Touchy Cats Cafe

knaresboroughbydavezphoto.jpg
Knaresborough, on the River Nidd, North Yorkshire
by @DaveZphoto

There is no instinct stronger than that of a cat to crawl into a small confined space it can't get out of.

Helping a baby moose cross a highway.

Compilation of close encounters with nature. Including giving neck-scratches to a rhino.

Sailing to the bottom of the world.

Slingshot autoloader. Well, pretty much.

3D printing a backyard condominium for frogs.

Dogs are usually gentle and patient with smaller animals. Sometimes, though, they're just sick of it.

Flyin' fish.

Always. Be. Herding.

The Bouncer.

Baby rhino.

Fashions of the 80s we'd rather forget. At 4:53, "hypercolor." They also mention Members Only jackets which are, of course, back.

Steve Inman:

Classic FAFOs.

I've got two fists, one for each of you.

Guy brought his chin to a fist-fight.

Young Scholar gets into the face of woman. He also leads with his chin. The woman leads with her fist.

Content warning: Moped bandits challenge an SUV who drives offensively. It's pretty bad.

Another content warning: This cop does not wait long before unloading his full clip on a robber who's taken refuge in an innocent woman's house. I don't really understand how he got the target in his sights before firing.

Heroic goose:

Chelsea Gerber and her husband, Bert Gerber, said their pet goose -- named Goosey -- started honking loudly in the early morning hours of Aug. 3.

The ruckus was caught on the family's home security camera, footage of which the Gerbers shared with Storyful.

...

Bert Gerber said after he was awoken by Goosey, he realized the barn had caught fire and responded quickly, grabbing a garden hose to get the fire under control.

...

The couple said their daughter Elena is also a hero: She met Goosey at an expo three months ago and asked if they could keep him.

Now, Chelsea Gerber said the family plans to get a friend for Goosey and name her Lucy.

53 Those dang Methodists are at it again, this time in Sweden:

One person has reportedly died, and several others are injured after a man armed with a sword attacked a high school in the small city of Fagersta in central Sweden.

Some outlets like The Telegraph are describing the blade as a ‘machete’, but a picture doing the rounds in social media clearly shows a sword, and most outlets describe it as such.

There’s also been some confusion regarding victims: some say 2 injured, three injured – but the latest reports say one dead, two heavily injured.

They run up and beat you with their wings. They love to attack from behind. They don't have 'teeth,' but their bites cause blood blisters. A lot of pinch power there, considering the tip of the beak has the least mechanical leverage from their jaw.

101 Why are there no records on Obama teaching?

As I have pointed out before, there are two reasons to study something...

Either to support it? or to figure out how to destroy it.

Obama, Constitutional Scholar.

103 A big Win 11 update just popped up, ten days after Patch Tuesday. Hm.

104 Yeah, but it still doesn't make any sense. For all the things to get pissed off about, White House renovations ain't it. They just keep getting more and more crazy.

105 I had a couple op tshirts growing up in Kansas. No mesh shirts though. Gals never wore those. What a jip

106 I may be the only one, but I would not like to meet Piper in person. I don't like meeting her on the internet. She is just too special for me.

107 Back from church events.

I am such an introvert, I had to hide indoors some of the time.

Luckily we had plenty of volunteers. Sadly we only had a few groups from the neighborhood show up - sad because it was supposed to be a neighborhood social event.

Apparently Halloween does better in this regard. If I haven't moved for a job by then, I'll see for myself.

I don’t know how to feel about this. Would you define “special”?

He never did anything worth publishing.
Bernardine Dohrn wrote his thesis at Columbia.
He is a test tube if ever there was one.
Given to and raised by his grandparents who were
sub rosa affiliated with the state department from
the time he was 10.

Before that Obama was six years old when he moved
to Indonesia with his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, in 1967.
The baby was groomed from the day he was born.
