sept. 4 overseas and to military voters, and other states will quickly follow suit in just a few weeks.

Mail balloting has long been a favorite target for Trump, who has claimed that it breeds fraud despite strong evidence to the contrary and his own use of the voting method.

Which "experts" did you consult? The same leftwing "experts" you always consult, right? Did you consult a single expert who believes that mail-in voting increases fraud, as it obviously does?

The leftwing media always claims that "experts" support its own leftwing biases. And yet the media never consults any other "experts" but the hand-picked lefties whose opinions they know in advance. That's why they call them. They know what they're going to say.

This is a racket that we need to address: The media is itself non-expert, but claims it can render expert opinions because it has consulted "experts" and is just relaying their opinion.

And yet, there are of course many experts who disagree.

But these are not cited.

Because the media has decided these experts are wrong.

But dinky-brained "journalists" went to three years of journalism school and have absolutely zero subject-matter expertise in any discipline. They are experts in nothing. This means, that in a dispute between experts, they are absolutely unqualified to determine the winner and loser. They don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

But in case after case, the media -- which tells you you must always rely on "experts" and must not "do your own research" -- does its own research and decides which experts are right and which are Lying Racists, despite the experts themselves having failed to make that conclusion.

They obviously did this with covid, in all disputes involving it, from masking to vaccine injury to the covid origin to the need to lock ourselves in our homes for a year. Some experts gave them the leftwing version of the story, and other experts disputed it -- but these know-nothing uneducated non-expert simpletons and fools decided Who the Real Experts Here Are and ruled -- WITHOUT EVIDENCE -- that all dissenters from this media-fabricated "consensus" were conspiracy theorists, frauds, and liars.

I'd really like to see more people challenging the non-experts of the media about their qualifications, or lack thereof, to settle disputes between actual experts. It's a very big question, especially today, as the media's favorite tactic for deciding the "truth" is to claim they know who The Real Experts Here Are and declare them to be in the right, based on nothing but their dinky, pathetic J-school degree.

The SAVE Act would do a fair amount, for sure.

But, the GOP is not actually fighting any of the Trump EOs and efforts. Most of the GOP is actively helping, especially at the state level as they do things like hand over voter rolls to the DOJ for auditing.

It's just that there's still a cadre who won't actively help, concentrated in the Senate. And most of them are gone at the end of this Congress anyway.

Having been interviewed on some published research by no less than the NYT about 18-20 years ago, they never published it when what I said did not fit their template for the story. Ditto for for local media on a state immigration law and enforcement way back when.

What the MSM cuts and leaves on the floor is even more prevalent than deceptive cutting and editing interviews. If they can't use an interview, they bury it.

Arlen Specter was often Democrats in PA favorite GOP guy until he swapped parties so Obamacare could pass through the filibuster. Honest answer, no. The 2000 election showed the problem with military ballots. The military and USPS bureaucracies repeatedly failed to get the ballots in time to vote counters so the elections were already decided and certified before some of the military ballots dribbled in. Gore's team was arguing in Pensacola Fed. Ct. that military ballots that were late or somehow not strictly compliant with all the absentee ballot rules should not be counted while chanting every vote must count in Florida state courts including those made by mistake (the butterfly ballot).

Then, apparently Democrats did wholesale fraud on military ballots in Georgia with 100 percent Biden vote batches. Nasty critters and you should blame Democrats for the mess.

Ordered a package from a place on South Florida on August 3rd. They shipped it out on the 4th.

Usually takes two or three days to arrive here in SC from there.

Unfortunately this package was shipped to Denver, sat there a day or two and instead of going back east it was sent to San Francisco, sat for three days, then to San Jose, CA, then it was driven all the way to Memphis, TN, then finally arrived at the mailbox on the 17th.

This has happened before a few times where something went way off course, but this is the first time I saw a package make it all the way to the west coast and back.

I thought the point here is that the (ridiculous, outrageous) mailed ballot system would have the minimal screen of citizenship status applied by the feds before mail delivery.

Places where such ballots can be harvested or dropped off will see no change because of the ruling or the USPS actions. But in theory non-citizens would be excluded from the mail-in scam. Which would do nothing about in-person improper voting, provisional ballots in-person, etc, in states where there is zero election integrity due to no ID requirement. But it does complicate fraud at-scale.

That is the printed version. GPO used to print a copy every decade or so and then they would supplement with new printed addendums. The printed big book had pockets in the binder to hold the supplements.

But constitution.congress.gov is the almost real time amended version online. Easier to use than the old print supplements dead books version.

Tempering my initial thought -- the Court, with the cooperation of the liberals, "rushed" this decision out for a prudential reason.

It's finding of a lack of standing on the part of the States is tied to when the complaints were filed and the status of the record then -- no "Proposed Regulation" and no "Final Regulation." All the supposed harms were hypothetical.

But there are now both Proposed and Final Regulations and the Plaintiffs are now going to be able to point to the provision and say "We will be harmed in the following way if this goes into effect."

That is not the kind of hypothetical they had to make back in April when the complaints were filed.

The Court is signaling to all involved that the facts now are different than the facts in April and the outcome on the question of standing might be different now.

I do not think it is a coincidence that the Trump Admin. announced it had a Final Rule back on Friday and the Court issuing this decision today.

There are only about 75 days left before the election. Whether Judge Talwani or some other Judge now tries to tie up the Final Order to prevent it from being implemented

Frothingham v. Mellon was in 1923. The only big caveat to the decision is if a law/action violates the Bill of Rights. That came in a 1968 case, Flast v. Cohen dealing with the Establishment clause. Then a citizen can sue over spending that violates the Bill of Rights, in this case, public money for religious education. That particular exception is less viable today after Scotus weakened the old wall of separation between religion and government in the 80's and 90's.

I think you underestimate their ability to adapt. Democrats have successfully been ahead of every cycle except the last where they underestimated turnout. I believe some of the fraud prevention and eyes on will help. But there seems to be something going on with the electronic counting process. More needs to be done to audit the actual votes cast with the counting.

Places where such ballots can be harvested or dropped off will see no change because of the ruling or the USPS actions. But in theory non-citizens would be excluded from the mail-in scam. Which would do nothing about in-person improper voting, provisional ballots in-person, etc, in states where there is zero election integrity due to no ID requirement. But it does complicate fraud at-scale.

The GOP actively worked with the Democrat Party to help them along in 2018, 2020, and 2022. The RNC was in controlled opposition hands. The GOP was more interested in defeating Trump, so they largely stepped aside and let Democrats do things.

2024 showed that Democrats weren't good at adapting. They fumbled the whole thing very, very badly.

All it took was one well-timed lawsuit in Philadelphia when they tried to shut down ballot counting at 10pm election night, which the RNC led by recent heads Lara Trump and Michael Whatley orchestrated.

That whole line of decisions of the court stemmed from the school prayer decision which the later decisions blossomed into an ahistorical mythical wall of separation doctrine taken from a letter of Tom Jefferson (who was actually not at the Convention nor important in drafting the Bill of Rights) to a Baptist congregation as president.

Right now, they can just print out ballots, fill them out, scan them, and pretend they were 'mail-in'. A recount finds the same number of 'mail-in' ballots.

But the USPS keeps optical scans of the mail it delivers; they even send me an email, showing me what I can expect to find in the mailbox when I collect it. So, with matching barcodes, an audit would find that those ballots were not mail-in at all, since the USPS had no record of ever delivering an envelope with that barcode. Their Easy Mode election fraud would get much harder.

Then compare it with the normal Dem vote. Then you can if you can get them, regional crosstabs of any Texas polling to determine whether the sample is bad on R-D normal vote.

Real election analysis takes a lot of time, media just blow past that as do 'influencers' directly to muh feelz and muh opinion. Even most of the political professional media analysts like Cook Report, RCP, or ole Nate Silver pass on the most ridiculous polling outliers and use them.

Election Mail doesn't necessarily get run through the machines. Without that, no optical scans (pictures) are taken.

Yep. Since Anthrax happened, USPS now images front and back of EVERY envelope sent through the system with tracking from where to where. But as the ballot envelopes are often shredded by fraudsters or non existent in the first place, this did not scare them.

What scares them is verifiable and unique individual ballot tracking plus the imaging which means the risk for cheaters facing serious prison time (mail fraud among other things). Res ipsa loquitur on the envelope and tracking if a ballot goes missing or never was delivered in the first place.

298 294. Right. Colorado has mail balloting but ballots can be dropped off at ballot collections boxes. I've never paid attention to whether there is a barcode on the blank ballot I get in the mail that matches the return ballot envelope and the ballot itself.

Actually it does when mailed to the recipient already. Plus billing is based on it. Whether it comes back that way is different as a mailed absentee ballot can be put in a drop box, delivered to the election office, etc. But, that makes it dead easy to indicate which ballots are likely fraudulent.

The ones without USPS tracking obviously. And it makes the ballot harvesting in states that don't allow it even more risky because the USPS is not going to deliver if the USPS address and voting information does not match with a citizen and the state voting record. It tears the curtain over the black box of absentee ballot harvesting where ballots were sent in multiples to non existent residences, Wal Marts, etc. and retrieved from the dead letter repositories to vote.

Tracking to and forbidding delivery to non residences prevents that.
